an admin blocked an admin illegally

edit

hi Pmlineditor!

as an admin my IP is blocked by an irresponsible admin Mr Khangul just for the reason i have allowed and unblocked a user who is hard working, keen to develop, contribute in pashto wiki. see this for his countributions: Usman khan's contributions

plz have a look to his work. if you think that he (Usmankhan) deserved to be blocked by Khangul. and for restoring (Usmankhan) was that against the rule of wiki, or i have done something wrong for which Khangul (an admin like me) blocked me from wiki and deleted my pages where i have requested for bureaucrat.

plz take this matter serious and solve the prob which khangul create day by day to new users, and now for admins as well.

you will note that pashto wiki contribution is zero now a day due to khangul's behaviors with users.

best regards

note: my nomination page is also deleted by him. khangul deleted my nomination page for bureaucratship. its against wiki norms and laws.

Global CSS/JS migration

edit

Hello Pmlineditor. You have global scripts in User:Pmlineditor/global.js, which you import using your local JS pages. Since August 2014, your global.js and global.css pages are loaded automatically on all wikis. Since you already import them yourself, you may experience script errors or tools being added twice. Do you want me to fix this by removing the imports from your local pages using Synchbot (without changing any other content)? —Pathoschild 21:37, 05 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi again! I haven't heard back from you, so I'll assume you don't want to do this. Feel free to leave me a message or add a Synchbot request if you change your mind. :) —Pathoschild 17:51, 09 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have access to nonpublic information and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. The general confidentiality agreement is now ready, and the OTRS agreement will be ready after 22 September 2015. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain your access to nonpublic information. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

I am the First Administrator of Sindhi Wikipedia and have been blocked

edit

Dear Elfix, I am the first-ever administrator of Sindhi wikipedia sd:Main Page. I was the only administrator active since 2006.

Yesterday, I've become victim of a recent administrator (temporary), https://sd.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%B2%D8%B1_%D8%A8%D8%AD%D8%AB:%D9%85%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF_%D9%85%D8%AC%DB%8C%D8%A8 who has blocked me for one year without any notice. I wonder, how a temporary administrator can block a Permanent Administrator. The user https://sd.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%B2%D8%B1_%D8%A8%D8%AD%D8%AB:%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%8A_%D9%86%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%B2

has vandalized the Main page, removing almost all prominent features maintained be me and has made the Sindhi Wikipedia a Religious Platform with unilateral extremist religious islamic views, without any references.

It is therefore requested that I may be returned all my RIGHTS of ADMINISTRATION back.

Inspire Campaign on content curation & review

edit

I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.

All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:39, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Confirmation discussions

edit

Dear Pmlineditor,

As you probably know, the confirmation discussions for Stewards have been closed. In order to determine the outcome of these discussions, you are invited to comment on Talk:Stewards/Confirm/2016 before scheduled closure of the confirmation section "one week after the appointment of the newly elected stewards" (Sunday 6th of March, 17:22 UTC), though the closing time might be extended at the ElectCom's discretion for an extra week if it is believed "further input is required before concluding". All stewards are welcome to comment, including those newly elected.

For those who ran for confirmation, consider revising comments regarding you, and replying to those where appropriate. Savhñ 08:01, 4 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

No renaming between November 20 and November 27

edit

Hi,

You’re getting this because you’re a steward or global renamer. The Community Tech team are working on cross-wiki watchlists. We need to add a couple of fields to the localuser table in centralauth database. In order to be able to do this, we’d need to run a script that will get in the way of renaming users. Our apologies – we realize this is getting in the way of your work.

We ask that you do not rename anyone between 00:00 November 20 (UTC) and 00:00 November 27 (UTC).

(UTC means that if you live in the Americas, it will be on the evening or afternoon of November 19 when the script starts running, and if you live in Oceania or eastern Asia, it can be closer midday on November 27 before we can be sure the script is no longer running.)

Phabricator task.

If there are any problems related to this, or you have any questions, please write me on my talk page. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:39, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

hallo, on https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Countervandalism_Network/Channels#Multilingual_or_multiple_projects I found you as op or owner? Is this an old wikispecies irc channel?

The text: #cvn-species-connect +nt Bots: CVN-ClerkBot, CVNBot11 local ops: Pmlineditor

Dan Koehl (talk) 02:22, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I think that there used to be a bot reporting recent changes from Wikispecies there several years back (~2011?). I don't know if that bot is active anymore, and I'm not sure how to set it up either. I've given you op rights in that channel in case you wish to make it active again. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 12:03, 15 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot, yes we will use that channel well, I think. I created yesterday a new channel, #wikispecies-admins, and followed as far I saw, all recommendations for setting up a new channel, with op rights etc, but today it doesn't accept me as op, while info command returns me as owner, very strange, are you good with irc channels, any idea what to do? Help design a new feature to stop harassing emails

edit

Hi there,

The Anti-Harassment Tools team plans to start develop of a new feature to allow users to restrict emails from new accounts. This feature will allow an individual user to stop harassing emails from coming through the Special:EmailUser system from abusive sockpuppeting accounts.

We’re inviting you to join the discussion because you have experience dealing with abusive sockpuppeting accounts and you work across many wikis. We think that your insights will help us build a better feature.

You can leave comments on this discussion page or send an email to the Anti-Harassment Tools team.

It is important to hear from a broad range of people who are interested in the design of the tool, so we hope you join the discussion and let us know how it would work best for you.

Emergency in KaWiki

edit

Dear steward,
Please read my explanation thoroughly. It is about an inexorable situation in the Georgian Wikipedia, the long-established. Every attempt to solve the problem locally fails again and again. So, please, do not be indifferent.
The requests are extraordinary, so I do not write on a general page, but personally.
Best regards, Deu. 18:05, 30 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Edit filter 80 on the test wiki

edit

Hi! I see you enabled testwiki:Special:AbuseFilter/80 several months ago. The tag it produces is slightly confusing for people who wish to patrol for copyright violations. Would you mind if we disabled the filter or changed the tag name? Thanks! Enterprisey (talk) 17:58, 31 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Enterprisey: sure, feel free to change it as you like. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 08:38, 1 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

196.245.172.0/22 still spamming

edit

Hi. A couple of months ago you globally blocked 196.245.172.0/22 for spamming. As this range is still spamming meta; would you mind extending that spam for six months to match what I have just put in place for meta? special:globalblock/196.245.172.0/22 Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 08:14, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Done, thanks for telling me. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 17:06, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Community Wishlist Survey 2020

edit

Hello!

You are getting this message because you've previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey, in either the Wikisource or Wiktionary categories. I wanted to let you know that this year's survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until November 11. Unlike previous years, we are only accepting proposals for non-Wikipedia content projects with no dedicated teams (i.e., Wikibooks, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikiversity, Wikispecies, Wikivoyage, and Wikinews). You can learn more on the survey page.

You can vote on proposals from November 20 to December 2. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won't send out a separate reminder to you about that. We look forward to your participation. Thank you! IFried (WMF) (talk) 18:52, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hi Pmlineditor!

You are receiving this message because you have signed as a General member of the West Bengal Wikimedians User Group.

Like previous years, we are asking our members again to request for support if they wish to plan and execute Wikimedia projects or activities during next year, which require funding. We are open for such requests until November 30, 2020. Based on the fund requests from the community members, the user group will place Rapid grant proposal to Wikimedia Foundation. If the rapid grant request is approved, funds will be allocated to the community members accordingly.

We can only approve request for volunteers who are from West Bengal and is limited to activities where in some way, West Bengal is included. The decision to approve or disapprove your request will be handled by Representative members of the user group.

Regards,
Bodhisattwa
