The event was created as part of the Program "Onda Digital",[6] which intends to expand the understanding of internet and open knowledge in Bahia. A partnership between Onda Digital and Wikimedia volunteers has been suggested in order to make this training permanent on this course.
On this training, the Five Pillars of Wikipedia are raised and many other basic rules of Wikipedia that are derived or related with them are taught. We also learned how to create accounts and use the Translation tool.

The User Group has been active in this partnership with Joalpe and Sturm. This activity has been done in direct relation with Brazil's first Wikipedian-in-residence, Horadrim,[15] who has been funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation.[16][17][18][19] In September, a second Wikipedian-in-residence joined the team, to work specifically on improving the Brazilian community around audible entries on Wikipedia (reference page to be confirmed). Wikipedians-in-residence receive public funding from the São Paulo Research Foundation.
