Welcome to Meta!Edit

Hello Naveenpf, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). If you would like, feel free to ask me questions on my talk page. Happy editing! Ottava Rima (talk) 04:22, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Collaborations of the month/Edit

Mind if I delete the redirect? Kylu 14:23, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

No Problem :) --Naveenpf 14:25, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Done. Also, while it's a great idea, I was thinking you could possibly expand the scope some if you wanted... have the "collaborations of the month" be a wiki-neutral version (since it's on Meta) and make a Collaborations of the month/Indian that gets transcluded onto it. Then, folks from other projects can join in and do the same, and you get the fuzzy warm feeling of being someone who started an influential cross-wiki project. :)
Just thoughts. Kylu 14:31, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Sure ... Waiting for how Indian wikipedia's will take this :P --Naveenpf 14:42, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
So, when you're saying "Indian", do you mean primarily "Hindi language Wikipedia" or "Wikipedias using Indian Subcontinent Languages" as a form of regional language solidarity, or something else? Kylu 14:49, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Nothing like solidarity and all . I just started with Indian articles. If it successful for one month Wikimedia should have Collaborations of the month page. Please feel free to add any languages Collaborations of the month/India/October 2010 :) --Naveenpf 15:13, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi Kylu, I have moved the page to Collaborations of the month/India and changed the summary to all languages. :) --Naveenpf 15:19, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
I really hope your project gets going and brings some excitement back into the wikis! Let me know if there's something I can do to help. Kylu 19:40, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

RE:Edit

The page is about the conference not project initiatives, lets keep that to a minimum. AroundTheGlobe 05:55, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Please use this page as a base on how our meta page should look. AroundTheGlobe 05:57, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
That may be something to keep in mind during programing, not for the meta page - which is for the conference rather than advertising project initiatives. AroundTheGlobe 05:59, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
We dont need to copy paste. As you said they are established, since there is no India precedent we are using Wikimania as a precedent. AroundTheGlobe 06:00, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I have encouraged you on that. As we are short staffed, I personally have not been able to give you a hand on that. On the meta page though, lets not mention projects too much and focus on the conference. AroundTheGlobe 06:04, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Just a link is fine, as I said lets keep that to the minimum and focus on the conference - I am writing up a note on the community and will do the city/venue part.If I give you details on Accommodation/Travel/Getting Around can you please do that part? If you have the details already, please go ahead. If you want to do the city part as well, please do so - I chose the venue and community as you may not have the info on that. AroundTheGlobe 06:16, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Naveen, just to set the record straight, Im not against having the project info, just request it to be kept to minimum as the page is about the conference. I did not mean we should remove the stats - those gave an insight as to the progress of Wikipedia and its indic versions in India. Hope its clear now. AroundTheGlobe 07:35, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Inspire Campaign on content curation & reviewEdit

I've recently launched an Inspire Campaign to encourage new ideas focusing on content review and curation in Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia volunteers collaboratively manage vast repositories of knowledge, and we’re looking for your ideas about how to manage that knowledge to make it more meaningful and accessible. We invite you to participate and submit ideas, so please get involved today! The campaign runs until March 28th.

All proposals are welcome - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is welcome - your skills and experience can help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign to improve review and curation tasks so that we can make our content more meaningful and accessible! I JethroBT (WMF) 05:39, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Participate in the Inspire Campaign and help address harassment!Edit

Through June, we’re organizing an Inspire Campaign to encourage and support new ideas focusing on addressing harassment toward Wikimedia contributors. The 2015 Harassment Survey has shown evidence that harassment in various forms - name calling, threats, discrimination, stalking, and impersonation, among others - is pervasive. Available methods and systems to deal with harassment are also considered to be ineffective. These behaviors are clearly harmful, and in addition, many individuals who experience or witness harassment participate less in Wikimedia projects or stop contributing entirely.

Proposals in any language are welcome during the campaign - research projects, technical solutions, community organizing and outreach initiatives, or something completely new! Funding is available from the Wikimedia Foundation for projects that need financial support. Constructive feedback on ideas is appreciated, and collaboration is encouraged - your skills and experience may help bring someone else’s project to life. Join us at the Inspire Campaign so that we can work together to develop ideas around this important and difficult issue. With thanks,

The Community Wishlist SurveyEdit

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:25, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
