Personal info: It feels a bit strange to look at Stewards and realize that you are now the oldest still active steward since M7 left close to his tenth anniversary. Although I usually only have little free time left after mostly very long working days (at Wikimedia Deutschland), I still try to be as present as possible as a steward, be it onwiki or in chats, and try to help wherever I can (for example, once again in the Election Committee). In particular that means to be available on IRC (also to restart bots which I co-maintain on ToolLabs), on the mailing lists, and on OTRS or Skype, where users who were affected by some of my global range blocks ask for support. Most of these blocks are caused by a long-term troll that I've grown to handle well, which also explains my high and constant activity on loginwiki and the huge amount of accounts I've locked.
Unfortunately, I'm not as active anymore in cross-wiki vandal fighting on smaller wikis or handling global rename requests (in fact, I stopped the latter after I spent much time helping to establish it), but I'm still happy that the SUL finalization, realized collaboratively with the Wikimedia Foundation, continues to make new tools possible and our work more effective. My good connection to the Wikimedia Foundation is, so I like to think, in many ways quite valuable to the steward group. Therefore I try to attend as many monthly calls with the Foundation as possible, where I contribute my experience, mainly on the topic of global bans with which I became quite experienced in the last couple of months. Some of the banned users also directly attacked me and have even denounced me to my former employee. I find it highly important that we convey very clearly, that vandalism and personal attacks are unacceptable. I also gave a presentation on that topic at the German WikiCon (German slides), as well as a presentation introducing metawiki to the broader German community (German slides), as I also understand the steward role as a bridge between the local and global communities.
I want to continue serving to the same extent, helping my dear fellows as well as my local community with global matters, and would be very glad to celebrate my tenth anniversary as a steward this December. Thanks for your patience, and please feel free to ask questions.

Informationen zur Person: Es fühlt sich schon ein wenig merkwürdig an, auf Stewards zu schauen und festzustellen, dass man nun der älteste noch aktive Steward ist, seitdem M7 kurz vor seinem zehnten Jubiläum zurückgetreten ist. Auch wenn ich nur noch wenig Freizeit habe nach meist sehr langen Arbeitstagen (bei Wikimedia Deuschland), versuche ich immer noch so viel wie möglich als Steward präsent zu sein, sei es in den Wikis oder in Chats, und dabei zu helfen, wo ich benötigt werde (bspw. wieder im Wahlkomitee zu dieser Stewardwahl, dem Election Committee). Das bedeutet insbesondere, erreichbar im IRC zu sein (wo ich auch Bots neustarte, die ich mitverwalte auf ToolLabs), auf Mailinglisten sowie im OTRS und Skype, bei denen mich häufiger Benutzer um Unterstützung bei der Anlage von Konten bitten, die durch manche meiner globalen IP-Range-Sperren betroffen sind. Diese sind meist durch einen Dauertroll verursacht, in dessen Umgang ich quasi Experte geworden bin – dies erklärt dann auch meine konstant hohe Aktivität im Loginwiki und die hohe Anzahl an von mir geblockten Konten.
Ich bin jedoch leider nicht mehr so aktiv in der globalen Vandalismusbekämpfung kleinerer Wikis oder beim Bearbeiten von Anfragen zur globalen Umbenennung wie früher (genauer gesagt habe ich mit Letztem aufgehört, bald nachdem ich viel Zeit darin investiert habe, dies aufzubauen), aber immer noch sehr zufrieden damit, dass die in Zusammenarbeit mit der Wikimedia Foundation umgesetzte Vereinheitlichung globaler Benutzerkonten (SUL-Finalisierung) noch immer neue Tools ermöglicht und auch die Arbeit der Stewards vereinfacht. Meine gute Verbindung zur Wikimedia Foundation ist, so denke ich doch, an verschiedenen Stellen ziemlich hilfreich für das Stewardkollegium. Daher versuche ich, so viele der monatlichen Telefonkonferenzen mit der Wikimedia Foundation wie möglich zu besuchen und dort meine Erfahrungen einzubringen, insbesondere zu globalen Bannen, mit denen ich in den letzten Monaten viele Erfahrungen sammeln konnte. Einige der gebannten Benutzer attackierten mich dabei auch direkt und denunzierten mich sogar bei einem ehemaligen Arbeitgeber. Ich bin davon überzeugt, dass wir sehr deutlich vermitteln müssen, dass Vandalismus und persönliche Angriffe inakzeptabel sind. Zum Thema hielt ich auch eine Präsentation auf der WikiCon (Folien), neben einem Vortrag zum Metawiki (Folien) – die Stewardrolle verstehe ich ja als Brücke zwischen lokaler und globaler Gemeinschaft.
Gern möchte ich, weiterhin wie im aktuellen Maße, meinen geschätzten Kollegen sowie meiner Heimatcommunity bei globalen Angelegenheiten zu Hilfe sein und würde mich sehr freuen, diesen Dezember meinen zehnten Jahrestag als Steward zu feiern. Vielen Dank und bitte stellt gern Fragen.

I've looked into the monthly stats: 1'220 actions are listed (#8, 3.63 % of all steward actions), for the second half of 2016 it is 571 actions (#10, 3.49 % of all steward actions). That does not look like a significant drop to me. In fact, I'm even #6 and #7 in global auth and global block actions. Of course, it's not 2007 anymore where only three stewards did almost all stuff and I was one of them. I don't understand at all what has editing a Wikiversity wiki to do with steward rights. But moving pages and global renames have much more to do with steward rights than editing there. That reason (on all these pages here) doesn't make any sense to me.
