Edit

Mehman 97 09:41, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Le Loy 06:52, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
--Mehman 97 14:44, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Fountain tool for WikiKataEdit

Hello. I would like to have a Fountain tool for an online editathon from 1-31 July 2020 called WikiKata in Malay Wiktionary. I hope you could make a Fountain tool for me. Thanks in advance! --Tofeiku (talk) 08:52, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

  • Hi Tofeiku, please provide the following information:
    • What's the editathon's name in Malay language?
      • WikiKata
    • What is the exact start/end time in UTC?
    • Who are the jury members?
    • Is there any template to add to the talkpage after the article is submitted? Does it have any parameters?
    • What are the submission criteria? Are only new articles accepted? What is the minimum size requirement (in bytes, characters and/or words, excluding references and templates)?
    • What is the marks' system? In WAM it was 'accepted/not accepted', but you can also have additional points or penalty points.
  • Thanks. Le Loy 11:00, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

      • 16:00 UTC 30 June 2020 - 15:59 UTC 31 July 2020

      • Nothing to add to the talkpage.
    • What are the submission criteria? Are only new articles accepted? What is the minimum size requirement (in bytes, characters and/or words, excluding references and templates)?
      • New and old articles are accepted. Minimum 100 bytes.
    • What is the marks' system? In WAM it was 'accepted/not accepted', but you can also have additional points or penalty points.
      • I want to have 'accepted/not accepted' option. I also want additional points for smaller edits which carry 0.5 mark.
      • --Tofeiku (talk) 11:16, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
        • Tofeiku, it is not possible to use non-integral marks. You can multiply everything by 2 and have 0, 1, 2 points as a mark system. Is that OK? Le Loy 23:06, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
          • That works too. Maybe the additional point is 1 and new article is 2. --Tofeiku (talk) 02:27, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
            • Tofeiku, here you go: https://fountain.toolforge.org/editathons/wikikata Enjoy! Le Loy 04:39, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
              • Thank you for making it for me. How different is this tool from the Asian Month version like the markings, etc? I have only used this in Asian Month. --Tofeiku (talk) 04:48, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
                • Should be VERY similar except for that there are 2 buttons: 1 point and 2 points :) Le Loy 05:01, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Additional buttonsEdit

  • Is it possible to add more mark for each section? Wiktionary follows a strict format and a simple article must have a meaning section. Pronunciations, synonyms, etc sections are optional. --Tofeiku (talk) 00:58, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
    • Tofeiku, sure. You can have many individual buttons that add 1 point (for example, if there are several criteria), many buttons that add different amount of points (+1, +1, +3, +4, +4 etc) or just one control that allows you to choose the overall score (say, from 0 or even −5 to 50). Like this: https://i.imgur.com/F89Y5CJ.png Would you prefer individual buttons or one control? Le Loy 00:09, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
      • Individual buttons would be better. I want new created article +2, expanded in existing article +1, having each other section in an article +1. For example, a newly created article with Pronunciation and Synonyms section would be 4 marks. Can the tool detect new created article and the sections automatically? --Tofeiku (talk) 03:33, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
        • Check the point system now please, is this what you were asking for? https://i.imgur.com/a6XM2RO.png There are 2 buttons for new and expanded + a single control to assign up to 6 points for individual sections.
        • 1) yes 2) no. If you look at the article from the jury tool you'll see that articles that were not created during the editathon have a red date in the upper right corner. Le Loy 04:19, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
          • Yes exactly like the screenshot. In this competition, they can expand articles that have been created before the competition. Would that be a problem? Also, can you add a bonus article button too (+1)? --Tofeiku (talk) 04:53, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
            • Nah, no problem. The jury members will have to estimate how much was added / improved manually though. Added the +1 button as well! Le Loy 05:13, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
              • Thank you very much! Can you screenshot the buttons of the tool? I want to show it to the jury members on how to use it. --Tofeiku (talk) 05:33, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
              • Also, please add these usernames as the judges, Awang Rablah, Mutiara1 and Josak Siam. Thank you! --Tofeiku (talk) 11:06, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
                • Tofeiku, done! Click here to see the process :) Le Loy 22:06, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
                  • Can you reduce the requirement to 50 bytes? Thank you. --Tofeiku (talk) 13:01, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Extension dateEdit

Hello. Please extend the end date to 15 August 2020 15:59 UTC. And also decrease the byte limit to 10 bytes. Thank you! --Tofeiku (talk) 02:50, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

  • Hi, sorry for the wait, all done. Le Loy 05:47, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

Request for a new edit-a-thon toolEdit

Dear Ле Лой, I would like to request for setting up our new edit-a-thon on your Fountain tool. The event's name is "Bulan Sejarah Indonesia 2.0", which is a continuation of Bulan Sejarah Indonesia. This event will start on October 1, 2020 at 00:00 UTC and end on October 31, 2020 at 23:59 UTC.

If it is possible, please configure the tool so it will only accept a new-created article with at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for your help! Be safe, Rachmat (WMID) (talk) 14:25, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

  • Hi Rachmat, I can set it up for you but I need to know who are the jury members. Alternatively, you can set it up yourself by clicking Create new on the main page. Le Loy 21:01, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
    • forgot to ping: Rachmat (WMID). Le Loy 23:12, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
      • Hi, Le Loy! Thank you for your response. I have set up an event, however, I couldn't open the tool I created. Could you please check it at this link. I tried to change my browser (to see if it is okay in other browsers), but the tool keeps loading. I wonder if the problem is from my side. :) Thanks! Rachmat (WMID) (talk) 07:58, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
        • Rachmat (WMID) the thing is, if an editathon is created by a non-admin of the corresponding language edition, it needs to be approved by an admin. The idea behind this is so that vandals do not create offensive editathons. I've approved yours, next time any admin can do it here. Le Loy 00:56, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
          • Very nice, thank you very much! One more question if you don't mind: if I would like to reconfigure the tool, for example, we modified the rules thus the criteria of articles submitted by participants that already set on the tool need to be changed, how do I do that? Is it possible to do by myself? Rachmat (WMID) (talk) 07:06, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

┌───────────────────┘
I understand now. Thank you for your kind assistant! Have a nice day! :) Rachmat (WMID) (talk) 02:37, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Wiki of functions and Abstract WikipediaEdit

Hi Ле Лой. I was wondering if you would be able to help translate some content related to the Abstract Wikipedia project. In particular: this short message I plan to send next week; and the intro and first 2 sections (and optionally more!) at Abstract Wikipedia/Wiki of functions naming contest. As a multilingual user, I also hope you might be interested in watching the main project page, and participating more in that entire project in the future, if you're not already! Much thanks if you are able to help with this, and I hope you have a good weekend. Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 23:34, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

  • Hi Quiddity, I've translated the 1st link (3 messages). Le Loy 02:03, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
    • Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions about the project itself. :) Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 19:49, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

Minimum number of votesEdit

Dear Ле Лой, in the German language Wikipedia we have a lot of judges this year. I remember an alert, when not all judges have votet for an article. Can you add an option to silence the alert, when a minimum number of judges have votet, i. e. 3? Thank you in advance, --Sebastian Wallroth (talk) 06:15, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

  • Dear Sebastian Wallroth, done! If you look into any editathon's /config, you'll see that on the Jury tab there now is a Minimum number of marks per article setting that is 1 by default but you can set it as high as the number of the jury members. Le Loy 01:47, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Dear Ле Лой. Thank you. What is the exact effect of this setting? Is the e help page for the administration of the tool? If not, can I help to create one? --Sebastian Wallroth (talk) 05:56, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Dear Sebastian Wallroth! Here's a little explainer :-) Hope it's reasonably clear.
Say, if we have 7 jury members and the setting is 3. There are 150 articles in the editathon. All of the articles were marked by 2 jury members or more so here we see "0 articles need to be marked" https://i.imgur.com/jyTLBSs.png
Now let's change the setting to 3. Now there are 39 articles that have only 2 marks. And now we see that I can help with all of them https://i.imgur.com/5lS9gSf.png
Let's look at a different editathon. Here we have 3 jury members and the setting is 2. As a jury member, I see that 115 articles need marks (there are no marks there or only 1; less than the setting). At the same time, only 62 articles need MY mark -- I've marked the rest! One of the other 2 jury members need to put their marks there https://i.imgur.com/SnKYukE.png Le Loy 07:07, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
There is a help page on enwiki: en:Wikipedia:Fountain. Feel free to update it! Le Loy 07:09, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Edit

Le Loy 23:09, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
— Soul Train (talk) 22:37, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

editathonsEdit

Can you add Turkish translation for editathons tool? I translated it 4-5 months ago. Thanks --ToprakM 13:33, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi ToprakM, I'll try to add it soon. Thank you for translating it! And sorry for the long wait. Le Loy 22:44, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
