Done the moving, but I am not sure what to do with [1] and [2]. Neither of them seem fit for the renamed category. Once somebody sorts thru those, move the category page as well :) Snowolf How can I help? 06:55, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Please correct a spelling mistake

Hi. I created the French version of the wiki "Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International". However, while I did it, I didn´t realize that I made a mistake and named the French wiki ¨Église de Dieu Ministérielle de Jésus-Christ internationale¨, ignoring that the "i" in "internationale" should be capital. Please correct the Wiki name, so that it becomes ¨Église de Dieu Ministérielle de Jésus-Christ Internationale¨, or at least explain to me thoroughly how to change it myself, because I tried many ways but in the end found that only editors with special rights can change such things. Thanks a lot! User:joseruiz1986

Wikimedia CAT and Associació Amical Viquipèdia -> Amical Wikimedia

Hello. I'm updating Amical Wikimedia information since we have agreed to change our name. Is it possible to move all the subpages from Associació Amical Viquipèdia to subpages of Amical Wikimedia? ONLY the subpages, the page itself will be turned into a redirection.

Also, apart from this, I need the same with Wikimedia CAT subpages. Some of them are obsolete and shall be deleted, but I will do it later.

Finally, all those subpages should be categorized into Category:Amical Wikimedia, and Category:Associació Amical Viquipèdia and Category:Wikimedia CAT should be deleted.

Thank you in advance.--Arnaugir (talk) 12:53, 13 May 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it is possible for admins, who have the move-subpages right, to do that move. However, categories cannot be automatically changed (a bot could do this, or someone could manually handle it). Is there a link to consensus about this? PiRSquared17 (talk) 01:25, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
I will do the categories, okay. Just move the subpages :-) well, the organization now is going to be named Amical Wikimedia and hopefully will be recognized very soon by the WMF, so I thought I would start renaming and merging things onto a new updated page, since those are obsolete (Wikimedia CAT name is no longer used, and so is Associació Amical Viquipèdia). Thank you--Arnaugir (talk) 08:15, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Done, but some could not be moved where page already exists (like /bylaws). See Special:PrefixIndex/Associació Amical Viquipèdia and Special:PrefixIndex/Wikimedia CAT. PiRSquared17 (talk) 12:35, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Never mind, I went back and histmerged those. Everything should be fixed except for the categories, double redirects, and possibly outdated links. PiRSquared17 (talk) 12:48, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

Exemption doctrine policy -> Meta:Exemption doctrine policy

Per Talk:Exemption doctrine policy, it only applies to Meta-Wiki. Alternatively, move to Meta:Exemption doctrine policy proposal (2013) or similar. PiRSquared17 (talk) 00:59, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Where's the issue in simply doing it? It's Meta-ness is obvious. --MF-W 19:58, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
Meta:Exemption doctrine policy is already a redirect to another proposal. Since nobody has complained, I'll just do it. PiRSquared17 (talk) 14:11, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
Please fix the links to point to Meta:Fair use, then move. Thanks. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 18:10, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Board elections to Wikimedia Foundation Board elections

The following discussion is closed: decision made to move pages, and now post election and can be undertaken — billinghurst sDrewth 16:14, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Board elections to Wikimedia Foundation Board elections

  • Nowadays there are many Wikimedia boards, so this needs disambiguating. I would simply move the page, but there seem to be over 2000 subpages that also need to be moved here, so I'm posting this here both to ensure that there is consensus for the move and to ask for (bot?) help to move all of the subpages. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:03, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
  • Agree with Mike. John Vandenberg (talk) 06:29, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, we only have one board where the entire community is part of the election. This is fundamentally a community exercise and the pages are community pages rather than WMF board pages. Keeping at the shorter name does have its benefits. It would be good to get more community input into this move request. John Vandenberg (talk) 06:40, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
  •   Support. A disambig page would be good. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 06:57, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Agree with move to more specific title. Tony (talk) 07:53, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Which other Wikimedia Boards do exist? I think the current title works well and there is no need to complicate it. --MF-W 16:27, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
    • Pick a Wikimedia chapter - each of them has a board. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 17:26, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
      • Hm, that is indeed true. I hadn't thought of it because I almost only read stuff about German-speaking chapters which use a translation not in the least similar to the word "Board". However, I still think that it is quite clear that in most cases "the Board" refers to that one of the Foundation. As John Vandenberg points out, "the Board"'s elections are also the only ones who take place on Meta, while chapter Boards are elected in assemblies. They are probably also one of the few occasions on which users from other wikis come to Meta in high numbers, so I think having them at a quite simple name might be better for their (and Meta's...) accessibility. Of course the proposed new name is still better than this historic one ;) --MF-W 18:44, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

There's 5 to 1 to move the page & subpages, and this has been opened since August 2012. I think that enough time has elapsed. Could a uninvolved admin please have a look at this? Thanks. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 16:31, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

  • As an uninvloved admin, it seems clear that this will pass, but the standard move only moves 100 subpages, and this has 2200+ subpages. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this without massive manual labor? -- Avi (talk) 17:22, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
The movepages.py script to the rescue! - However indeed it's a very large ammount of subpages. Perhaps advertise this at Meta:Babel to gauge more comments before this massive move is done would be a good idea? This has to be done with a bot (to avoid clogging Meta's RC for the whole month [:-)] and because it'll be tedious to do this manually) Thanks. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 17:27, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Posted at Babel. -- Avi (talk) 17:46, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
  • The move seems fine to me, but I agree with Nemo's comment that some of these subpages should probably be killed off before the move. --MZMcBride (talk) 06:59, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
    • I'm not a botop, but I think it is safe to say this move has consensus to be performed. Someone who runs a bot should prune-then-move. -- Avi (talk) 17:23, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
      • Thanks Avraham. I've created User:Thehelpfulone/Board which is a list of all the pages in the Board elections/* namespace and the corresponding page that I plan to move the pages to. I'm using Wikimedia Foundation elections/ as a prefix to match the naming choice of this year's Election Committee. Could someone have a look over that for any obvious problems? Thehelpfulone 15:11, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
  •   Comment I don't really have an issue with the move itself (the logic makes sense) but I'd prefer we wait until the close of voting to avoid any chance of oddness or problems with the election. Jalexander (talk) 21:46, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Comment: No problem with the basic concept, but please wait until this year's elections are complete. Right now there are all kinds of links on emails and various projects that will be broken and not detected here on Meta should a current election page get moved. Out of curiosity, what happens to all those translations? I understood there were some issues with moving massively translated pages, but that could have been resolved. Risker (talk) 21:55, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Wikimedia nomail list to Wikimedia Foundation nomail list

The following discussion is closed: no objections and general agreement to the move. — billinghurst sDrewth 16:17, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Wikimedia nomail list to Wikimedia Foundation nomail list

  • It is important to make it clear which Wikimedia organisation will be respecting this request not to be emailed. As it stands, the WMF appears to be committing to this nomail list, but it is not obvious which other Wikimedia organisations will also agree not to contact the specified usernames with regards their board elections and referenda. If it's just the WMF that is committing to this, then the page should probably be renamed; otherwise the organisations that will respect this should be named on the page. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 21:33, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
  •   Comment I don't have an issue with this but if we do the move in the next 2-3 weeks we should make doubly sure the redirect stays in place (otherwise I can imagine reasons to delete it) given that it was linked in the recent board email. Jalexander (talk) 21:48, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
  • I guess there should be no problems with this move except if some software function sending mails relies on the exact title. --MF-W 00:56, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Done no disagreement, and the timing issue is now resolved. — billinghurst sDrewth 16:17, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Like other Templates in Category:Headers, + it is needed to use the Translate Extension (TNT etc. dos not work, lua error). Thank you.--Steinsplitter (talk) 08:30, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

Return this page to its proper position within the WMF elections pages. The page is potentially linked from hundreds of other projects, as well as templates and other pages. This page is primarily an "election" page as opposed to a "grants" page. It is noted that all of the other pages related to the FDC election, which was held jointly with the WMF Board election, remained in place. Apparently caught in a mass moved by GrantsBot as described here, but this specific page is not mentioned in that discussion. Risker (talk) 03:35, 24 December 2013 (UTC)
