Basque Wikimedians User Group

Basque Wikimedians User Group — official name, in Basque: Euskal Wikilarien Kultura Elkartea or EWKE — is a group formed by active members of Basque Wikimedia projects who are interested in organizing and participating in outreach activities on a Basque Country level. It was formed in 2016, shen some users started a collaboration with the San Sebastian - European Capital of Culture 2016 (Q12256350). In 2017 EWKE started a long-time education project funded by the Basque Government, where thousands of students have contributed to improve Wikipedia. In 2019 we made the first ever Wikimedia+Education conference and since 2020 we have been working also with the Government of Navarre. Currently, we are a group with more than 50 members and 5 staff members, devoted to education, GLAM, multimedia projects and Basque language.
