Hello, I have been working on fixing lint errors as there are currently well over 700,000 of them. While I have been able to fix dozens so far, there is a good amount that require administrator rights to fix as they are on protected pages. It would be counterproductive to make edit requests on dozens of pages and, as such, I am requesting limited administrator permissions. I am an administrator on the English Wikipedia and am familiar with the admin toolset, and as a bot operator/programmer and Computer Science major, I am comfortable fixing these errors, including those in complex templates. I have carefully reviewed the limited admin policy and will only use the admin toolset for approved work. The regular term of one month will give me enough time to make some progress on this task and, specifically, the ones that are admin protected. Thank you for your consideration, TheSandDoctor Talk 00:06, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
Just to clarify as I didn't realize at time of submission that the date had rolled over UTC (still the 31st here), this is not intended as an april fools joke. This is very much a real nomination. --TheSandDoctor Talk 01:11, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- @TheSandDoctor: can you give some examples of protected pages with lint errors and how you would fix them? --DannyS712 (talk) 00:14, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

- Strong support I was going to just give this regular support, and then I started to look into the breakdown of lint errors and the amount that need to be fixed. This is mindless and thankless work - I'd call it scut work if I were at work. The fact that TSD is willing to take on this project is awesome. As an enwiki admin, and a global renamer, I have no concerns with his ability to use these permissions appropriately. ~riley (talk) 00:15, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support - Trusted and experienced Wikipedia admin (and excellent programmer), who will surely abide by the limited nature of their clearly valid need. — Coffee // have a cup // 00:22, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

- @TheSandDoctor: any clue about how many admin-protected pages need work? This is more about if this should be a bot-flagged activity (e.g. if you will have thousands or more to do..) — xaosflux Talk 01:41, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: From what I can see, odds are that there is not enough for a bot - if I start seeing that trend, then we'll have to go down that route. --TheSandDoctor Talk 01:47, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support fine for this use case, if the volume is very large let's revisit bot flag to avoid flooding recent changes. — xaosflux Talk 02:15, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

- Support, without a doubt clear need for the permission. Trusted enough and will be useful to hold it permanently. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat [ talk ] 03:21, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support No issue, competent user and operator of many bot tasks at enwp. Just a ping to @TheSandDoctor: to confirm this is for indef? As we typically do LAs for 1 month here. Trusted and clear demonstrated need. Camouflaged Mirage (talk) 09:15, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Camouflaged Mirage: Per my statement, this is for 1 month. Not indef. --TheSandDoctor Talk 15:42, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
