Vermont does a lot of good Checkuser work on Meta, simplewiki, and elsewhere. I also think they would look cute with this T-Shirt! For the real though, I am pretty sure everyone loves Vermont. I am happy to have them among my closest wikifriends! :'D

Gac

Status:    Done
Why is this user awesome?

A true pillar in it.wiki, the author of a tremendous amount of precious work, one of those users that made a difference in this Project's history

Comments
  •   Comment - for a better comprehension of the whole above, despite what it might seem, there is no contreposition at all between the Italian speaking and the French speaking Communities; a French user was blocked by Gac because Gac is not required to understand French language when working in an Italian language Project, and he saw something that required a block. I would have given the same block, had it been something in a language I don't know, but I can read French even if I'm not required to; yet, Gac was there at that moment and, believe it or not, he doesn't know French. Believe it or not, there's a lot of people walking in the World without knowing a single word of French, and many of them are good and honest people. But there's a but. A compact group of French users suddenly appeared from nowhere in it.wiki attacking Gac as if it was some sort of vandalism, some complicity in the abuses the blocked user was suffering, then refused and rejected any kind of explaination given by other it.wiki's users (some of which are French native speakers) in Italian, in English and in French. Please do follow those links that someone provided here above, read yourselves what we are talking about. The blocked user actually was right, she was the victim of verified abuses, but this wasn't visible to anyone who doesn't understand French; she and her friends just can't accept that an accident might occur when we don't speak the same language and we are not expected to. We already apologised for the accident, even if it only was an accident. An accident and nothing more than that.
The rest can be bitterly summarised as follows:
    1) Elegance too might have different meanings across different languages
    2) What happened only regards those users who took part in the confusion, it.wiki still and always is wide open to our French-speaking friends and Colleagues whom we are eagerly glad to welcome
    3) Gac truly is an EXCELLENT admin and user and I would very much like to be able to say it in every language of the World, my own limit is that I don't know them all
    --g (talk) 10:59, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
Gac never deigned to apologize, not even in Italian it's that simple .... It is not worthy of an admin not to recognize his dramatic mistake Lomita (talk) 11:17, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
And it is wrong to say that Gac was there at that time since he arrived .... 19 days after the harassment to block me [8] Lomita (talk) 11:41, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
sorry, I'm not Gac's attorney, and this is not a page for that case, which was widely discussed in the links that you yourself provided. I only had to give some context for those readers who are not required to understand French and Italian and I'm not going beyond that, here. --g (talk) 12:12, 17 November 2021 (UTC)

Approved - This is not a situation this process is used to handling. Reviewing the situation it seems that this was an unfortunate circumstance. Given Gac seems to retain the confidence of his community including support here from it.wiki administrators and a steward; that this venue is not the place to bring such individual disagreements; and that I'm not aware of any other issues, I'm happy to see the user receive a gift in acknowledgement for his work in the italian community. SandyGeorgia

Status:    Done
Why is this user awesome?

SandyGeorgia has been editing English Wikipedia since 2006. Among her more than 200,000 edits are primary contributions to several featured articles, including big ones like million award-qualifier Tourette syndrome. But it's not just her own FAs: she is an absolute pillar of the entire featured article system, having made extensive comments on hundreds of FA candidates and reviews (including a recent one of mine, and countless ones for the major URFA2020 initiative). She was recognized as the editor of the week this past February, an accolade that only added to her collection so extensive it's pushing the WP:PAGESIZE limits. For all this, she deserves some tangible wikilove.

Kaizenify

Status:    Done
Why is this user awesome?

Since I joined the Wikimedia movement, Kaizenify was the only user from Nigeria who provided supports for me as every other experienced users could not support me because of the nature of my contributions as its related to LGBTQ and because I am a queer but Kaizenify gave the required supports and mentored me all through. He also showed up at every Write for the Rights Nigeria physical and virtual Wikipedia training for LGBTQ persons in Nigeria by training and mentoring them couple with ensuring they are all well rooted in Wikipedia editing. I own my Wikimedia retention to Kaizenify because if he wasn't there I would have quitted and stop contributing due to incessant attacks to my person as a result of been a queer. For that, they deserve some tangible wikilove!

Please do not give away donors money on these little known and little attended internal gifts.
