A barnstar for you!
editHi! I just want to thank you and give you this barnstar for your help with the translation of the 2011 fundraiser! The fundraiser was the best we ever had, both in terms of the amount we collected and in terms of number of translations. We couldn't have done either one without the help we got from you and other translators. If you are interested, we made a report, which has some statistics about the translations.
And: I have one more request, and that is that you take this survey. You may have got an e-mail about it, and if you did, please ignore this. But if you didn't it would be great if you would take this survey too, so we can learn to improve the translation experience.
Again, thanks for your help with translations – you're awesome! Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 13:30, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
editDear translator, with this barnstar the Community Liaisons would like to express their gratitude for your outstanding contributions to the recent 2nd VisualEditor Translathon. The initiative was really successful and we hope you enjoyed participating as much as we enjoyed organizing it! If you're looking for a new opportunity to translate VE-related content, please join translators working on the August's issue of the VisualEditor multilingual newsletter, which will be widely delivered at the end of this workweek. Among other things, this month it features the names of the top contributors for the Translathon ;) Again, thanks a lot for your help! —Elitre (WMF) and Trizek (WMF), 15:44, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
- PS: Here are some instructions. Please go to the translation page: your language should be available from the drop-down menu on the right. Once you've selected it, you'll see the document in English side by side with any translation work already done in your language. You can add new translations or modify existing ones.
- PPS: We are maintaining a list of editors who have worked on VE-related content (such as newsletters). We only use it to notify them of translation opportunities, to make sure they don't miss Translathons, etc. If you would like messages like this one to be delivered on your talk page at a different WMF project, need any help with translations related to VisualEditor or would like to remove your name from that list, please contact Elitre directly.

Request for input on Wikipedia video project
editHello, I have completed an outline of the material that may be covered in the modules on this page.
Please note that not everyone will view every section. For example, some people may want to view only the modules that apply to Wikipedia, and others may be interested in the modules that apply to Commons.
Also, different language Wikipedias sometimes work differently. I am referring to English Wikipedia in the outline. One of the goals of the video series is to make the videos in a way that is easy to translate to other languages. One possible option is that for references to English Wikipedia which have no similarities on a Wikipedia of a different language, the portion of the video that is unnecessary can be removed from the translated version of the video. Also, members of different language communities may produce additional materials which they may add to the videos for their language, or the community members may replace portions of the English-language video with different information that is more applicable to Wikipedia in a different language.
I would appreciate your comments on the grant talk page, preferably by 11 January. Thank you! --Pine✉ 09:24, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

2016 Community Wishlist Survey
editHi,
You’re getting this message because you participated in the 2015 Community Wishlist Survey and we want to make sure you don't miss it this year – or at least can make the conscious choice to ignore if it you want to. The 2015 survey decided what the Community Tech team should work on during 2016. It was also the focus of Wikimedia hackathons and work by other developers. You can see the status of wishes from the 2015 wishlist at 2015 Community Wishlist Survey/Results.
The 2016 Community Wishlist Survey is now open for wishes. You can create proposals until November 20. You will be able to vote on which wishes you think are best or most important between November 28 and December 12. /Johan (WMF) (talk) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:17, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Update regarding Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons tutorial videos
editHello,
I regret to inform you that the series of motivational and educational videos project, which had been planned introduce Wikipedia and some of its sister projects to new contributors, is being discontinued.
There are multiple factors that have led to this decision. The initial budget and time estimates were far too small for a project of this scale and complexity. Also, my simultaneous involvement in Cascadia Wikimedians User Group was problematic due to the shortage of human resources for the user group, which resulted in my spending far more time trying to help the user group than I had planned, so my time and attention were diverted from this video project to assisting the user group.
You can find more information in the final report for the grant.
I regret that this project did not fulfill the hopes that many of us had for it, and I hope that in the future someone with the necessary resources will choose to resume work on it or a similar project. If you are interested in working on this or a similar project then please contact the WMF grants team.
On a personal note, I am retiring from the Wikimedia community. Perhaps I will return someday.
Regards,
--Pine✉ 23:20, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

The Community Wishlist Survey
editHi,
You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.
You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Does your blanking it mean deleting it, please?--Jusjih (talk) 04:00, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
- Jusjih Not really, but it is ok if deleted. I am not using it now on this wiki though.--Jnanaranjan sahu (talk) 05:28, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

editCommunity Wishlist Survey 2020 needs translations
editHello!
I'm contacting you because you've already translated some messages for the Community Wishlist Survey. We need more translations for the 2020 edition, to create a survey that would serve as many users as we know.
The list below shows our needs by order of importance (most important first):
- The invitation sent to communities. It summarizes the process. We plan to distribute it soon on this year target wikis. The more translations we have, the better!
- The form for non-English speakers. Anyone should be able to add their wish, no matter which language they speak. Translating this short form is very important to encourage diversity and equity.
- The survey itself, where the entire process is described.
- The preload form, that provides more context on existing wishes.
Some languages are already covered (maybe by you), but some messages have been updated, and there is always some room for reviewing and polishing messages.
Thank you in advance for your help! This survey can't be successful without your assistance. :)

TwitterToCommons enhancement
editHello,
I am really pleased to see the tool twitterToCommons. I am using it and must say it is helpful. I would like to ask for a feature that i think will be very helpful. It would be nice to be able to filter the tweets based on date (or other criteria). If that is not possible or easy to do , an ability to paste a direct tweet URL in the tool would be great help.
Thanks Psanu (talk) 03:56, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Psanu Glad to know that you are using this tool. I will create a feature where you can directly paste a link of the tweet and upload. I think that will be helpful for others who want to upload from a single tweeet. Though it is not mandatory but would you like to create a ticket on phabiricator tagging Twitter-to-Commons and assigning me(Jnanaranjan sahu).--Jnanaranjan sahu (talk) 04:48, 21 November 2019 (UTC)
- As per your request I have added the feature. You can upload from a specific tweet link to commons. Let me know your comments. --Jnanaranjan sahu (talk) 04:48, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you , I have created a tickeet. Will use the feature . I think it will be helpful.
- As per your request I have added the feature. You can upload from a specific tweet link to commons. Let me know your comments. --Jnanaranjan sahu (talk) 04:48, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

Twitter to commons tool unavailable
editHi @Jnanaranjan sahu: ,
The twitter to commons tool seems to be not available. The link gives a http 404 error. Is there some issue with the tool? I raised a ticket on phabricator T265811 regarding this.

We need your feedback on a tool from the Wikimedia Summit
editHi! I'm contacting you as one of the participants in the Wikimedia Summit 2022, to kindly ask for your feedback through a 5-10 minute survey to evaluate 'Baserow' (note: the survey is on a Google form).
Baserow was a tool through which participants in the Summit co-created a database of Movement Strategy activities. We hope to learn from you how useful it may be to keep using it in the future to help document and connect on Movement Strategy work.
You are welcome and encouraged to fill out the survey in any language. Your feedback would be very appreciated --Abbad (WMF) (talk) 14:23, 16 February 2023 (UTC).
