Wiki Movimento Brasil (WMB) is a Brazilian non-profit association affiliated to the Wikimedia Foundation. Founded in 2013, WMB seeks, among other goals: to amplify, improve and diversify the content and community among Wikimedia projects, especially Wikipedia; and support the role of social organizations in the open knowledge ecosystem. We present the following plan for 2024 in order to fulfill our mission.
Main Deliverables
Main deliverables are identity-shaping initiatives of Wiki Movimento Brasil for this year, typically associated with more profound learning processes. In each one of these initiatives, we have set success measures.
Success measures for main deliverables include, not exhaustively:
- Funding opportunities;
- Brand strengthening;
- Experimentation and learning;
- Long-term community capacity building;
- Under-represented knowledge focus;
- Impact topic framing;
- Promotion of open source and science; and

Wiki Loves Mato Grosso
Wiki Loves Mato Grosso, drawing inspiration from other Wiki Loves campaigns, encompasses a series of planned activities aimed at infusing the environmental, cultural, and social diversity of the Mato Grosso state into Wikimedia projects. These activities include wikicontests, university student training, a local community engagement event, and collaborative partnerships with cultural institutions to curate digital collections, all with the overarching goal of enriching Wikimedia content and fostering broader participation in documenting Mato Grosso's unique heritage and traditions.
Overall success will rest upon our capacity to steer a sustainable open knowledge community in Mato Grosso and to overcome content gap about this state on Wikimedia projects.

Implementation Plans
Implementation plans serve as roadmaps for guiding and directing specific areas of work within WMB. These documents outline the guidelines and strategies that will shape the organization's actions, ensuring they are aligned with broader objectives and focused on achieving specific outcomes that were established with participation from diverse stakeholders and validated by WMB's governance bodies. These plans define responsibilities and establish goals to facilitate the organization's commitment to transparency and accountability, allowing WMB to make informed decisions, track performance, and adapt to evolving challenges and opportunities.
WMB's Communications Strategic Plan is being developed under the responsibility of Communications Management and embodies a blueprint aimed at enhancing the visibility of WMB within the broader public sphere and the Wikimedia Movement. It places an emphasis on cultivating a dynamic online presence, harnessing the power of social media platforms, and forging strategic partnerships to amplify the dissemination of free knowledge. The plan underscores the importance of transparent and timely communication with WMB's community members, stakeholders, and the public. The plan will also include a branding strategy, to ensure that WMB's visual identity remains not only recognizable but also aligned with the organization's mission and values. The plan is being designed by a dedicated community committee and will be assessed by WMB's General Assembly.
WMB's Financial Diversity Plan was developed under the responsibility of Fund and Administration Management, serving as a guideline to enhance the financial sustainability of Wikimedia in Brazil. This plan encompasses a wide range of strategies, including diversifying funding sources, optimizing resource allocation, and fostering partnerships with both national and international organizations. It also provides a timeline to structure funding stream opportunities: direct donation, revenue tax relief donation and outreach to major national and foreign donors. A specific aspect of the plan implementation for 2024 is the launching of the financial strategy for WikiCon Brasil 2025. This plan includes confidential information and is not publicly available.
