Adding a babel
editAs you are applying for a global renamer right, would you mind adding a Babel code in the form ... {{#babel:xx|xx1|..|xxn}}
to your user page. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 04:06, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
Global renamer
editHi Litlok. Just wanted to inform you that Matanya added you to the global renamer user group today, thus you are now able to globally rename accounts via Special:GlobalRenameUser. Good luck and if you ever have any questions, do not hesitate to ask of course! Trijnsteltalk 16:28, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

editHello Litlok! Thank you for alerting me about this parasite carriage! That is strange, I'm using the default signature... any idea what might be causing this it? Greetings!--Leon saudanha (talk) 22:44, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hello again Litlok! good morning! I left yesterday before you answer, so I'm just commenting today. Would if I changing my signature this problem is solved, at least while the exact cause is not identified? Greetings!--Leon saudanha (talk) 13:15, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.
As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.
An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.
The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.
Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign
If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.
Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

Rename
editHi, regarding Special:GlobalRenameQueue/request/19620. User didn't ask to rename their username to "Jochanan1". You should have deny the request or if you can't understand request, just leave it and let someone else (preferable someone who speaks Finnish) handle it. --Stryn (talk) 07:31, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Plagiarism detection
editHi! You voted for improving plagiarism detection as an important suggestions in the community wishlist survey last year. I'm pinging people who showed interest in that task to tell them we have some suggestions for how things could look, if you'd like to glance at them and give us some feedback. They're available here: phab:T120435#2266283. It's easiest if comments are left in Phabricator, since that's where much of the development is happening, but they can be left on Meta too, of course. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 17:21, 13 May 2016 (UTC)
Cross-wiki watchlist
editHi again! You also voted for the cross-wiki watchlist as an important suggestions in the community wishlist survey last year. I'm pinging editors who showed interest in that task to tell them we have some suggestions for how things could look, if you'd like to glance at them and give us some feedback. You can find them on the project page on Meta. If you'd like to share any comments, you're very welcome to do so on the talk page. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 01:00, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
Your email to me
editHi, Litlok:
I saw through the Wikipedia message system that you had sent me an email. Unfortunately my email server is down at the moment, so I cannot read it. If the content of your message permits, I would recommend you to write it here instead.

2016 Community Wishlist Survey
editHi,
You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.
The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)
No renaming between November 20 and November 27
editHi,
You’re getting this because you’re a steward or global renamer. The Community Tech team are working on cross-wiki watchlists. We need to add a couple of fields to the localuser table in centralauth database. In order to be able to do this, we’d need to run a script that will get in the way of renaming users. Our apologies – we realize this is getting in the way of your work.
We ask that you do not rename anyone between 00:00 November 20 (UTC) and 00:00 November 27 (UTC).
(UTC means that if you live in the Americas, it will be on the evening or afternoon of November 19 when the script starts running, and if you live in Oceania or eastern Asia, it can be closer midday on November 27 before we can be sure the script is no longer running.)
If there are any problems related to this, or you have any questions, please write me on my talk page. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:42, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
User:Deletedarticle
editHi Litlok, IMHO this is a misleading username, since it corresponds to some elements of mediawiki's interface. --Vituzzu (talk) 16:26, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- Vituzzu, I'm not sure it is ambiguous, as in the interface the usernames in the history of the article, and the titles of the articles are clearly separated. But feel free to revert the renaming if you think that's not OK. Litlok (talk) 19:50, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

editBonjour Litlok !
Help need/ Sugestions
editHello, Good Day, I just wanted to know how I can retain my name with the following acronym (WMF) in the Wikimedia project and another how I can participate in the (Group / OTRS) which is also a program that there is in Wikimedia? An ordinary user can join this program. --187.58.106.221 14:49, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello,
- The acronym WMF is reserved for the Wikimedia Foundation staff and is therefore not allowed for regular users such as me, for example. The process to join the OTRS team is described in the page OTRS/Recruiting. Litlok (talk) 14:54, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thank You, Litlok! Not delete this page, please. --187.58.106.221 23:13, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

[Wikipedia & Education User Group] Updates: November 2018
editGreetings,
Integrating Wikimedia with education is a powerful strategy for the outreach of Wikimedia projects. Realising this concept, a group of leaders promoted this and formed the Wikipedia Education Collaborative. After some time, this evolved to become a user group, officially recognised by the Affiliations Committee in June 2018. The user group had its first board elections earlier in September. In the process to formalise activities and give a shape the user group for long-term sustainability, we are now revamping our processes. Thanks for supporting us during incubation stages, we are now inviting you to formally join the user group by following the instructions on the members' page. Being a member will allow you to be a part of this wonderful collaboration and also do interesting stuff.
Kind regards

editShouldn’t this page say "a sysop?" – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 04:58, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

- Also, it says "bureaucrat" when it should say "a bureaucrat." – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 02:01, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Ilovemydoodle: thank you once again. As a native French speaker, I wasn't aware of this rule (in French, we can "factorize" such expressions). Litlok (talk) 15:07, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
- I am glad to help. – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 10:00, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- This can work in English, but only in certain in situations. For example: If you were the only sysop and/or bureaucrat, it would be correct to factorize (as in "[...] I am the sysop and bureaucrat [...]"). – Ilovemydoodle (talk) 13:43, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
