Wikidata primary sources tool: call for support
editDear @Mlemusrojas:
You are listed as a WikiCite 2016 attendee: it was nice to meet you in Berlin, I really enjoyed the event.
Remember work group 4, StrepHit and the Wikidata primary sources tool? I just wanted to let you know that the StrepHit team is requesting a renewal to give the tool a boost.
Do you think the tool needs an uplift? If so, please consider an endorsement of the StrepHit IEG renewal through the following link:
m:Grants:IEG/StrepHit:_Wikidata_Statements_Validation_via_References/Renewal#Endorsements
Feel also free to comment the work plan in the renewal talk page: your thoughts are precious.
Thanks a lot for your time, looking forward to your feedback.
Cheers,
Interviewing you about Structured Data on Commons
editHi Mlemusrojas,
Firstly, I should introduce myself. I'm Jonathan Curiel with the Wikimedia Foundation, and I'm helping to work on WMF's Structured Data on Commons project. At Wikimania in Montreal, I'm interviewing Commons users about the project, and I'd like to interview you. I'd ask about implementing structured data into Commons, interacting with structured data, how best to involve the community, and other questions. Would you have 30 minutes at Wikimania? I'd try and accommodate any time you have available there.
Thanks so very much for your consideration. Appreciate any time you have. And I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
All my best,
Jonathan JCuriel (WMF) (talk) 15:33, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
Wikipedia Library User Group is being renamed!
editHello! In the past few months, the Wikipedia Library User Group has been undergoing some major planning and developments. We just finished our very first open call with the user group members, which was a great success (see the meeting minutes). If you joined us during the meeting, we’d like to thank you for your interest. If not, not to worry, we have lots of things planned for the user group in which you can participate.
This message is to inform you that based on the input received from the user group members and the founding members, it was agreed that the Wikipedia Library User Group’s name be reconsidered by a voting process. As a valued member of the user group, we’d like to invite you to vote on the list of potential names. You can vote by following this link. The poll will run for a timeframe of two weeks. Taller Ennegreciendo Wikidata workshop
Un abrazo.--AfricanadeCuba (talk) 10:57, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
Hola Mlemusrojas te encontré a través del usergroup Wikimedians of the Caribbean.
Me pueden escribir a: mlemusro@iupui.edu – Mlemusrojas (talk) 03:15, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

Queering Wikipedia 2023 conference
editWikimedia LGBT+ User Group and the organizing team of Queering Wikipedia is delivering the Queering Wikipedia 2023 Conference for LGBT+ Wikimedians and allies, as a hybrid, bilingual and trans-local event. It is online on 12, 14 and 17 May, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia #IDAHOBIT, with offline events at around 10 locations on 5 continents in the 5-day span as QW2023 Nodes.
The online program is delivered as a series of keynotes, panels, presentations, workshops, lightning talks and creative interventions, starting on Friday noon (UTC) with the first keynote of Dr Nishant Shah entitled: I spy, with my little AI — Wikiway as a means to disrupt the ‘dirty queer’ impulses of emergent AI platforms. Second keynote is at Sunday’s closure by Esra’a Al Shafei, Wikimedia Foundation’s Board of Trustees vice chair, entitled: Digital Public Spaces for Queer Communities.
If you have been an active Wikimedian or enthusiast, supporting LGBT+ activities or if you identify as part of the larger LGBT+ community and allies in Wikimedia, please join us in advancing this thematic work.
