Request for approval of Gungbe WikinewsEdit

I think Wn/guw might be ready for approval. The project interests our community and we have moved a step further to add audio Wikinews (daily) to some of the news articles. With an average of 7 news articles per day for several months and a very active readers and contributors base, we find this project succeeding exceedingly once it leaves the incubator. Kindly look into it for approval. Thanks.-- Samatics (talk) 07:23, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's being looked into. --MF-W 20:02, 21 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Approval for Mandailing WiktionaryEdit

Hi, the Wiktionary Mandailing community has been working hard for the past several months to add hundreds of entries. Now they're asking for their project to be launched. Please take a look and I hope the committee will approve it. They already have more than 1.000 entries now, and still increasing due to new contributors joining. Hello. Before the project can be approved, the translation of the most-used MediaWiki messages needs to be completed. --MF-W 14:21, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
hello, the MediaWiki message, which is mostly used in the Mandailing language, has been translated

Rejection for Shanghainese WikipediaEdit

Hello, Language Committee. Shanghainese has been included in Wu Chinese so Shanghainese Wikipedia should simply be rejected since Wu Chinese Wikipedia exists now. John Smith Ri (talk) 14:12, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Shanghainese has been marked as rejected. --MF-W 14:22, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Rejection for Northern Tujia WikipediaEdit

Hello, Language Committee. Northern Tujia Wikipedia is too inactive and those who could read and write Northern Tujia can easily read and write Chinese, so Northern Tujia Wikipedia is recommended to be rejected. Details are in Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Northern Tujia#Discussion. John Smith Ri (talk) 08:33, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Inactivity in itself is not a reason to reject a request, nor is speakers' fluency in other languages. Jon Harald Søby (talk) 14:16, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello, I am trying to submit a new language request at Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Portuguese (Portugal) but it wont let me because "only established registered users can edit it"Edit

do i have wait 5 days??? Wkperson10 (talk) 20:50, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You have meanwhile succeeded in creating the page, but I've gone ahead and deleted it again. There have already been 3 rejected requests, the last one being Requests for new languages/Wikipedia European Portuguese 3. Creating a new one with a one-line argument won't change the situation. --MF-W 20:36, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
