Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat
←Requests and proposals | Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat (at Meta-Wiki only) | Archives (current)→ |
Meta-Wiki has a small active community. When a normal user requires the assistance of an administrator or bureaucrat for some particular task, it is not always easy to find one. This page helps users find one when they need one; asking specific admins directly via their talk pages is one way to elicit a fast response. It is only for assistance required at Meta-Wiki, help for other wikis needs to be requested at those wikis.

- Unresolving to decide what to do with the above user pages. The wmflabs.org link still work, but may stop working at some point. If the update is not urgent, I'd rather let these users edit their user JS pages themselves. Thoughts? —MarcoAurelio (talk) 22:03, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- I think that users can fix their own js, there is no requirement for us to intervene. It is not as though these are expected or focus pages for other users. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:34, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- Courtesy ping to @Yahya, @SHEKH, @XinuGod, @Sakura emad and @Tryvix1509 so they are aware of the URL change and can update their JS pages accordingly. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 22:39, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Request for patroller right Edit
I am TA here. I would like to patroll pages that are not patrolled(mainly translations into Japanese). I have patrolled many pages on Japanese Wikipedia. Thank you.--Chqaz (talk) 08:23, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- Comment I had a look at your contribution history here on meta.wiki, also your global account status shows that you are editing in several projects with confirmed/extendedconfirm flag. Thus, I support your request, just I'd like to hear a second opinion, since I do not feel competent about Eastern language projects. --M/ (talk) 08:35, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Requesting closure of Requests for comment/Vote of confidence on sysops and unblock for user Deu on kawiki Edit
It seems that though binded by the RfC policy, a routine check of RfC activities does not actually exist. —— Eric Liu(Talk) 16:03, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Ericliu1912: What do you seriously want from a local admin with that RfC? I can go and close it and then what? Go and talk to the stewards, it is not one for us. I also doubt that the stewards will or can do much with regard to intervention. If it was something sitting within special:prefixindex/Meta:Requests for comment, then maybe asking hear would work, but not on the globals. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:29, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
- Per the policy, "Only Meta administrators and stewards can close RFCs." and "Requests for comment that are inactive for more than 2 years can be marked as closed due to inactivity." So it is indeed "one for you." Or I guess this page is not for requests for help from a local sysop or bureaucrat, then I'm sorry. —— Eric Liu(Talk) 13:54, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
Closed. --MF-W 18:26, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- Seriously Ericliu1912?!? Please do not selectively quote as the very next sentence says Only stewards can close any RFC requiring steward action or changing global policy. which would be that one is. We can address things that impact locally, however, not issues at other wikis. Admins can address issues that relate to metawiki in the broadest sense. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:26, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Block request for User:Aicsm skills Edit
Please block User:Aicsm skills for self promotion by only creating a userpage for promoting 'AICSM' and with AICSM in their name. They are only here to promote AICSM and have been blocked on other wikis and have only ever made promotional edits. Terasail[✉️] 11:14, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
They were spamming on Wikipedia, later claimed that their account was hacked. They were blocked for having a compromised account. They have started editing Meta-Wiki. High risk of future vandalism. They should be blocked for having a compromised account, in spite of the fact that this is dubious, because of AGF. Janhrach (talk) 07:53, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
