Programme WikiArabia

edit

--Helmoony (talk) 16:22, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Helmoony:. Hello Helmy and thank you for your feedback. We are following with attention your messages, and we have even answered the previous one that you have sent about the same subject when we had our grant draft. The fact that there is no submission regarding the GLAM is not our responsibility alone as it is a community driven event and the submissions are open to all depending on their interest. If you think that there are not enough presentations about the GLAM you can suggest some yourself, or contact people who might present about GLAM. As we mentioned when we answered your latest message, we are opening up to other actors and contacting them. I don't know why you suppose that we did not contact them directly already. You could have asked us instead of supposing that we wait for them to read the banner..
Since this is a community driven event, and as you are part of the community, you are very welcome actually to contact them yourself if you want, and if they answer you and express their interest, they are very welcome to submit their presentation. We are working in including all possible areas (and have already contacted the organisms you mentioned), but since you seem extra motivated about these points, we welcome you to contact them also, and if they answer you, that would be a great start! Regards. Anass Sedrati (talk) 17:16, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Adding youth topics?

edit

Hey Anass, I noticed that you added some topics to the list at WikiForHumanRights/List. But those don't look like Youth focused topics -- what makes them in-scope? Astinson (WMF) (talk) 17:37, 4 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

  1. Hello Alex. I took inspiration from the list itself. There are people like Ibtissame Lachgar (born 1975), or Alaa Talbi (born 1978) in the list. The people I added are younger than these 2, so either keep them or remove all. If the question is about their activism, then I can refer you to their wikipedia page. They are all Moroccan human rights activists currently in prison. I hope that this clarifies it :) Anass Sedrati (talk) 17:41, 4 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
I realized that I never gave a proper response to this :P Thanks! I have integrated them on Wikidata as well. Are you interested in promoting the campaign in your language or community? It would be really awesome to identify if there is anything that could happen in Morocco or in Arabic/French? Astinson (WMF) (talk) 22:30, 14 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hello Alex and thank you for your answer :) I have in fact already started promoting the campaign in the Moroccan group and thus the suggestions we had. We will keep working on that, thank you again! Anass Sedrati (talk) 09:18, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Climate denial review

edit

Hello! I saw your name among the Wikimedians for Sustainable Development participants. As you may know, we've started a cross-wiki review on climate denial. I was wondering if you could have a look at the Arabic version, which seems to contain some minor bias. I've listed a few issues on talk. Thanks in advance! Femke (talk) 12:17, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Femkemilene and thank you for reaching out to me. Although I speak Arabic and I am active on the Arabic Wikipedia, I am not very familiar with the area and do not probably have the expertise needed to review these points. However, I know that my colleague Nanour (also active on the Arabic Wikipedia), who is among others member of Wikimedians for Sustainable Development will certainly have more information about this. I suggest that you connect with each other as you can surely have a great collaboration in the future (given your mutual interest for the area). Thank you again for reaching out, and have a good afternoon -- Anass Sedrati (talk) 15:19, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

traduction de la charte

edit

Bonjour Anass, thank you so much for your support today translating for Wikicauserie. I am so grateful for your contributions also in other spaces, and glad we have been able to meet in person even! I am deeply appreciative of your knowledge of our movement which enables you to provide exceptional translation when I have joined francophone spaces, as with today. Merci beaucoup! Bonsoir SDeckelmann-WMF and thank you for your kind words that go directly to my heart! I really appreciated the very rich and instructive event that was held today, and I am happy to hear that my interpretation was useful. I consider myself very lucky to be able to wear many hats, and engage with different communities :) Thank you again. Actually, I was about to send you an email but you were faster with this message. I will email you soon, but meanwhile, I wish you a great weekend! All the best -- Anass Sedrati (talk) 23:08, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
