Hello, I've change in French the status of the fr:Boîte noire page, to make the disambiguation only in fr:Boîte noire (homonymie) ... and I find the interwiki synchronization page just after.
Any way, I'll try to make correctly the link, but I think the that the article boite noire have to make the link with the Computer science and philosophy section. fr:boite noire (cybernétique) and fr:boite noire (psychologie) have to be fusion in fr:Boite noire, like in English, and I'll try to make the necessary in the French wiki.

Thank you for your quick reply! :-) I'm not sure of a thing: is it enough to translate only the messages in the "Extensions used by Wikimedia - Main" group, excluding the larger "Extensions used by Wikimedia"? - No - "Extensions used by Wikimedia" is the group that has to be 100% translated, but it's already at 97.97%, so you can get there very quickly.

Hi, Jahrusalem. We met in Gdansk, in the last Wikimania. But i'm (i support your idea to not use "I", but "i") here to talk about the requests for new languages. First, i would like to thank you for your collaboration in the language committe. This seems to be a wise choose, as i know how you love and support languages. As you already know, i've made requests for wikisource and wikinews in Esperanto. i won't ask you to get me ahead in the line, this would be unfair. All i want is that you complete (accept/reject) the requests before these, and then, in the right time, i wanna help to provide what's necessary for that approval. Now the eo.ws has 100% of the required translations, and 3 or more active users in seven months in the last eight. But that isn't the point. i'm worried about "verify test project content with a reliable neutral source, such as a professor or expert". Is this something we, in the project, have to provide? should we ask the internacional associations or will you do that? is there something we can do to prepare ourselves for the next criteria? Thanks in advance. Oh, i almost forgot it. If i can do anything for help you with the other projects, it would be a pleasure. Please see my suggestion above. Я бы хотел поинтересоваться, что еще необходимо латгальской и кабардино-черкесской викам, что сейчас в Инкубаторе (wp/ltg, wp/kbd) для их "выхода в свет" из Инкубатора (сообщения переведены, активность полным ходом? А также "to verify as eligable" вепсскую заявку на страничке Requests for new languages, если это возможно (активность уже три месяца, сообщения переведены), также что еще нужно для ее рождения (wp/vep)?. Двухфальфавитность в AzWikipedia edit
Здраствуйте Aмир. Вы можете помочь нам с двухальфавитностью в AzWikipedia. У нас два альфавита (арабский и латыница). - Я мог бы помочь, но для начала человек, хорошо знающий язык, должен определить правила перевода из латинского в арабский и обратно. Из латинского в арабский это может быть возможно, а из арабского в латинский - скорее всего невозможно, так как в арабском нет больших и маленьких букв, и пишутся не все гласные.

- Я боюсь, что так будет и в азербайдзанском.
- Например, как можно перевести "زئینبپاشا" в "Zeynəb Paşa"? Между буквами ن и ب нет гласной и компьютер не может просто угадать, что там надо написать 'ə'; кроме того, компьютер не может угадать, что پ это большая 'P', а не маленькая 'p'.

Привет! Ты не поможешь перенести версию Заглавной страницы на иврите (עמוד_ראשי) в новый унифицированный дизайн? Нужно перейти на Template:Other languages/Template:Main Page, нажать на свою красную ссылку, перевести названия разделов в открывшемся шаблоне и сохранить. После чего использовать ссылки для редактирования каждой секции, в том же режиме. После завершения можно заменить текст на старой странице на включение {{Main Page/he}} (как это сделано для русской). Is it allowed in Wikipedia? edit
To keep in the pages of wiki Administrator's personnel thesis? at http://sd.wikipedia.org ? Other problem is We call Computer as same in English, but admin forcibly used his word Ganpukar of Computer. I have proof that thousands of published books called it Computer not Ganpukar. If some one oppose him he started abusive language. That is the reason sd.wikipedia.org never got attraction to Sindhi community. Plz check record there. Other things are he locked CSS due to that on the same site there are lot of font styles appeared there. He is not able to set commonCSS or Monocss. We are in trouble to work in our local Sindhi language. I don't know where to say for this problem. Record history says all the situation there. I appeal plz warn him to follow en.wikipedia.org rules, other wise he will continue use his personnel details and personnel promoted articles there. Dear I am sorry If u r not right person to say all about this, Plz suggest me where I can raise this issue. My sd.wikipedia.org ID is same. No italics in Hebrew edit

- It's probably one of those urban legends about Hebrew - that Hebrew doesn't have italics. I have never read in any serious source that it's so bad to use Italics in Hebrew and i want the translation to stick to the original as much as possible. Correct me if i'm wrong. --Amir E. - As a volunteer, i do a little bit of work to promote it to Circassians, because i happen to have Circassian friends in real life.
- Sakha, Chuvash and Tatar people are doing a very impressive job themselves - it may seem slow, but they are thorough and consistent.
- Most of the other languages you mentioned are indeed developing too slowly. I am not aware of any particular plans to promote them, although i agree that it would be wonderful.
- If you are asking me in my capacity as a language committee member, then it is not really the committee's job to promote languages; its job is only to make sure that all languages get a fair chance to run a project. The language committee simply doesn't have the capacity to promote it - that is the job of local volunteer activists and chapters.
- If you know any of these languages or have friends who know them, it would be great if you could do some promotion work yourself. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 10:13, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- Udmurt, Erzya, Moksha and Komi Wikipedias need more native speakers to contribute. Adyghe Wikipedia could serve native Adyghe speakers from Turkey and Israel, and maybe a project of Wikimedia Turkey and WMIL in the future.

- You can change the languages about which you are notified on this page: Special:TranslatorSignup.
- According to this page, Bulgaria doesn't participate in Wiki Loves Monuments this year, so I didn't define Bulgarian as a language to which that page should be translated. - Thank you very much for the translation.
- The problem is that you made a technical mistake. This translation system works similarly to translatewiki.net, with which you are experienced: you are supposed to translate every part by itself. Your mistake is that you translated the whole page in the first chunk.
- What you can do is this:
- Go to the translation page.
- Copy each part of the translation that you already made to the right chunks.

With regard to your blogpost, note that mail:mobile-feedback-l is not linked anywhere, not even Mobile projects/Contribute; last time I checked it, I found it mostly a trashbin, it's not said anywhere who's checking it and it's impossible to coordinate; it would probably be best served by an OTRS queue. As for bugzilla, it's a huge mess because there are not even component descriptions (or pages describing "official apps" on our wikis), so it's absolutely impossible to understand where to file bugs or what bugs are referring to, see bugzilla:41922. - I've been told that it was, in fact, an OTRS queue, and it was too heavy for OTRS, so it was redirected to mobile-feedback. I think that it's wrong, because the auto-replies in OTRS would be quite useful for it; in fact, these auto-replies are the only good feature of OTRS :)
- It's not a total trashbin - SNR is indeed very low, but at least some of the feedback is useful. The process needs a lot of improvement, of course. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 11:19, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- Mailing lists, unless they're in "read only"/guestbook mode and people don't expect an answer, are good only if one replies on list, which wouldn't make sense; or if there's only one person replying to everyone, which is I suppose the case currently but is surely not an improvement over an OTRS queue. The solution would seem to use an OTRS queue again but with more liberal access, keeping maybe the list only as a browsable archive for bug triagers/junkies. --Nemo 13:00, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

- No, sorry. I'm nowhere near being able to make a proper translation. I barely remember the letters. I can try to tackle it word-by-word with a dictionary, kinda understand maybe half of the words, and most likely not understand the whole quote. And even that will take me at least an hour.

Hello, I see that you have translation administrator flag but you didn't use it recently (about 5 months); if I'm mistaken, forgive me and consider the rest of the message for what it's worth. The current wording of the policy says «Meta administrators are able to add (and remove) themselves to the group if they are willing to help other users or need it», so you can add it to yourself at any time; but you may consider removing it for now. I put this in promptly (see bugzilla:47552). The first day, someone looked, categorized it as not having to do with Wikidata client, but with Modern and Monospace skins, and reclassified it. Dear Amire80, I am contacting you to introduce myself. My name is Jessica Robell and I have recently joined the Wikimedia Foundation as a part of the fundraising team. My work will be focused to a large extent around translations. I am very interested in finding engaged Wikipedians, such as yourself, who would be interested in contributing with their time to translate shorter text from English to Hebrew. A warm thank you for your contributions you have made so far! We will continue using the translation extension for this purpose. We have for example recently posted a 'Thank you letter' from the Wikimedia Foundation's ED Sue Gardner using the translation extension. - The Glossay page is curretly a work in progress, it is difficult to link to it from translated pages without lots of maintenance. I've made a few improvements in it, but it's far from being finished, and work is still need to merge entries in existing pages usin the old manual system.
- I've been bold on Meta to make a lot of page translatable, and autolinkable for a lot of languages, and also being categorized automatically by language (with categories creatable with two clicks, and maintained fully synchronized with the English pages and categories using the new Translate system.
- You'll note also that I have consistantly checked pages so their RTL layouts are respected (notably in Hebrew and Arabic) and that they no longer produce errors in Indic scripts (due to localization of digits in numeric expressions: for now MediaWiki expressions do not accept numbers in localized forms: there's the constant ambiguity in localized between the role of the comma for example, but MediaWiki should support Indic, Arabic, and Perso-Arabic digits without using kludges in templates; so I systematically check also the uses of date/time formats).
- For Hebrew, you'll note that the most important categories are now translatable (and they are part of the "Categories" translation group. Using this group, you'll find links to categories with many pages that should be correctly translatable to Hebrew. There are still more work to do. But if you see a red link in a category ending in "/he", that category can be created by following the link: it wil drive your directly to the translation interface: fill in at least one translation unit (the category page title, or the category description sentence, and you'll see how you'll easily navigate now in translated categories of Meta-Wik with lots of pages that should now be simpler to translate (and faster, with also less errors because most long wiki syntax for links is now hidden) than they were before my work on them.
- When the situation will stabilize with much less work to do, may be I'll take more time to document how all this works, but other users can look at how I built these categories. Now Meta-Wiki is really a multilingual friendly site ! verdy_p (talk) 17:01, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Request for feedback on my GSoC'14 proposal edit

I am planning to work on the project titled "Tools for mass migration of legacy translated wiki content" this summer under Google Summer of Code. I have drafted a proposal for the same over the past few weeks. This project is going to help the translation adminstrators like you in a great way, as it would completely automate the tedious manual task of preparing a page for translation and then importing the translations into the Translate extension. You can check the proposal page for detailed information on how I plan to accomplish this.
As you would be an end user of this tool, it would be great if you could go through the proposal and provide feedback/suggestions. Your feedback would definitely help me improve the proposal as well help in creating an even better tool. - I want to support Western Balochi language at Wikipedia, because its my native language and I want to work for our language, the Balochi language is a macro language have a several dialect, that every dialect have with each other difference now we have wiki test in Southern balochi language (bcc) but I cannot understand all this language, its language of South of Balochistan and we live in North Balochistan( Afghanistan) and our dialect are difference , so we want to start a new wiki test (bgn)[33] Western Balochi and in our native language its (Balochi Rakhshani= بلوچی رخشانی) this language spoken in Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkemnistan, Uzbekistan and other countries. - English to Esperanto using machine translation: OK

- You understood correctly.
- We wanted to enable English as a source language, because a lot of articles are translated from it to other language, but we didn't want to enable machine translation in any language pair unless we had a confirmation that it actually works well. Esperanto speakers said that the machine translation from English to Esperanto was OK, so we enabled it, and we haven't got such a confirmation from other languages yet, and we prefer to be on the safe side. In the future we shall probably enable more machine translation language pairs. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 09:42, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

Som ja un grupet d'interessats que col·labora freqüentment transcrivint i llegint pàgines en napoletà gràcies a wikisource (multilingual). Hem acabat amb la localització (check) i tenim un munt de pàgines (dona-li una ullada al projecte i al catanalysis). En els pròxims anys esperem transcriure'n moltes més i fer créixer la biblioteca en la nostra llengua. Добрый день!
Участник распространяет не соответствующую действительности информацию на своей ЛС в отношение редакторов одного из разделов Википедии и вводит несведущих в заблуждение по поводу своего статуса в данном разделе. Им была удалена моя запись на своей СО, в которой я наглядно показал несостоятельность его утверждения.

Прошу Вас, как админа, оценить надпись русскими буквами в верхней части личной страницы участника Berihert на предмет нарушения правил о недопустимости оскорблений национальных чувств других участников. В связи с глобализацией личных страниц на Мете эту страницу видно теперь в других разделах, в том числе русском. А так как надпись добавлена 24 февраля, т.е. уже после включения глобализации, то можно предположить, что добавлена она преднамеренно с очень определённой целью. Hello!
You are invited to join the 2nd edition of the VisualEditor Translathon! It is a translation rally, focused on interface messages and help pages related to VisualEditor.
In order to participate, you need to sign up on the Translathon page. The top 3 contributors will each win a Wikipedia t-shirt of their choice from the Wikipedia store.[1] Translations made between July 15th and July 19th (CDT time zone) qualify.[2]
If you are attending Wikimania Mexico this year, you are also welcome to join a related sprint during the Hackathon in Workplace 1 - Don Américo, Thursday 16 July at 4:00 p.m (CDT) at the conference venue, so you can meet other fellow translators and get support if you need some.
Interface messages have the priority. You will need to create an account at translatewiki.net in order to work on them, if you don't have one. It is recommended to create the account ASAP, so that it can be manually confirmed in time.
You can also help translate documentation pages about VisualEditor on mediawiki.org. You can use your Wikipedia account there. You will find instructions, links and other details on the Translathon page.

Translation tool/Incubator/Wikivoyage edit
Hi Amire! I see that your translation tool is quite powerful. It is not only for Wikipedia but it should be great for incubator and Wikivoyage as well. Do you have plans to get it employed on this two projects soon?
My plan is to revive Wy/th on incubator with this new tool. Currently, we have 187 articles. We have maintained 3 editors per month from 201303 to 201402 (exactly one year). It is not clear to me what why it was not approved during the one year period. I would be grateful if you can give specific suggestions and specific time-frame to revive the project and streamline the approval process. --Taweethaも (talk) 16:26, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

- As a Test Admin of Wp/khw Khowar Wikipedia Project I on behalf of the Khowar language communities of Pakistan, Afghanist, India and Xinjiang(China) humbly request the all respectable members of the language comittee for early approval, creation of Khowar Wkipedia i.e. khw.wikipedia.org. The Khowar language is spoken in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Xingjiang(China). I have created a test page for Khowar language in incubator i.e. Wikipedia Khowar (Khowar Language Wikipedia), On behalf of the abovementioned Khowar speaking four countries for early approval and creation and normalization of Khowar Wikipedia edition. Khowar is one of spoken 14 languages in Chitral(Pakistan). It will be useful to Khowar internet users to report news from worldwide. I strongly feel it deserves its own Wikipedia. - I'm not sure which schema change are you referring to. It will help me if you give a link.
- For what it's worth, I can confirm that to the best of my knowledge, Jaime is right as far as reality goes: WMF has only one DBA, and he has a very large backlog. DBA tasks that my projects need are also delayed because of this. I can only hope that there will be more people doing this (that includes possible volunteer help). --Amir E. Request for Input - New Central Notice request process edit
Hello!
Back in February I emailed the CN-admin list regarding part of my role to look into the Central Notice process and see where we could make improvements including: the campaign process; its functionality or lack thereof; and fundamentally the documentation that supports it. You can see many of the issues that I identified at CentralNotice/Process_Review. If there is anything additional that you feel has been left out then please feel free to leave any comments on the talk page.
My first task is to improve the requesting of campaigns by communities and affiliates. I am looking to set up a more formal request process, similar to those used in many projects. The aim is to: increase the transparency of Central Notice; improve the support provided to affiliates (including making such support more consistent); to provide a forum for community input into campaigns.
I have been working on a very rough strawman version of the process and I would be interested in hearing you comments about what such a process should involve and what you think it would require. Please feel free to leave such comments at the process talk page section. I would like to have a working page in place by the end of May. This would not need to be a final version. The process can be improved upon over time as we learn about how well it works.
Given your role as a Meta Administrator who is active in the area of Central Notice, I encourage you to:
- Review the strawman request page and request template and make changes as you feel necessary
- Leave comments
- Join the centralnotice-admins mailing list

Проблема в том, что люди пытаются нажимать "Файл поныны" и получают непонятный им английский интерфейс (в качестве иностранного языка в Удмуртии в основном изучают, как я понял, немецкий, а не английский). С другой стороны, я сейчас попробовал воспроизвести ситуацию - и у меня получается русский язык. Возможно, что совсем недавно исправили (удмурты говорят, что проблема была как минимум пару недель тому назад), а возможно, дело в каких-нибудь настройках у меня. Dr Bug (Vladimir V. - Это странновато. Я тоже вижу, что ссылка «Файл поныны» указывает на Викисклад с добавкой «?uselang=udm», что должно дать желаемый результат. Если это до сих пор не работает, пошлите мне пожалуйста снимок экрана.
- Кроме того добавлю, что в наши дни эта ссылка уже не очень-то нужна, потому что несколько месяцев назад наконец-то стало возможно загружать файлы прямо во время правки страницы.
- В Визуальном редакторе: Вставить -> Медиафайл -> Загрузить.
- В старом редакторе: Встроенный файл -> Загрузить.
- В обоих редакторах можно просто перетащить файл с компьютера в окно редактора.

It shows that you find the opinion of every contributor worthless. Does it cost much to first ask on the talk page whether people are ok with disbanding it and replacing it with something else?

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

Hi Amire, Currently a talk held in Urdu Wikipedia about appropriate Urdu equivalent of Wiki Loves Monuments here which resulted in favor of "ویکی محبوب یادگاریں". So WLM article on Urdu Wiki moved to this. Now we would like here in Meta to replace all previous Urdu equivalents with this in all places and banners and it should be used in future as well. Currently a banner about WLM competition displaying in Urdu with old one, so we request you to change this notice as:

Please help Wp/inh! For a long time our project remained inactive. However, during more than a year, the project is actively developing. We have done a lot in that time. We have nearly 1,000 articles. Made categorization, develop templates, and more. Wikipedia Ingush was launched in test mode in 2007. Almost 10 years! Please pay attention to our section. Ingush Wikipedia has a right to be approved and have its own domain. We Hope for your help.
