Introduction edit
Wikipedians of North Caucasus User Group officially recognized by the Affiliations Committee on 23 October 2019. Below is the second annual report of our user group for the period from 23 October 2020 to 23 October 2021 (hereinafter — Annual Report 2021).

| 1–31 October 2020 | Co-organizing and participation in the Wiki Loves Caucasus 2020 international contest (online). — A new edition in the language of the North Caucasus debuted in the contest. During the event, user Omarov M. created 15 articles in the Avar Wikipedia. — All other Russian Wikipedia editions, related to the North Caucasus, have increased their number of created articles. — Participants from the Lezgi Wikipedia (Mugerganets (36), Samurskaya (15), and User from Dag) created a total of 52 articles (30 in 2019) — Participants from the Ossetian Wikipedia (Уалион (41), Amikeco (26), Taamu, and Sofie Tole) created a total of 68 articles (13 in 2019) — Participants from the Chechen Wikipedia (Саид Мисарбиев (52) and Simba16 (55)) created a total of 107 articles (30 in 2019). — Participants from the Russian Wikipedia (11 users) created a total of 370 articles (144 in 2019). |

| 1–30 November 2020 | Lezgi and Avar Wikipedias made their debut participation in the Asia Month. — Samurskaya and User from Dag from the Lezgi Wikipedia became “Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors.” — Omarov M. from the Avar Wikipedia became “Wikipedia Asian Ambassador.” |

| 27 November – 20 December 2020 | Participation in the “Our Universities” article competition. — User Said Misarbiev (Chechen WP) finished in 11th place in the nomination in the languages of the peoples of Russia (out of prizes). — User Mugerganets (Lezgi WP) finished in 16th place in the nomination in the languages of the peoples of Russia (out of prizes). |

| 19 January 2021 | The results of the Russian part of the WLM-2020 international photo competition have been summed up. Among the 10 winners — a photo showing the Architectural complex “Dargavs” in North Ossetia. Photo by Alexander Baidukov. |  |
| 12 February 2021 | The founders of the Group decided to establish a governing body — the Council. Our Council includes the following users: Soul Train, Amikeco, Takhirgeran Umar, Mugerganets. The number of members of the Council can be increased as a result of democratic discussion. |

| 8 March – 8 May 2021 | Participation in the “WikiGap 2021 Russia” competition. — User Said Misarbiev (Chechen WP) finished in 4th place in the nomination “Outstanding women of Russia” in the languages of the peoples of Russia. — User Mugerganets (Lezgi WP) finished in 11th place in the same nomination (out of prizes). |

| April 2021 | We are fixing a sad bug (together with Amir Aharoni and WMF technicians) — there is a Dargin Wikipedia project in the WM Incubator with more than 400 articles there, but in Translatewiki, there was no interface for translating into the Dargin literary language. We also want to left a request to create an interface for the Tsudakhar language (one of the languages of the Dargin group) and plan to create the Incubator of the Tsudakhar Wikipedia. |  |
| 15 September — 30 November 2021 | Participation in the “Alumni and Mentors of Russia-2021” competition (ongoing; the results will be presented in the Annual Report 2022). |  |

| 17-18 December 2020 | Viatcheslav Ivanov made a report on digital platforms in the Ossetian language, with a large part dedicated to the Ossetian Wikipedia, during the educational webinar “The Ossetian language in the digital environment”. Article at Sputnik-Ossetia Video on YouTube |

| 13 April 2021 | A small Online workshop took place at the Lezgi Wikipedia. Murad Shikhahmedov (Mugerganets), assisted by Oleg Abarnikov (Soul Train), created the first article (about Anna Akhmatova) using the Content translation tool. |  |
| 18 April 2021 | A meeting in Moscow with the Lak community was organized by Natalia Senatorova. The topic of the meeting is the revitalization, preservation, and development of the Lak Wikipedia; participants also discussed the translation of MediaWiki's most important messages into Lak language (in April — September 2021, with the help of native speaker Abdulla Abdullayev, we increased the translation of those messages from 12 % up to 99%). | 4-17 July 2021 | Oleg Abarnikov traveled to Armenia, Georgia, as well as the cities of the Russian North Caucasus — Vladikavkaz, Derbent and Makhachkala — Thanks to Mher Bekaryan, Oleg made a wiki-excursion in Yerevan and Holy Etchmiadzin. — Thanks to Vahagn Haykazyan, Oleg made a wiki-excursion in the Temple of Garni and Geghard; he also visited Wikimedia Armenia office. — In Derbent, Oleg and Lezgi Wikipedia administrator, Murad Shikhakhmedov, made a report about Wikipedia and Wiki-Movement to representatives of the Local Lezgin National-Cultural Autonomy. — In Makhachkala, Oleg communicated with activists who want to create Wikipedia in one of the Dargin languages — the Tsudakhar language — and developed a roadmap with them. | 16 October 2021 | A small Online workshop took place at the Lak Wikipedia. User Ruzanna, assisted by Oleg Abarnikov (Soul Train), learned the changes in the MediaWiki and started to edit Wikipedia after a 12-year break. |  |
