This page is for requests to have Stewards grant or revoke Administrator, Bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight rights on Wikimedia projects which do not have a local permissions procedure.

Old sections are archived by a bot. Click here for a list of archives.

  • If you are requesting adminship or bureaucratship, and your wiki has a local bureaucrat, submit your request to that user or to the relevant local request page (index).
  • For urgent requests, such as to combat large-scale vandalism on a small wiki, contact a steward in the #wikimedia-stewardsconnect IRC channel. In emergencies, type !steward in the channel to get the attention of stewards. Otherwise, you can type @steward for non-urgent help.

Other than requests to remove your own access or emergencies, please only make requests here after gaining the on-wiki approval of your local community.

Using this pageEdit

1. Place the following code at the bottom of the appropriate section below:

==== Username@xxproject ====
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!--don't change this line-->
 |domain    = <!-- such as en.wikibooks -->
 |user name =
 |discussion=
}}
(your remarks) ~~~~

2. Fill in the values:

  • domain: the wiki's URL domain (like "ex.wikipedia" or "meta.wikimedia").
  • user name: the name of the user whose rights are to be changed (like "Exampleuser"). In case you're requesting access for multiple bots, leave this field blank and give a list of these bots in your remarks
  • discussion: a link to the local vote or discussion about the rights change (for example, "[[ex:Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship#ExampleUser]]").

3. If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information.

Confirmation of signing confidentiality agreementEdit

Certain permissions (notably CheckUser and Oversight) additionally require users to sign a confidentiality agreement. Users requesting these permissions must make a request below, and must also sign the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. The request is placed on hold temporarily, until the receipt has been formally confirmed by the Office.

RequestsEdit

COPY THE FOLLOWING CODE to the bottom of the appropriate section below:

==== User name@xxproject ====
{{sr-request
 |status    = <!--don't change this line-->
 |domain    =
 |user name =
 |discussion=
}}

Administrator accessEdit

See Administrator for information about this user group.

  • MediaWiki interface translations are done at translatewiki.net. Please do not request administrator access solely for that purpose; your request will be declined.

  • Stewards: Please use {{Systmp}} for approved temporary requests.

Requests for removal of access should be posted at the section below.

Please start a new discussion about requesting the permission on the local village pump, administrators' noticeboard or a designated page for requesting permissions each time you request or renew adminship.

  • Discussions should be open for seven days. Please request adminship here seven days after discussions started. This page is not the place for any discussions or votes. (For wikis with few active users, it is OK to have no comments.)
  • If you only want adminship for specific tasks, please state for how long and for which tasks you need it. Otherwise stewards will decide whether to assign permanent adminship and the duration of adminship. See Steward requests/Permissions/Minimum voting requirements.

कन्हाई प्रसाद चौरसिया@hi.wikiquoteEdit

Hello

Sir,

I request the administrator after Focusing on the present time,I would like to connect the new veins to make the Wikiquote much better as well as activate smoothly. Recently, I came to know that there is currently no active any sysop on this project.I have been nominating this to improve the basic structure for a variety of general maintenance work on hi wikiquote. -- कन्हाई प्रसाद चौरसिया (talk) 15:07, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

  On hold until July 9th. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 00:26, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
There is still a comment from an IP that has not been responded to. MVR requires any opposition to be fully discussed out. I think at least a response is in order. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 19:02, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
I probably can't please everyone sir maybe that's why this ip is dissatisfied with me. I think this discussion should be decided now. Whatever the decision of the jury amongst themselves, I will accept it unanimously.-- कन्हाई प्रसाद चौरसिया (talk) 05:37, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
{Non steward comment) Off topic, but please don't call AmandaNP as "sir". I think you know the reason why. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 07:33, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
ji, apologize of this. -- कन्हाई प्रसाद चौरसिया (talk) 09:04, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Don't worry. Your not the only one who I've seen call a female editor as sir by accident. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 04:23, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

7elteven@nawikiEdit

After ending of my adminship, the only active admin (and in general a participant) was SHB2000. I didn't have any time because of exams. As soon as the time came, I decided to become an admin again and help SHB2000 to revive the Nauruan Wikipedia. --7elteven (talk) 14:43, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

@7elteven: Welcome back SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 22:44, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
  Oppose The requestor has spam-only edits on both Incubator and Lithuanian Wikipedia, and hence blocked on both sites. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:19, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
No, this user was blocked on the Incubator because they were suspected to contributing in languages they don't know, because it seemed like they were adding Russian words, but the language has a little bit of russian words in it. Also, votes don't go here, they're meant to go on the discussion page. Not sure about ltwiki though. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 03:25, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
@SHB2000: Then how do you explain Steward_requests/Checkuser/2020-12#Mikhaliov_~_ltwiki@lt.wikipedia, especially
  •   Confirmed Group 1: Mikhaliov ~ ltwiki, 7elteven

--Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:27, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Thanks. Makes sense for ltwiki, but not the incubator. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 03:30, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
@Liuxinyu970226: Hello. That was my past mistakes that I made more that a year ago on ltwikipedia. I don't make it anymore. Btw, this account was not my sock on Wikipedia, just the new account so I don't really know why admins blocked this account. I didn't do any contributions there so I can't be the sock puppet. - 7elteven (talk) 04:43, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Also Liuxinyu, have some grace. 7 eleven is still in school, and mistakes are expected. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 04:48, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
He never used and thus also never abused the other account on nawiki. Also it seems like he never abused his sysop permissions in nawiki in the past. So could you ellaborate why this is such a big problem? --Zabe (talk) 09:46, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Agree. Additionally, 7elteven was a sysop for three months (and as you said, never abused them), and is one of our only few editors that know some Nauruan here. Also, 7elteven is still in school, so I expect mistakes. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 11:53, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
@SHB2000: If both the nominator and processor of that SRCU request @Nomad and Sotiale: agree, I don't oppose any more. Otherwise you should be one that need to "have some grace", not me.

About @Zabe:'s comments like "he never used another account/he never edited Lithuanian Wikipedia", and other comments like "they are in school", those questions are also to be answered by Sotiale or other Stewards, since they can try to confirm the "deleted contributions": Just copied from the {{CU request}}. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:15, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Another interesting thing: the requestor edited Lithuanian Wiktionary, Wikiquote and Wikisource, of which the Mikhaliov ~ ltwiki also edited the Wikiquote one, wondering if those edits are problemic or not. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:26, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Interface administrator accessEdit

See Interface admin for information about this user group.

  • If you are requesting adminship and the interface admin at the same time, you can file one request in administrator section and state you want interface adminship as well.
  • MediaWiki interface translations are done at translatewiki.net. Please do not request interface administrator access solely for that purpose; your request will be declined.
  • Since the end of 2018, all interface administrators are required to have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled. Please, enable it before posting your request here.

  • Stewards: Please use {{Systmp}} for approved temporary requests.

Requests for removal of access should be posted at the section below.

Please start a new discussion about requesting the permission on the local village pump, administrators' noticeboard or a designated page for requesting permissions each time you request or renew interface adminship.

  • Discussions should be open for seven days. Please request interface adminship here seven days after discussions started. This page is not the place for any discussions or votes. (For wikis with few active users, it is OK to have no comments.)

ShiminUfesoj@bcl.wikipediaEdit

(your remarks)   ShiminUfesoj 🌏 (🦜)  12:28, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

@ShiminUfesoj Hello, you need to present an on-wiki discussion about your bcl.wikipedia promotion. That should happen either on a dedicated request page, or on an all-community discussion page (like a village pump). Could you paste a link to such a discussion here? Thanks, Martin Urbanec (talk) 11:26, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
  Not done No response, no permissions granted. Feel free to create another request once there is an on-wiki consensus to grant you the rights requested. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 21:50, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

Iflaq@Ks.wikipediaEdit

Hello, I hereby want to serve as the local Interface Adminstrator of Ks Wikipedia. I am already trusted with Admin rights. I hereby want to declare that I will use this right for the betterment of the project. If in any case I was found to be making non constructive edits you can remove the right. Note: The minimum wait time has already passed. Thankyou. Iflaq (talk) 11:39, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

  On hold until 5 August 2021 Ruslik (talk) 20:08, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Bureaucrat accessEdit

See Bureaucrat for information about this user group.
  • In principle, requests for temporary bureaucrat access are not granted.
  • A small project does not need bureaucrats. Currently whether a promotion is valid or not is decided by stewards. See here for a guideline.

Requests for removal of access should be posted at the section below.

CheckUser accessEdit

See CheckUser policy for information about this user group and the policy governing the use of this tool.
  • To request CheckUser information, see Steward requests/Checkuser. This is the place to request CheckUser access.
  • Temporary CheckUser access is not permitted and temporary access is only used by Stewards.

Leaderboard@enwikibooksEdit

As of writing, 25/27 users supported. I've signed the NDA a long while back. Leaderboard (talk) 05:03, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

  On hold Not enough support. 24 votes, and policy requires at least 25-30. stanglavine msg 21:40, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
@Stanglavine: There are 27 (25 support + 2 oppose) votes as of writing, not sure where you are getting 24. (update: someone moved theirs to oppose, so you're now right, apologies for the premature request) Leaderboard (talk) 04:37, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Leaderboard, you should have waited after the voting has ended, IMHO, Best. —Nnadigoodluck 10:48, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
At the time of my comment, #20 was not a clearly support vote, so 24. stanglavine msg 23:31, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
Seems like now 23 after Minorax changed their vote. SHB2000 (talk | contibs | en.wikivoyage | en.wikipedia) 00:29, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

Oversight accessEdit

See Oversight policy for information about this user group and the policy governing the use of this tool.
  • To request to have content oversighted, ask for a steward in #wikimedia-stewardsconnect and contact a steward privately. This section is for requesting access to the Oversight tool.
  • For contact details about oversighters across the wikis, refer to this page.
  • Note that temporary Oversight access is not permitted and temporary status is only used by Stewards.

  • When a new user is assigned to this group, please add them to this list.

Removal of accessEdit

  • If you're requesting the removal of your own permissions, make sure you're logged in to your account. If you have multiple flags, specify which you want removed. Stewards may delay your request a short time to ensure you have time to rethink your request (see previous discussion on 24 hour delays); the rights will not be restored by stewards once they are removed.
  • To request the removal of another user's permissions, you must gain consensus on the local wiki first. When there is community consensus that the user's access should be removed, provide a link to the discussion, with a brief explanation of the reason for the request, and summarize the results of discussion. However, as bureaucrats of some wikis may remove users from the administrator or bureaucrat group, please see also a separate list of these specific wikis.
  • To request the removal of another user's permissions for inactivity, link to your local inactivity policy. If your site does not have inactivity policy, the global policy Admin activity review applies.
  • See the instructions above for adding new requests. Please post new requests at the bottom of the section.

DARIO SEVERI@ptwikinewsEdit

Please remove admin because of a local discussion. Biel 12:09, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

I can't find the minimum length of removal process anywhere. Could you point me to respective local policies? If there is no policy, I'll let the removal running for at least a week (meaning this would be   On hold until 2021-07-29). --Martin Urbanec (talk) 13:36, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
@Martin Urbanec Unfortunately, I haven't yet found any local policy that sets the minimum duration for a removal request, but it looks like this request will close on July 29, 2021. Biel 17:48, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
July 29 it is then. I (or another steward) will update here on that date. Martin Urbanec (talk) 19:40, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
@Martin Urbanec:, the mininum lenght of a poll in pt.wikinews it's 15 days, according a policy approved in 2008. --Eta Carinae (talk) 18:59, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
@Eta Carinae This vote says nothing about removal requests. Biel 19:14, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
@Biel8729:, keep in mind that this votation it about all votations of Wikinews. There's no clearly duration of removal process, unlike the approval process (7 days). So, in a case of absence of this specification, the general rule it's applied. Unless that the stewards has an different interpretation. --Eta Carinae (talk) 19:32, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi @Martin Urbanec: as informed by Eta Carinae (and on the talk page itself), the time is 15 days. Edu! (talk) 19:39, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
The deadline for voting is 7 days, not 15. The rule is clear: O prazo limite para as votações é de sete dias. Érico (talk) 20:26, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

@Martin Urbanec: On Wikinotícias Lusófono, it has always been customary to close the polls after a week, but now with this request for removal, DARIO SEVERI states that the polls should last at least 15 days and threatens to block anyone who closes before this deadline! I affirm with TOTAL certainty that removal requests last a week. Biel 02:49, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

There was never a vote or consensus to decide 7 days. The text Erico mentions was written on the 8th of February [2] and on the 20th of February the discussion that decided that the votes should last 15 days was ended with unanimity deciding for 15 days (please see [3]), so I believe what counts is the last vote. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 06:41, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
@Martin Urbanec: DARIO SEVERI himself filed this removal request after 7 days because the result was unanimous, but now, he insists that his removal request can only be closed after 15 days and even threatens to block anyone who closes before that period, please close this request immediately, it is unanimous and the result will not change in the next few days. Biel 17:32, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

DARIO SEVERI@globalEdit

Hello, I don't know if I am making this request on the correct page, but I came here to request the global removal of DARIO SEVERI's administrator status for the following reasons:

In the Wikinews project, the user has committed an abuse of tools, gross and contumacious, this shows that he is not at all prepared to be an administrator of this project, let alone prepared to be a global administrator.

I have gathered here the parts of the user's removal request that I believe are the most important:

-- Taken from: Wikinotícias:Pedidos de administração/Desnomeações/DARIO SEVERI

I leave all this here up to the stewards to decide what they will do with the user.

(I know there is already an open removal request, but unlike the one that is already open this one is global.)

Biel 23:20, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

I call the users who were mentioned in these excerpts taken from DARIO SEVERI's removal request: @Skyshifter: @DarwIn: Biel 23:28, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
  •   Support removal of global sysop. I'm very concerned that such a flag is in the hands of an user that is not able to understand even basic Wikimedia policies like free licensing, to the point of imposing his own copyvios by brute force (sysop protection and block) and who pretends it is correct to block editors with the stated purpose of making them talk to him - without any attempt to communicate through the usual communication channels, i.e., talk pages, or by any other process at all. I don't know who DARIO SEVERI thinks he is, but one thing I am sure he is not - someone prepared to be global sysop.--- Darwin Ahoy! 00:53, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

I will try to summarize the facts of what happened on Wikinews.

On June 30th of last year, to make it easier to check which articles on other journalistic sites (outside the Wikimedia Foundation) were allowed to copy or translate, this list was created [8]. These sites mentioned that it was allowed to copy their news. I didn't participate in creating it. With this practically all editors created on Wikinews (pt) news using it, myself included.

On July 22, 2021, the editor DarwIn who practically never edited on Wikinews without any warning put in one of the pages I created the VDA warning, saying that I could be blocked. I trusting the existing list I removed the warning from the page [9] and .

I put on his discussion page that the license to copy was valid and please come talk to me about it [10], and I removed the warning on the page he had placed. DarwIn, with no interest in dialogue, put the VDA warning in another page [11]. To prevent it from adding warnings without dialog I blocked it for two hours but after new editors came to discuss I removed the block which lasted 20 minutes.

Due to these my actions are asking for my removal as sysop on Wikinews (pt) where I am one of the sysops.

I have as Global sysop almost 130,000 edits in 600 different projects [12]. My edits in these projects didn't do anything wrong, they're correct edits and so I don't see why they're asking for my removal as global sysop. What I have to add it is the person who open here this request is blocked indefinitely on Wikipedia (pt) (please see [13]). He has been harassing me constantly on Wikinews. This is why some of my talk to him are not polite. DARIO SEVERI (talk) 07:26, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
