My user page

Hi – this might be a somewhat unusual request. In July you revision deleted some edits from my user page. Billinghurst described it as "vulgarised" and it isn't suppressed, so I presume it's not outing or libel. Now as a sysop on enwiki I'm used to being able to see this kind of thing, even about myself, and I'm very curious. Vandalismusmeldung

"w:de:Benutzer:Wikinger08" (und seiner Sockenpoppen wie w:en:user:Wikinger IP Addressen sitzen aber üblicherweise zirka 100km weiter nordwestlich nach w:de:Posen. Der eine kapiert den Unterschied zwischen RC und einem Ballerspiel nicht, der andere spielt ständig "böser Bulle" und Hilfsadminen, obwohl er vor Jahren von der Kommunitei als Adminkandidat abgelehnt wurde. Am besten Melder und Gemeldeten zusammen in einen Sack packen und kräftig mit dem (Sperr-) Knüppel draufhauen, da trifft man kein einziges Mal einen Falschen. Kann sein, dass es sich hier um Vandalismus handelt.

Recent mass deletion and block

Apparently I have a dynamic IP through my proxy since this is now my IP address. I still think a global IP block exemption is necessary though since I appear to be randomly assigned IP addresses that are blocked on some wikis (e.g., this IP address is blocked on the English Wikipedia) or globally (e.g., my previous IP address). I have received a warning due to "cross wiki spam spambot". I don't understand at all what this means. I have not been sending any spam. Could someone be using my IP without my consent ? @Braveheidi: There was a compromised device in that webhosting range (2001:0:4137:9E76:0:0:0:0/64) running a spambot (specifically NTSAMR) so I've blocked it. Puppets performing "Cross Wiki Spam"

Hello Defender, the account HellboyPSY (talk · contribs) was confirmed as a puppet by a checker of the pt.wiki and fr.wiki.

In short, there is a category with locked puppets. They have been editing on several Wikipedia for the same purpose, creating and maintaining a biography. I ask you if this is not a case for global blocking. Also, the page is still active on Japanese Wikipedia, can you delete it or indicate it for deletion? @RadiX: by the time I sent the message to Defender, the user had created the same biography on four different Wikis and had been blocked in the pt.wiki and fr.wiki for using puppets. CheckUser inquiry

Hello Defender, perhaps you can help me. I've read in your user page that you're a steward. Well, one week ago I've opened a checkuser request about a very likely (almost 100%) cross-wiki proxy user and sockpuppet user, both in RFCU and SRCU. Since the user that I've identified is going on doing the same edits in the same pages with normal IP ranges (coming from Italy, and I'm Italian too) I'm updating the IP list daily, but nobody has checked about this problem, which is very real and currently continuing, yet. Can you do anything do help me with this request? I've been spending and I'm still spending a long time for that, and still I see no results. I thought at the beginning that this problem would be solved quickly, afterall it's about proxies and sockpuppets so it should interest sysops, I hoped I could do something good for the project and maybe I would be thanked for that; instead, also requests made after mine have already been closed, while the only 2 answers I had for mine were that if I'm an IP user I can't make requests (so I've created an account too) or that the 2 only socks that I've reported can't be linked to IPs because of CU Policy (then what about the proxy IPs and the normal IPs?)... O usuário em questão deve ter meios de provar ser o dono da conta, e não há garantia de deferimento. Before this attack, I was not aware that there were no edit rate limits at all for autoconfirmed users (they have now implemented a limit of 90 edits per minute). Olá Defender. Venho nesses dias monitorando as Mudanças Recentes aqui do Meta e em algumas vezes me deparo com LTAs que abusam de contas múltiplas para cometerem vandalismo em PDUs alheias. Sei que a página Steward requests/Global‎‎ serve para a realização de pedidos como os de bloqueios globais. Porém, toda vez que tenho que adicionar um novo pedido, tenho que clicar na aba editar, ir para o final da página e proceder de forma manual. Gostaria, então, de saber se existe algum Gadget que agilize esse processo. Inspire Campaign on Measuring Community Health

Pedido para eliminar a minha conta do wikipédia em inglês

Caro Defender,

Não o conheço mas queria pedir o favor de eliminar a minha conta da página do Wikipedia em inglês. Claramente as coisas não correram muito bem por lá, e como sinto que não tenho mais nada a acrescentar à wikipedia em inglês, e que as coisas chegaram a um ponto de não-retorno, gostaria de exercer o meu direito ao esquecimento. Não sei exatamente como isto se processa, até porque vi que a wikipedia tem uma política de não apagar contas, mas apesar disso penso que existe alguma solução, inclusive pedi um desaparecimento de cortesia, mas não sei se é suficiente. Olá Ppteles. Primeiramente cumpre esclarecer que na Wikimedia as contas de usuários são globais e não podem ser excluídas. Conforme as regras que regem o direito a desaparecer, em especial Right to vanish e en:Wikipedia:Courtesy_vanishing, o procedimento consiste em renomear a conta global e só é viável se você pretende se afastar de todos os projetos Wikimedia em definitivo. Esse serviço pode ser solicitado em Special:GlobalRenameRequest. Dito isso, se o que você quer na verdade é um recomeço limpo, dê uma lida nesta página. Olá. Estou aqui pois preciso muito de ajuda. Estou sofrendo assédio na Wikipédia em português por parte de um administrador. Hoje fui bloqueado mais uma vez por conta de mais um ataque dele contra mim. Quando tentei me defender, outro administrador apagou minhas justificativas por "disseminação de desconfiança", mesmo comprovando tudo. E ainda cancelaram a discussão de bloqueio.

Pelo que pude entender, o assunto foi resolvido nesta discussão de bloqueio, na qual todos os administradores participantes manifestaram apoio unânime ao bloqueio que lhe havia sido aplicado. Conforme eslarecido aqui, os stewards não possuem autoridade para atuar como árbitros em disputas locais ou passar por cima da administração local de um projeto. Precedente nesse sentido. Eventual intervenção em um projeto pode ser discutida em um pedido de comentários, mas não se pode olvidar que o Meta não é uma corte de apelação, de acordo com o item 13 de Meta:What Meta is not, a saber: "13. Meta is not an appeals court. If a community decides something, don't come here to try to get the decision overruled". Destarte, lamento dizer que não me compete interferir no caso em comento. Olá Defender, tudo bem? Venho aqui para tentar entender uma coisa que observei. Atualmente estou no grupo dos Patrulhadores, aqui no Meta. E como você sabe, as edições que ainda não foram patrulhadas aparecem com um ponto de exclamação em vermelho. Porém, em páginas como essa, apesar de aparecer o ponto de exclamação, não consigo patrulhá-las e nem reverter ou desfazer as edições. Já houve casos em que me deparei com vandalismos, porém não conseguia reverter a edição. Percebi que isso ocorre com toda página que possui a aba Traduzir. URGENT: Please sign new Wikimedia confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information now

This is a reminder to acknowledge and sign the new Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information. As you know, your volunteer role in Wikimedia projects gives you access to secure and sensitive information.

The new version includes one major change.

• There is a change regarding the way personal data may be released. Accordingly, functionaries must notify the Wikimedia Foundation at check-disclosurewikimedia.org before releasing data, in order to obtain a written approval for doing so. The Foundation will respond within 10 days. However, for emergencies, such as cases involving threats of violence, functionaries may release the personal data without such explicit permission, but they should notify the Foundation immediately following the disclosure. If they choose not to disclose the data, the request for disclosure should be forwarded to the Foundation's emergency email address (emergencywikimedia.org).

There are also some wording changes that were made to more closely align the language with evolving industry norms, best practices and laws. The most notable of these has been the change of the term "nonpublic information" to "nonpublic personal data". None of these changes are intended to make fundamental changes to the scope or practice of the policy but we know they could appear as such, hence wanted to flag them.

The aforementioned changes require users that have already signed the previous version of the policy to sign the new version as well.

We therefore ask that you to sign the updated version. Signing the agreement is tracked on Phabricator's Legalpad. An online guide is available to help you with signing the agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign. Hi Defender, I have a "little" problem, after almost 8 years using the same password, a couple of months ago I decided to change it to something more "difficult" and saved it to my PC, which allows me to access and edit Wikipedia projects. But now I am trying to access it through my iPhone and I am not getting it due to forgetting the new password. Is possible you send my actual password to my email ... or return to the old password?

Possível LTA com abuso em outros projetos

Olá Defender, a conta Irisvalverde1 (talk · contribs) está se transformando em uma verdadeira LTA, com longo abuso na Wikipédia lusófona numa recusa em não citar fontes e efetuação massiva de salvamentos sucessivos. Logo no início, solicitei uma verificação já que várias contas demonstraram um comportamento semelhante. Os resultados procederam e desde então vários fantoches são bloqueados periodicamente. Veja a categoria com os fantoches.

O ponto interessante é que as contas vem abusando de outros projetos, em especial do Commons, efetuando carregamentos incorretos: aqui, aqui e muitos abusos.

Spanish Wikipedia problems

Good afternoon Defender, I am afraid to tell you that Spanish Wikipedia editors are behaving like despots. I know it may sound creepy, but for example Nicolás Atanes article has been deleted 10 times, and indeed it meets the criteria of relevance, has been written objectively, and with the aim of disseminating a biography accurately and in good faith. Atanes is an important activist in Spain, it has been nominated for a national prize next week, and having an article may be very useful to be known by the public. It is incredible that due to some of the past of the article (which I completely do not know) they have blocked my account and deleted the article for no reason. I would like you, who are above, to give them a touch. This article of Nicolás meets all criteria. It's like if (famous person) wouldn't have an article. Talk to them and, if you consider, ask them to let me create (from this IP that they have blocked me) the article. It is fair and necessary. @特克斯特: I am unaware of a local inactivity policy for zh-yue wiki. AAR is a global process of admin review done by stewards normally once per year. It is not a policy that can be invoked at any time to get advanced rights removed. @Chico: editei a página q:pt:MediaWiki:Titleblacklist para eliminar o falso positivo a que se refere a discussão. O usuário agora pode criar a página que pretendia criar. Substituir completamente a expressão "lista negra" (Title blacklist/Spam blacklist/MediaWiki:Titleblacklist) demandaria alterações significativas no MediaWiki e precisaria de passar por discussão e aprovação pela comunidade global, creio eu. No entanto, talvez seja possível modificar a mensagem que aparece para o usuário na tradução, mas não tenho certeza de como proceder. Cumprimentos, Defender (talk) 19:48, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. Realmente, Defender, passei na frente do Wikinotícias em número de agradecimentos. No Wikinotícias, eu fiz 1.317 agradecimentos, e no Wikiquote, 1.709. Você tem razão. O importante é que já passei na frente de Dario Severi em número de agradecimentos. Nesse caso, pararei de agradecer no Wikiquote, para não passar na frente da Wikipédia, a qual eu fui bloqueado por tempo indeterminado, depois foi a vez do Wikcionário em espanhol, e em seguida o Wikinotícias. Não quero ser bloqueado também no Wikiquote, até porque posto passagens da Bíblia nele.

Olá Defender, vou escrever devido ter sido citado aqui. Eu não consigo entender esta obsessão do Leonardo de passar na minha frente em agradecimentos e o pior é que ele cita isto em todos os projetos em que foi bloqueado. Eu tenho mais de 135.000 edições e ocasionalmente quando me escrevem eu não vejo a necessidade de responder o outro editor, simplesmente envio um agradecimento no mesmo dia. O Leonardo envia agradecimentos depois de um ano sobre edições que não são nem relacionadas a ele. Não tem lógica o que faz. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 00:18, 9 June 2022 (UTC)

@Blaze Wolf: The LTA your are referring to is still active cross-wiki (see, for instance, one of their most recent socks: 民權西路). That IP address whose edits I reverted is a confirmed IP sock of said LTA (see here, for instance), so the reverts were made per w:en:WP:EVASION (Enforcement by reverting). If the edits are indeed constructive, anyone is free to take complete responsibility for the content and reinstate. I hope to have clarified things. PS: I've moved over this thread to my talk page here on Meta as I prefer to be contacted here, considering I'm not really active on enwiki at the moment.
