We seek to proactively

  • reduce the gender gap in Wikipedia articles by meeting, attracting and training contributors who understand gender gap issues in Wikipedia and create articles accordingly;
  • seek for more gender equity and make the Wikipedia community more inclusive by meeting, attracting, training, and showing appreciation to new contributors from all genders;
  • make the Wikimedia community more diverse and engaged by promoting cross-project cooperation and synergy on gender gap issues and encouraging participants to find resources and support in the Wikimedian movement to facilitate scale-up.

Goals

edit

The main objective is to increase diversity and reduce the "gender gap" within Wikipedia and the Wikimedia movement in general:

  • enrich the contents concerning women, gender and groups under represented in Wikimedia projects (especially in French)
  • offering space, support and training to people who want to collaborate on projects
  • coordinating people in order to involve more women to write on Wikipedia and to improve the quality of the entries
  • creating events, meetings, edit-a-thons, conferences, campaigns aimed at raising awareness of women's and gender issues and increasing the Wikimedia movement worldwide
  • collaborating with other groups that have similar goals: WikiWomen, Wikimujeres, Art + Feminism, Whose Knowledge?, WikiDonne, LGBT, Wiki Loves Women Etc.

What we currently do

edit

Our activities are both online and offline. See our metric here Les sans pagEs/Metrics

Offline local activities

edit

We are currently running face-to-face activities in several geographical locations.
Typically, groups

  • participate in local cultural events to take photos
  • organize meetups and workshops
  • train new contributors
  • organize & participate to Art+Feminism events, Wikiloves pride ect.. - organize editathons with GLAM institutions and/or participate to such events
  • join local events organized by other parties and promote LSP

All events are registered : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projet:Les_sans_pagEs/Calendrier

We also participate to large-scale, international Wikimedia events: that way, les sans pagEs can learn from international experience and share its experience with other language editions of Wikipedia.

Online activities

edit

Number of created articles per month.

They include writing articles, looking for sources, joining online drive, creating ressources and collecting tools, setting up lists of articles to create etc.
In December 2022, the community is tracking over 10 000 articles on its evaluation table.

Communication and social media

edit

What we intend to work on in the future

edit
  • continue the essential work being done online (writing, sourcing, and evaluating articles... adding media... improving wikidata...). This include taking part in cross-project workshops and editathons, for instance Art+Feminism or GLAM events
  • continue and expand our geographical face-to-face presence and activities (holding regular meetings, training new contributors, )
  • build a website showcasing gender gap analyses and resources to make Wikipedia a better place for everyone and help new people contribute
  • take part in wikimedian events, workshops and Wikimania, French Wikiconvention, GLAM events in French speaking countries etc.
  • promoting online results via social media and gain media coverage on the inclusivity efforts of Wikimedia projects and Wikipedia in particular.
  • consolidate the governance and professionalisation of our association
  • assure a stable revenue stream to be able to continue our actions in the long run
