No renaming between November 20 and November 27 edit

Hi,

You’re getting this because you’re a steward or global renamer. The Community Tech team are working on cross-wiki watchlists. We need to add a couple of fields to the localuser table in centralauth database. In order to be able to do this, we’d need to run a script that will get in the way of renaming users. Our apologies – we realize this is getting in the way of your work.

We ask that you do not rename anyone between 00:00 November 20 (UTC) and 00:00 November 27 (UTC).

(UTC means that if you live in the Americas, it will be on the evening or afternoon of November 19 when the script starts running, and if you live in Oceania or eastern Asia, it can be closer midday on November 27 before we can be sure the script is no longer running.)

Phabricator task.

If there are any problems related to this, or you have any questions, please write me on my talk page. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:42, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Next steps for the wish “confirmation prompt for the rollback link” edit

Hello, a while ago you participated in a feedback round about a proposal how accidental clicks on the rollback link could be avoided. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and ideas!
Looking at the feedback and the rollback situation in different wikis, the development team decided how to approach this wish: As a default, most wikis won’t have a confirmation. But users who wish to have one, can enable it in their preferences, which will add a confirmation prompt to the rollback link on the diff page and on the list pages. The prompt won’t be a pop-up, but an inline prompt like for the thanks confirmation. You can read more about the planned solution and what influenced this decision on the project page. -- Best, Johanna Strodt (WMDE) (talk) 09:52, 16 July 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Functionaries Meeting edit

Greetings,

Thanks for signing up to attend the UCoC functionaries meeting. This initial meeting is designed for sitting Arbitrators, Stewards, and Global Sysops to discuss holes that exist in global conduct and dispute discussion and enforcement. I hope and plan to hold more meetings like this in the future, expanding out the invitations to those like yourself who hold important roles across the wikis. For this particular meeting, however, I don't think you're going to find it very useful for what you do. I'm happy to make sure to personally notify you when I'm setting up a meeting that's more appropriate for the roles you're currently occupying, your input is valuable. Keegan (WMF) (talk) 21:08, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Oh I see. I thought it was open for global community, and tend to attend to observe what global community thinks about the UCoC. If its only open for GS, Stewards, arbcoms, than You can cross out me from the list. Best,—*Youngjin (talk) 21:12, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ESEAP Preparatory Council voting reminder, clarification, and update for community and individual seats edit

Dear ESEAP Wikimedians,

This is a reminder, clarification, and update to the voting of ESEAP Preparatory Council's community seats and individual seats.

Community Seats:

  • It is important to note that individual votes are not accepted in this category, only votes casted on behalf of an ESEAP community are accepted. The votes for Community seats are exclusive to the ESEAP-verified Communities themselves.
  • Votes representing Wikimedia projects must be cast by an admin of the Wikimedia project, with a link to the discussion within the project.
  • Other votes representing communities must be casted by a leading member of the community, with a link to the discussion within the community.
  • Votes that does not meet the community seat's voting guidelines will be stricken out and not counted.
  • To learn more about the community process, please refer to the voting guidelines on this meta page.
  • Considering that there seem to be some misunderstandings of this voting category, the voting for the community seats will be extended and will end at .

Individual Seats:

The final results of all seats will be announced by 10th September 2023. We strongly encourage your participation in this voting process. If you have any questions, please leave a message on the talk page.

Kind regards,
Rachmat04, on behalf of the Process Oversight Sub-Committee, 10:23, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

This is former YShibata (WMF), a question edit

안녕하세요 Youngjin, it was good to see you at ESEAPs! Now I'm a member of the first affiliate in Japan. Wikimedia Korea kindly send us a blessing email, which we appreciated from the bottom of hearts. We've been struggling at the governance. You're a member of the board member (it means you don't get any regular payment, don't you?), so I'd like to ask you that when you organize/are invited an event, can you be paid for the day(s) in addition to travel expenses? 감사합니다 in advance!YShibata (talk) 13:05, 10 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I am becoming a paid staff of WMKR since next year, It will take a while but I am planning to organize to have meeting with your group. And for the expenses for affiliate organized event, paid staff can have some staff payment for event day (if its happening on weekend), and if nessaccery and have budget (which is approved by your affiliate), than you can support travel expenses. --*Youngjin (talk) 05:27, 12 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
고맙습니다@*Youngjin! So, a board member can't have a payment for the hours/day, right? It's great if we can have a meeting. I'll post at our Slack about it. YShibata (talk) 12:50, 12 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This is just an our case. It depends on how your affiliates rule and regulation does, if your rules allowing its ok to pay travel expenses for them. Note that it is possible to make board member as paid staff basis(then that person get paid)--*Youngjin (talk) 03:52, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
정말 감사합니다. Good to know, how helpful. I haven't seen grants' budget sheet contents for payments to board members. So I'd thought paying to board members is not trustworthy.YShibata (talk) 10:01, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
