- Personal info: Hello again. My name is Matt and in addition to having served as a Steward for the last few years, I am also an administrator and bureaucrat on the English Wikipedia and an administrator on Wikimedia Commons. It has again been a busy year for me on the projects and in real-life, but I hope the coming year will be quieter now that I have returned to the United States from abroad. In real life, I am a lawyer in Washington, DC, and a community member on the Wikimedia Foundation's Audit Committee and Wikimedia Washington, DC's Governance Committee. I was very happy to participate in the Steward meeting in San Francisco and get a broader view of the areas where Stewards are contributing. With the continued renaming implementation and the need for more complex actions related to manual account merges and (possible) usurpation requests, I believe I have skills and abilities to contribute to the community as a Steward and seek confirmation to pursue those and other central-auth tasks (e.g., new OAuth program), in addition to the other duties and responsibilities of Stewardship. Please feel free to approach me here or on my talk page with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:59, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

- Remove Though I appreciate Matthew's work on the wikis quite a lot, I am still of the opinion that global account renamer rights would absolutely suffice him. --Vogone (talk) 14:22, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Also a little concerning that after 4 years of being a steward MBisanz still doesn't seem to be quite familiar with checking user group rights on local wikis.[1] --Vogone (talk) 01:50, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I looked at Special:UserGroupRights quickly and confused the listing the Groups column with the line item in the Bureaucrats' powers entry. MBisanz talk 12:31, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

- Keep This is a tough call as activity is a bit low outside global renaming, however the candidate made a convincing argument about increased future activity. Also worth mentioning is that their membership on the English Wikipedia Audit Subcommittee is over and will leave them with more time to concentrate on their other wiki responsibilities. --Rschen7754 15:45, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

- Remove - more active on his home wiki than as a steward and he does not need the steward rights since his only activity levels is for the 'global renamer right' , per Vogone..Edit: just realised i asked for his removal for the same reason last year which means nothing has changed...--Stemoc 01:13, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

- Strong keep. He was actually active not only in renaming but also on changing user rights and locking here and there. Also, he was one of the most participative stewards on stewards' meeting. I worry about inactive stewards, but that is not the case here.—Teles «Talk to me ˱C L @ S˲» 19:54, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- Keep Similar to what Teles said, let me agree that not all steward activity can be measured by log actions. Matt continues to actively participate in steward discussions and meetings, providing valued advice and perspective. While this may result in other stewards having the "on-wiki" action, this in no way diminishes Matt's contribution to the smooth function of the stewards as a group. -- Avi (talk) 21:54, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

- Weak keep - His contributions to the rename requests are just great and I understand that for some things the steward flag is simply needed instead of "only" a global rename flag. However, some more activity outside the renames would certainly be good, otherwise the global rename right will at some point be seriously the better choice, imo. -Barras talk 18:49, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
