2018 report overdue

Wikimedia affiliates out of compliance

Hi Dumisani, you added two categories to Wiktionary/Tremendous Wiktionary User Group, namely "Wikimedia affiliates out of compliance" and "Initial compliance review". Categories

Hi. I see that you have created a bunch of categories such as Category:Annual report submitted or Category:Wikimedia affiliates in good standing. Could you have them themselves categorised so that they are a part of the main category tree and not just left being orphans. You might need to create some meta categories in the process. The Wikinewsie Group

I noticed you added this page to Category:Formerly recognized Wikimedia affiliates. There's a can of worms, there; TWG requested affiliate status, after careful consideration AffCom recommended it, and the WMF (for, if I'm being honest, what appeared to be purely political reasons) appears to have ignored AffCom's protracted study of the matter and overridden the recommendation to deny affiliation, giving TWG instead a "user group" status that was of no use to us whatsoever and we had never asked for. The key point here being, TWG has never been a recognized Wikimedia affiliate, so it would seem on the face of it inaccurate to put TWG in Category:Formerly recognized Wikimedia affiliates. --Pi zero (talk) 14:37, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Where are the instructions for how a Wikimedia affiliate can meet compliance?

@Peaceray:, As per User Group agreement terms, groups have their affiliation renewed automatically every year unless they have not submitted their latest activities report.

In the case of Cascadia Wikimedians, your report became due at the end of December 2019. We allow a curtesy month before, posting an intial review and marking the group out of compliance. Once you submit your group's report, you will go back into compliance. If you need more time to complete the report, you can send me an email requesting for extension of the reporting deadline.

Report draft

Hi. I am starting to draft the Reports of my User group (Wikiclassics). Please let me know if there is something I should specifically take care. I am in a busy workload so I would prefer not to miss something important (deadline is May, 9th). @Alexmar983:, the draft looks good, I would only recommend you add a section about the group, where you can detail things such as group meetings, change of leadership and even group group in different areas or countries. RU-NC and BAK reports and compliance

Hello, Dumisani. I found this table on Meta, and I see that RU-NC (Wikipedians of North Caucasus) and BAK (Wikimedians of Bashkortostan) are indicated as “Noncompliant” user groups. I have done very detailed reports on the activities of both groups for 2020 (RU-NC; BAK) and 2021 (RU-NC; BAK), and it is very strange to me that those groups are categorized as “Noncompliant.” Each time I made reports on time and added them to the table here. I am also concerned about the fact that there are no WMF reviews on these reports — as if all my (and my colleagues as well) work was wasted. You could at least add a report to the category “Accepted” or “Not accepted” with an explanation of what we should correct. I absolutely accidentally discovered this first table, where both of my groups, for some reason, are marked as “Noncompliant,” and no one even contacted me about this situation. — Soul Train (talk) 14:38, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal/Reports

Hi! I was looking for up-to-date information on UG activities just this week, and left a message here for your colleague, but am now noticing your pings on several talkpages on the topic. Will this page be updated any time soon? If not, is there a different page that one can review the status of affiliates (as a non-WMF person)?

Context: we are creating a draft for the ratification process for one of the MovStrat goals, and insights in the compliance of affiliates is one of the bottle necks in the process outline still. In the field "languages supported by affiliate" on the WAD portal, the gungbe language is not included in the drop-down. Please assist to update this. The annual report of the group of Wikimedians of Peru User Group for 2022 was sent on January 20 through the Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal. This report also appears in the existing reports section of the Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal. The list of all the previous reports can be found on the page of the Wikimedistas de Perú user group.

Can you please indicate if there is another page in the Wikimedia Affiliates Data Portal where I should send the report?

Hello, @DNdubane. I've noticed that you removed Wikimedistas de Ecuador from the list of Wikimedia user groups due to our Affiliation status has lapsed. I'm part of the user group, but I had no idea if this decision was took because of a missing annual report or something else. We were trying to reactivate our organization; it was difficult but our members still want to be part of the events. Need for Clarification regarding Fulfulde Wikimedians Community User Group Application

Hello @DNdubane (WMF), we have been applying for recognition as a community of editors working on Fulfulde language version of Wikipedia since 2022 but our application got rejected and without a word from members of the AffCom in order to learn what has been the reason behind the rejection or get to know what else needs to be done to meet the requirements if there's anything missing.
