Meta:Requests for CheckUser information

Requests and proposals Requests for CheckUser information on Meta-Wiki (for other wikis please go to here) Archives (current)→
This page allows you to request CheckUser information on Meta.
Procedure
  • Please read the CheckUser policy before asking for a check.
  • When adding new requests, please use the {{checkuser}} template to list the user names in question and {{checkip}} for IP adresses, which simplifies investigation.
  • List your request at the bottom of the "Requests for Meta-Wiki only" heading.
  • When asking for a check we need to know:
    • why do you believe that the accounts are related (please present evidence for that with the help of diffs, etc.),
    • why, if the accounts are related, they are being used abusively, in violation of policy; and
    • why a block or other measures can't be justified without the need of technical evidence.

Requests for Meta-Wiki onlyEdit

MogoeilorEdit

The 2nd and 3rd account (created today) appeared totally unsuspiciously on Talk:Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Northern Luri Wikipedia to defend the project, whose main contributor is Mogoeilor, editing the main page of the proposal. --MF-W 22:44, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Done - @MF-Warburg: accounts are technically   Unrelated, though from the behaviour likely meatpuppets. – Ajraddatz (talk) 23:27, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

New casesEdit

New users keep creating accounts Amir (talk) 19:29, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

@Ladsgroup: What is the abuse here? Suggesting that there is more support than in reality is? Trijnsteltalk 09:45, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
@Trijnstel: Yes. Amir (talk) 09:47, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
It's   Possible, but I really can't make a clear connection between these three. Trijnsteltalk 10:06, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

James SalsmanEdit

See Editor Interaction Analyser. Both Salsman and Ellen have an interest in AI, Foundation governance, and moderate center-left causes. In 2016, EllenCT supported a grant request by James Salsman four minutes before he added himself as a participant. There are additional... offwiki considerations I have brought to light privately to Ajraddatz. –MJLTalk 16:20, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

Middle accounts are stale. James Salsman and EllenCT are   Confirmed, though based on behavioural evidence I expect they are meatpuppets or two people editing from the same computer rather than one person. – Ajraddatz (talk) 16:31, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
Additional comment, since EllenCT has now been blocked both here and on enwiki: Based on behavioural evidence that is new to me, I agree that there is a high likelihood that User:EllenCT is a sock, not a meatpuppet. Both accounts (EllenCT and James Salsman) have been engaging in sockpuppetry and disruptive editing/offwiki behaviour, so the blocks are warranted either way. – Ajraddatz (talk) 01:08, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Nrcprm2026 (talk contribs deleted contribs logs block user block log CentralAuth AllContribs checkuser) blocked based on enwp CU / block log. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 11:49, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

Jack B WilliamsonEdit

Long-term cross-wiki abuse. See en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Brian K Horton for the English Wikipedia investigations. Jack B Williamson (block log) and Bernard Griffin (block log) have already been blocked as sockpuppets of Brian K Horton on the English Wikipedia. Karl Harrington has complained about the block of Bernard Griffin in Special:Diff/20528789. — Newslinger talk 09:04, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

See also the Steward requests/Global#Global lock for sockpuppets of Jack B Williamson for the pending global lock request. — Newslinger talk 09:08, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
Added one. — Newslinger talk 23:39, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
