6 proofread campaigns 1 proofread campaigns A one year-long proofread campaign was held on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose instead of 6 smaller campaigns
2 photo-documentation projects   Not done During and after the second wave of COVID-19, it was felt that organizing photo-documentation projects in crowded places can bring serious health issues to the project leads and thus the idea was dropped for the entire year.

  • GLAM Collaboration with British Library

Digitization program
  • Targeted approach to books which are missing or defective on Bengali Wikisource led to search and scan the books which were needed the most.
Infrastructure support
  • First try from the user group to support volunteers to improve their infrastructure to edit
  • Wifi-routers were installed for 2 volunteers for them to avail high-speed internet

  • For legal reasons, prizes cannot be sent outside India, which led to low participation.
  • Long proofread contests on Bengali Wikisource might led to exhaustion of the editors.

Infrastructure promotion
  • Lack of promotion led to low turnout, only 4 volunteers were served
Photo-documentation projects
  • Idea to execute photo-documentation projects in crowded areas were dropped because of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • What would you do differently next time?
    • The projects and events will be actively promoted for more participation
    • Wikimedia Bangladesh will be consulted on finding out ways to send prizes for Bangladeshi winners of different competitions.
