Name Change not reflected in Fountain

Hi Le Loy, Need your urgent help. I changed from User Name from smjalageri to Gangaasoonu. https://tools.wmflabs.org/fountain/editathons/project-tiger-2.0-kn shows 2 seperate user ID's.

Could you pl merge both these into one?

Having tuff time explaining to judges.

& Next year, Plz provide batch upload feature. 3 Step submission for individual article is very tiring.

Name Change not reflected in Fountain

Hi Le Loy, First of all thank you very much for the fountain tool. I need your help regarding Name Change not reflected in Fountain. I changed my User Name from Vijay B. Barot to Vijay Barot. So I could not see my past participation and contribution in fountain tool. I participated in project Tiger 2.0 and Asian Month 2019. You can use Fountain already: create new editathons by clicking Create new at the main page, then any admin in your language edition can approve it by opening the personal cabinet (click your name at the top of the page) and selecting Approve there.   • You need to be an administrator in the corresponding language edition. Click your name at the top of the screen, you will see this page/ Click Approval there and you'll see a list of editathons to approve. You can also edit them before approving. Happy editing! Hi @Ле Лой:, thank you for sharing this information. We actually did follow the instructions. But there are several complications involved. For instance, the first issue is after publishing the campaign, we are not able to change jury members. Second we are unable to change the criteria for a language edition, like remove the 300 word criteria and third, fountain is not accepting expanded articles.

Customizing Fountain tool

Hi, first of all, thank you much for creating the Fountain tool. However, in many small community-run editathons, where new editors are encouraged to contribute or the topics of contribution does not have much coverage to reach the benchmark set for this tool. Is that possible for you to keep an option for the organizers to set the benchmark based on the parameters that work for their topic(s), community size and other important local factors? --Psubhashish (talk) 06:38, 1 March 2020 (UTC)

• Hi Psubhashish, it's my pleasure to see Fountain being helpful to many people! Any editathon organiser can make their own editathon with any rules: no size limit -- OK! Accept articles that have 50 or more words -- OK! Accept any articled that were started after year 2000 -- Sure! There is no requirement to have any requirements :-) There are however some editathons that are organised internationally (like Wikipedia Asian Month) that have some international rules and international awards. • Hi ज्ञानदा गद्रे-फडके! Actually any jury member can do that. If they click the little arrow-like drop-down button next to the 'Submit' button, a 'Manage' menu item appears. After clicking it they would see a list of all articles submitted. They can select one or more articles that should be deleted from the editathon and then click 'Remove'. • Is it possible to add more mark for each section? Wiktionary follows a strict format and a simple article must have a meaning section. Pronunciations, synonyms, etc sections are optional. --Tofeiku (talk) 00:58, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

You can have many individual buttons that add 1 point (for example, if there are several criteria), many buttons that add different amount of points (+1, +1, +3, +4, +4 etc) or just one control that allows you to choose the overall score (say, from 0 or even −5 to 50).     • Individual buttons would be better. I want new created article +2, expanded in existing article +1, having each other section in an article +1. For example, a newly created article with Pronunciation and Synonyms section would be 4 marks.       • Rachmat (WMID) the thing is, if an editathon is created by a non-admin of the corresponding language edition, it needs to be approved by an admin. Dear Sebastian Wallroth! Here's a little explainer :-) Hope it's reasonably clear.
Say, if we have 7 jury members and the setting is 3. There are 150 articles in the editathon. All of the articles were marked by 2 jury members or more so here we see "0 articles need to be marked" https://i.imgur.com/jyTLBSs.png
Now let's change the setting to 3. Now there are 39 articles that have only 2 marks. And now we see that I can help with all of them https://i.imgur.com/5lS9gSf.png
Let's look at a different editathon. Here we have 3 jury members and the setting is 2. As a jury member, I see that 115 articles need marks (there are no marks there or only 1; less than the setting). At the same time, only 62 articles need MY mark -- I've marked the rest! Could please create it then? It would be difficult to find an admin who'd come and do this on time, also having to learn a new process just for this. This admin rule should be somehow be revisited and other user groups added too. Being an admin is not a guarantee to anything. Trusted users should be allowed to create an editathon. Word counting

I've made some test with the Preview/Show tool and I've noticed that the tool do not consider the text inside a bullet list. As a mere example look at voy:it:Roma (disambigua) whose word count is 0.

This should be an easy fix; could you support?

More complex is the following that is quite necessary for Wikivoyage where almost all the articles are based on the voy:it:template:listing. Almost each element is described in this way (these are the Italian name, but each language version has teh equivalent template):

Hi Andyrom75, this is by design. Fountain encourages users to write coherent text instead of lists with individual words. Disambiguation pages usually do not participate in editathons. If your project wants to allow them, you can delete the minimum size requirements and allow the jury members to decide if the page is big enough for a "Yes" mark. I think Wikivoyage is quite unique in this: most other projects do not format their pages as long lists. Le Loy 21:45, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Andyrom75, sorry for the wait. I looked into it and it seems like I can make this change but there is one problem. Most of the sections are wrapped into templates like {{to do}} and these templates add a <div>. I exclude divs from the count because they are used in image captions and other block inserts (that aren't tables). I've looked into it:voy:Template:Listing and I've seen the presence of a BDI tag (originally it was a SPAN tag), but I haven't seen a DIV tag. Could you tell me where you see it?

Hi, is there a way that Fountain could accept the article Drets del col·lectiu LGBT al Kirguizistan? the author used some translation tool and the article appears as created on the 31.10 at 23:49 h. Fountain 500

Hi, Le Loi has restarted the system. Fountain tool should be able to work now.
