A multilingual edit-a-thon is being conducted to add or improve articles related to Punjab in view of the WikiConference India 2016 to be held in Chandigarh in the first week of August.

Rules
edit- Find list of articles related to Punjab with a preference to Chandigarh in the local language Wikipedia that needs to be added or improved.
- Find images in Commons that can be added to the new/existing articles related to Punjab.
- create or expand articles related to Punjab. The created or added content must not be stubs, should not contain copyvio and follow Wikipedia's general and local policies and guidelines.
- Add appropriate images found.

Role of co-ordinators
editThese are the areas a co-ordinator can work on:
- create a page for the event in local language. The event page should contain a space for contributors to sign-up (see examples above)
- display Sitenotice or announce in the village pump about the edit-a-thon
- co-ordinating with participants and answer their questions
- keep in touch with other co-ordinators (there is a Facebook chat group that you can join)
Award
editCommunity that adds the most number of words or bytes during this edit-a-thon will be awarded a trophy during WikiConference India 2016.
Notes
editThis project is a brainchild of a group activity done during the Train The Trainer 2016 program in Bangalore on 15-17 June 2016. The group included the co-ordinators. We welcome other Wikipedians to join hands and conduct this event in other languages as well.
