I'm still in the process of putting together the details, but I wanted to share the date with you: 10 July, 2021. I do not have a time on this date yet, but I will let you soon. About Wikinews Japanese version
editOne user's edits were redacted on Wikinews, but it is clear that it is an LTA and further edits are pointless. We have already reported the user who is destroying the site. 稲垣啓二 (talk) 12:37, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- 稲垣啓二, I asked for a global block because the user was blocked on the site and started contacting users on another site... Do you think it's worth asking for a report from the Check users? Neriah - 💬 - 12:54, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- The user in question has been vandalizing jawp and other language versions for a long time and should be reported.... 稲垣啓二 (talk) 13:04, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- @稲垣啓二 You know him better than I do. Can you report? Neriah - 💬 - 13:11, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Neriah:I have absolutely no experience in reporting and don't even know where to find that page, so could you please tell me? 稲垣啓二 (talk) 13:15, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- @稲垣啓二 It is on the page: Steward requests/Checkuser. Neriah - 💬 - 13:26, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Neriah:Is that what you meant when you said you would ask the check user for a report? If so, in my opinion, I don't think a report is necessary. I did not understand it well enough. My apologies. 稲垣啓二 (talk) 13:32, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
- Ok. Neriah - 💬 - 13:33, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

Global-renamer
editHello, I've just promoted you to global renamer. You can add yourself to the mailing list, etc, and add yourself to the Global renamers list. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Congratulations!--BRP ever 15:20, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

Your renames
editHi Neriah, I'm sorry to write this, but I already talked with you privately, asking to be careful when processing a rename from a language that you don't know or a project in which you don't know policy (and linked one your rename into an inappropriate username). I, unfortunately, saw that you are continuing to speedy processing a large amount of renames in any language and from any projects! For example I just noticed this that, imho, needed to be looked by a local renamer. The target username means "User0001" - if my translator isn't wrong - and this could create confusion, in particular when this user need to be recognized! Also, local policy of that project, says that the username which can create confusion are inappropriate. So, I'm asking you again, please stop processing renames when they comes from projects that you don't know or from language that you don't speak. Remember that global policy says "Global renamers should focus on requests from their home wiki, with the potential to expand to requests from other projects as they gain experience with global renaming". Thanks for your understanding! Superpes15 (talk) 14:56, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't see a reference to this in their naming policy (I knew that was what the name meant, so I looked for a reference to that name and didn't think there was a problem with that section), so I approved the name change. I will stop processing requests that I am not 100 percent sure is right/wrong.
- Thank you for your inquiry and the great help! Neriah - 💬 - 18:09, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, I see you rejected this request and giving feedback in English but this request not made in English. It is important to understand that not all users may be fluent in English and may struggle to communicate their requests effectively. Moreover, language barriers can also lead to misunderstandings and miscommunication, which can be frustrating for both the user and the renamer. I saw that also Superpes15 contacted you for the same reason (processing a rename from a language that you don't know) twice. Please be careful about it. —MdsShakil (talk) 14:08, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

query
editWelcome, How do you grab that name and it has 17 edits on the Arabic Wikipedia? This change is against our global username change policy!Ajwaan (talk) 22:07, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ajwaan Hi. I looked at the stolen user's talk page and didn't see that there was a complaint about an unacceptable username, so I assumed the username was OK (and I also put the name in a translation machine and it didn't seem like there was a problem. Now I put it again and I see that there was a glitch in the previous one and it was "Jihad"). What can I do? Contact the user? Really really sorry, I really didn't think there was a problem. Neriah - 💬 - 22:15, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- The user has 17 edits, all of which are in the scope of the articles in the encyclopedia and it is against the policies to extract a name. I'd like to point out that the applicant has already applied to take a name on the Arabic Wikipedia, has been rejected
Please read this page.
How can you correct the name change? Can you return the name as before?Ajwaan (talk) 22:51, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ajwaan At first I thought the problem was that the username did not comply with the policy, and I was very worried. Since the user hasn't edited anything in a few years, I think in the meantime I'll send him an email, and if he says he wants the name back, we'll get things back to normal.
- By the way, where is there a policy that prohibits running over in such a case? In principle, "usurps" are possible on accounts that seem abandoned, after a month without a response to the message... Neriah - 💬 - 10:17, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
- Based on Requests involving merges, usurps or other complications: "Per standard procedure, accounts with valid edits are not usurped, and the target account must be notified by renamer at least one month before usurpation"; User:جهاد (usurped) have 17 valid edits. Also, you can found here (Some best practices when usurping; although it is not an official policy). I'd like to ping Superpes15 and MdsShakil (Most active global renamers on SRUC) for their opinion. Thanks on advance --Alaa :)..! 21:48, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- From now on, I'll stick to Requests for comment/Usurpation policy (although I think these rules are too strict). A user who made individual edits (less than 5), close to the creation of the account, and since then has not edited, can be stolen or prohibited? I'm currently reverting bad actions I've done (on Steward requests/Username changes, and I'll soon review the usurps I've done in the past and send an email to everyone. Thank you for referring your heart's attention. Neriah - 💬 - 22:15, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- @علاء Thanks for the ping. Target users have valid edits on NS-0, and they have created a page on NS-0. Requesters claim that most edits are self-promotional, which is not true as per Ajwaan's statement above. Most likely, they are trying to misguide Renamer. So I think I already have reasons to decline this request. —MdsShakil (talk) 14:36, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- I quote as above, I also explained this via private chat two months ago, but maybe I was unclear. Users with valid edits cannot be usurped. Btw The requests are to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis :) Superpes15 (talk) 18:23, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

Usurps question
editIs something currently ongoing with usurps? It seems a week has passed with no requests being read but global renamers are still responding to simple rename requests. Dawnbails (talk) 22:05, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
- These requests are more complicated, so there is less desire to handle them. Don't forget that all global renamers are volunteers, so you can't demand anything from them.
- I am currently in a somewhat busy period, but I have now taken care of some of the requests that were there.
- Thanks for reminding me, and sorry for the long wait. Neriah - 💬 - 12:47, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- No problem— my bad if I came off as demanding. Dawnbails (talk) 14:48, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

Ticket
editHi, could you please unlock this ticket? I was talking with the user in the other queue, also you replied in English while I can talk in Italian! Thanks :) Superpes15 (talk) 12:02, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- I think it is now released, can you check. good day! Neriah - 💬 - 12:27, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Superpes15, could you please unlock this ticket, or alternatively send that the request is done? I processed the request because they wrote that the account was verified, and I saw that for some reason you locked the ticket without sending them that the request was done... Neriah - 💬 - 22:20, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Neriah, if a ticket is locked, please ask the user who locked it before proceeding (because it means that the user is processing it or is something that need more attention)! Thanks :) Superpes15 (talk) 23:32, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Your feedback is requested
editHello Neriah, We are conducting a poll of global renamers and stewards regarding some future toolings related to some rename requests. Your feedback is requested at the poll on VRT WIKI. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 00:18, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi, can you re-add the signature bit? I am having some difficulty trying to put it while making sure it does not conflict with the main Hebrew text. Thanks in advance. Also are you sure the Hebrew text for "metawiki" can be used? Arabic does it the normal way using "metawiki" as the prefix: Global reminder bot/arwiki. Leaderboard (talk) 20:30, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the effort! I fixed the issues and added sysop permissions. Is everything good now? Thanks again, Neriah - 💬 - 20:40, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Neriah, under the
date_format
parameter, it says "בMMMM"- is the Hebrew character "ב" expected? Also, the months will be spelled out in English - is that expected (if you need it in Hebrew, you need to add adate_locale
parameter as explained in Global reminder bot/Proposal). Examples of this are Global reminder bot/frwiki and arwiki. Leaderboard (talk) 20:57, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
