Requests for new languages/Wikipedia French_Simple (2) (with parentheses around "2") redirects to the third proposal. Maybe that's why you thought it was closed. πr2 (t • c) 12:25, 9 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re: Citations provided for Netherlands server

edit

Actually I wasn't looking for any information, because I already more–or–less knew what the servers are used for and how the network is built. I was just under the impression that providing people with incomplete information might cause them to jump to wrong conclusions; it's really important to know what the servers are used for (and how) to be able to judge whether they should be secured better or transferred to a different location. I appreciate your effort in posting the links to the talk page, thanks :) odder (talk) 17:49, 15 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I saw the discsussion is closed. But if you want further information, I may be able to give an answer. 2A02:8422:1191:6E00:56E6:FCFF:FEDB:2BBA (talk) 14:56, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

So, be bold and Ask me then...

I also want write this about about a (probably) TIA descendant : Do you know US government have a list(s)? of live patterns. In th(is)(ose)? list, there (is)(are) (probably) bad patterns. In certain countries you can get killed if you have a bad match. I like the way they kill : There are no human decision. the persons are killed by computers programs. Of course it implies bugs. It is linked to drone and this interview extracted from a french public radio sum up all information I found.

Before listening, you need to know that drones aren't always controlled by pilots in a US base. When the job is simple, (you don't need human inteligence) the work can be controlled by a program. The drone recieve visual pattern to recognize the target. Then it automaticly take off, go to the location, look for the target, and shot it along the people who had the bad idea to be at wrong place at wrong time (due to ASM/bomb explosion length). Finally it automatically return and land. From the begining to the landing, there is no human

Peoples who listen this Radio program know about spying programs (not only US ones), long before Snowden. Authors considers listener know that.

You'll find what you want between 09:12 & 13:25. I am sorry for the language, but it is well-know french institution don't offer any translation.

April 2013:<html><iframe src="http://www.franceculture.fr/player/export-reecouter?content=4620876" width="481" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" height="139"></iframe></html>2A02:8422:1191:6E00:56E6:FCFF:FEDB:2BBA 23:58, 11 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you want to write an English version of the article. I suggest you start to look at those places. Everything broadcasted on this radio is available during 1000 days for listing on their website.

I found a paper which contains probably wrong things but look interesting. 2A02:8422:1191:6E00:56E6:FCFF:FEDB:2BBA 09:36, 21 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re:Downloaded Chizuko Watanabe article

edit

Hello. I received Watanabe's thesis.

Even though this case is a "borderline", the particularity of the Liceo Mexicano Japonés have had many scholars make studies and thesis about it, and the meeting of two cultures. Indeed, this article, Saito & Tanaka, 日本メキシコ学院十年のあゆみ, and maybe Masterson, according to my opinion, all confirm the notability of the subject.

However, there are some sources in the article that should not be there, due to be too trivial, useless and because do not contribute any substantial to article; such as:

Some other are peripheral sources that can remain as it.

While quotations of the sources are mainly in English or some in Japanese, would be good if those are translated to Spanish, as I made with some of footnotes on w:es:The Japanese in Latin America. Please notify me if you want to translate those quotations.

Finally, most of this sources (Watanabe, Masterson, Kikumura-Yano, Saito & Tanaka, Mexico Journal) are useful to develop even more related articles in Spanish Wikipedia and in English Wikipedia as well: Inmigración japonesa en México (Q), Inmigración japonesa en Brasil (Q), Inmigración japonesa en el Perú (Q), Nikkei (o diáspora japonesa) (Q), Nisei, Sansei.

In addition, even though Tanaka's article Japan as seen from Latin American students in Japan (1997) does not serve as a source of Liceo Mexicano Japones, it is a good source for en:Language minority students in Japanese classrooms and a lesser extent in en:Monbukagakusho Scholarship; both articles do not exist in ESWIKI and in ENWIKI need to be expanded.

If you have any questions, please send me a message. --Zerabat (discusión) 16:35, 27 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Re:Answer & quotations

edit

Here you have the translation of the quotations, with the respective number of reference. Please copy only the text that is not in bold.

  • 7.- (Watanabe, 151) => it is the same quotation cited by Masterson in pages 214 & 215 (see above cited text between english quoting marks " and ").
  • 16.- (Mexico Journal) => it is the exactly same source than ref. 1, and there you should use a named reference to avoid duplicated content and reduce the size of article.

As you can see, I translated those which was in English and are partially or totally important. Regarding the comment of AFD, please do what you need, and if you want publish my comment, please do it if you want. I took a wikibreak in ESWIKI due to the warm climate in some part of the community and to avoid either more problems or harm the community making hot-minded comments. A few weeks away from eswiki maybe will clear up my mind and the other ones.

Regarding w:es:The Japanese in Latin America, I will end the translation and add more quotations into the footnotes; since then I will sent you the wikicode to replace the older one. With the article w:en:New Worlds, New Lives, I will translate it one day, but by now I am busy with University issues. If you have more questions, please send me a message. --Zerabat (discusión) 03:47, 28 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Re:Found kanji of Chizuko Watanabe

edit

Hello. The US civil law system in which the married woman acquire the husband's surname have made some confussion, but this system in most Continental civil law does not rule anymore, more or less. Instead, in some countries is called (using the author as an example) Chizuko Watanabe de Hougen (Chizuko Watanabe of Hougen) but this denotes some type of possession, and then is every time in lesser use. In most progressive countries the wife's name is the same that when was single. But maybe to avoid confussion to reader when reads the sources, in Spanish Wikipedia should be used GIVENNAME FAMILYNAME de HUSBANDNAME. I do not know how should be named in other Wikipedias, but at least could be as this in Spanish. I do not think to be necessary to put the kanji into the article nor an explanation of that Hougen is the surname adopted after being married, but if would existe an article about her, of course there should have that explanation.

I do not know if I commented what you want to know, but if not, please send me a message. Greetings. --Zerabat (discusión) 00:13, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

I was surprised by this edit. Did the Texas group go through the user group approval process and I somehow missed this? If not, the group should go under the "proposed" groups section. --Another Believer (talk) 01:37, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

JSTOR account redistribution (The Wikipedia Library)

edit

Hi - according to our records you received a free account for JSTOR through The Wikipedia Library. Because we’ve used up all of our allocated accounts, and it’s been some time since they were distributed, we want to redistribute any accounts that aren’t being used to users on our waitlist.

If you’re still using, or plan to use, your JSTOR access, no problem! Simply head over to the Library Card platform, log in, and request a renewal of your account. You should be able to do this from your user page, or the JSTOR signup page. If you can’t find the renewal button, or have any other issues or questions about this, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. We’ll begin redistributing inactive accounts in September; if you request renewal after then we will only be able to reactivate your account if we have spots remaining. SWANs gathering for a conversation

Hello everyone!

The Strategic Wikimedia Affiliates Network (SWAN) is a developing forum for all Wikimedia movement affiliates to share ideas about current developments in the Wikimedia Movement. It expands on the model of the All-Affiliates Brand Meeting to help lay some of the groundwork for further Wikimedia 2030 strategy process work.

At this meeting we will focus on the results of the Movement Charter ratification. We will also discuss the aftermath of the Board of Trustees' decision to veto the Movement Charter, including their recent proposals. We will also cover updates about upcoming Wikimania 2024.

This month, we are meeting on Sunday, July 28, and you are all invited to RSVP here.

UTC meeting times are and
