অনুবাদ সম্পর্কে

দিদি স্বাগত ও শুভেচ্ছা নিন।

আপনি সম্প্রতি বেশ কিছু বাংলা অনুবাদ যোগ করেছেন, তাতে আমি বিভিন্ন সমস্যা লক্ষ্য করেছি। আমি জানি না কে এগুলি অনুবাদ করেছে, ধরে নিচ্ছি আপনি নিজে অনুবাদ করেছেন। আপনাকে সেগুলি জানাতেই লিখছি:

• Movement Strategy কে "মোবেমেন্ত্ স্ত্রতেগ্য্" (?) হিসেবে লিখেছেন। অনুগ্রহ করে এটিকে "আন্দোলনের কৌশল" হিসেবে লিখুন।
• আপনার অনূদিত বেশ কিছু লাইনের অনুবাদ আক্ষরিক হয়েছে। অনেক লাইনের মূল লেখা এক, অনুবাদ হয়েছে আরেক। অনুগ্রহ করে সব সময় হুবহু ইংরেজি লাইন অনুকরণ করে অনুবাদ করবেন না। আমি জানি ইংরেজি বড় বড় লাইনগুলি বাংলায় সাজিয়ে লেখা কষ্টকর। বড় বাক্য বাংলায় ভেঙ্গে একাধিক লাইনে লিখুন। ইংরেজি মূল লাইন বুঝে এমনভাবে অনুবাদ করুন যেন বাক্য সরল হয়, সহজে বুঝা যায়।
• অনুগ্রহ করে তারিখ, সংখ্যাগুলিকে বাংলায় লিখুন।

আমি নিজে উদ্যোগী হয়ে Grants:MSIG/Announcements/2021/bn, Grants:MSIG/Approach/bn, Grants:MSIG/Examples/bn, Grants:MSIG/FAQ/bn ও Grants:MSIG/Contact/bn-এর অনুবাদ সংশোধন করে দিয়েছি (এগুলির সম্পাদনা ইতিহাসে দেখতে পাবেন কোন কোন বাক্য সংশোধন করেছি)। আর আপনি অনুগ্রহ করে Grants:MSIG/About/bn-এর অনুবাদ সংশোধন করে নিন। ধন্যবাদ। আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 20:13, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

স্বাগত জন্য এবং অনুবাদ পড়ার জন্য আপনাকে অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ। আমি নীচে আপনার উদ্বেগ সম্পর্কে আমার প্রতিক্রিয়া উল্লেখ করছি:

• তুমি ঠিক বলছো. প্রয়োজন না হলে transliteration করা ভুল হবে। আমি আগামী সপ্তাহে এগুলি সংশোধন করব। এছাড়া, যদিও Movement শব্দের আক্ষরিক অনুবাদ "আন্দোলন" - উইকিমিডিয়ার Movement Strategy প্রসঙ্গে "আন্দোলন কৌশল" ব্যবহার করা ত্রুটি হবে। "গতি কৌশল" একটি ভাল বিকল্প। "আন্দোলনের" সাধারণত মানে revolution বা agitation, না কি movement.
• Definitely. ধারণাটি আক্ষরিক অনুবাদ করা নয় বরং প্রাসঙ্গিক অনুবাদ করা।
• আমি সম্মত হই যে তারিখগুলি বাংলায় লেখা উচিত। যেহেতু অনেক অনুবাদক গ্লোবাল দলে যোগ দিয়েছেন, তাই আমরা ভাষা জুড়ে একটি consistent manual of style স্থাপনের চেষ্টা করছি।

সংশোধনের জন্য আপনাকে ধন্যবাদ। স্বেচ্ছাসেবক অনুবাদকদের দ্বারা ব্যবহৃত কোনও manual of style আছে কি? Please আমার সাথে ওটা share করুন।

• যদিও বাংলায় সচরাচর প্রতিবাদ (revolution বা agitation) জাতীয় কিছু বোঝাতে "আন্দোলন" ব্যবহৃত হয়, তবে আন্দোলনের আরও অর্থ রয়েছে যেমন: "আন্দোলন /বিশেষ্য পদ/ আলোড়ন, সঞ্চালন" ইত্যাদি। এছাড়া আমরা দীর্ঘদিন ধরে "আন্দোলন" ব্যবহার করে আসছি, যেমন bn:উইকিমিডিয়া আন্দোলন। দয়া করে ধারাবাহিকতা বজায় রাখুন ও "আন্দোলন" লিখুন (গতি লিখবার দরকার নেই)। আর এই ক্ষেত্রে "আন্দোলন কৌশল" না লিখে "আন্দোলনের কৌশল" লিখুন। (উদা: bn:উইকিপিডিয়া:উইকিমিডিয়া আন্দোলনের কৌশল নির্ধারণ)
• "আক্ষরিক অনুবাদ করা নয় বরং প্রাসঙ্গিক অনুবাদ করা", আমি আপনার সাথে একমত। আপনি যেভাবেই লিখুন, বাক্য গঠন ও অর্থ ঠিক থাকলে আমার কোনও আপত্তি নেই। (আমি ১ সপ্তাহ আগে যখন আপনার কিছু অনুবাদ ঠিক করেছিলাম, তখন কিছু আক্ষরিক অনুবাদ পেয়েছিলাম যার কারণে কথাটি বলেছি। আমি পূর্বের অনুবাদ খুঁজতে যাচ্ছি না, তবে আজকের এই উদাহরণটি দেখুন। আপনি লিখেছেন দেখা করুন কিন্তু এটা হবে পরিচিত হোন। এখানে দেখুন, আমি আরও কিছু সংশোধন করেছি।)
• অন্য ভাষাগুলি যেভাবেই লিখুক না কেন, আপনি বাংলা অনুবাদের সময় তারিখ, সংখ্যাগুলি বাংলায় লিখুন। (কোন কারণে ভারতীয় উপমহাদেশের বিভিন্ন ভাষার উইকি তারিখ, সংখ্যা তাদের ভাষায় লিখে না। কিন্তু বাংলায় আমরা সবসময় তারিখ, সংখ্যাগুলি বাংলায় লিখে এসেছি।)

ইমেইলের বদলে এই আলাপ পাতায় আলোচনা হলে সবচেয়ে ভালো।

Sunday November 13 Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network meeting

The Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network (SWAN) is a developing forum for all Wikimedia movement affiliates to share ideas on the Wikimedia 2030 strategy process. It expands on the model of the All-Affiliates Brand Meeting to help lay some of the groundwork for a future Global Council.

We'll focus on strategic and outreach topics of mutual concern to all affiliates including Wikimedia Research Fund, 2023 Ombuds commission and Case Review Committee appointments process, feedback on consultation and community session of the Movement Charter Drafting Committee, various Wikimania topics: (ideas/suggestions for Wikimania 2023, expressions of interest for Wikimania 2024 and beyond, expressions of interest to join Wikimania Steering Committee), and other ongoing activities.
