User:Artix Kreiger
editDon't know if you saw what I wrote on his talk page before he deleted it, but Artix Kreiger retired because he's just been CU-confirmed on en-wiki as a sock of en:User:Winterysteppe. See en:User talk:Artix Kreiger for more info. Thanks, Ansh666 (talk) 06:59, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Ansh666: I did find out the reason – he emailed me after I left the message. I have no words. hiàn 21:33, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

editHi Hiàn, I've added autopatrolled to your account, you should be able to nominate base user pages for speedy now. Thank you for you assistance. — xaosflux Talk 03:50, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

Please, don’t
editDon’t use the “Willy on Wheels” monicker for the modern Chinese-related vandal. Refer to this discussion to learn what namely “Willy on Wheels” mean. I’m unsure whether is this silly meme a purely linguistic problem or genuinely bad LTA studies by few stewards. But it is sufficient to realize one thing: there is no such active LTA whose conventional name is “Willy on Wheels”. Vandals who are dormant for five years or more and then re-emerge do not exist. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 04:53, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Incnis Mrsi: Alright then. What do I refer to it as? Hiàn // talk 21:12, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
- AFAIK this vandal is nowadays known as “Fuerdai”, although Commons lists him as “IPhones-are-for-d!cks” and s/he was originally associated with iPhones and only secondarily with China. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 08:51, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
The Community Wishlist Survey
editHi,
You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.
You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Questions on wiki administration
editHello Hiàn, I don't know where to ask my questions. I am surprised by the administration of the user accounts on the haitian wikipedia :
By chance, I discovered the new user Itilizatè:Filtre antiabus created on 17-12-2018 directly with the administrator rights. Is it a bot, a Wikimedia decision or vandalism ? We have no information. Thank your for your understanding.
--Gilles2014 (talk) 11:25, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Gilles2014: Hi! From what I can see, the abuse filter was granted administrator rights on all wikis, when it was created. It was created on the Haitian Creole Wikipedia because the AbuseFilter extension wasn't being used already. It is a bot, not a user. Unless the abuse filter at htwiki is configured to block users, the "Filtre antiabus" user won't do anything. The developers are discussing it at Phabricator, where there might be more information. There's no need to worry about it right now. Hiàn (talk) 16:21, 26 December 2018 (UTC)
General guidance for user pages
editBy your intervening at my user talk page it is just making things messy for me, and the complainant, who is apparently unclear about numbers of aspects of WMF wikis. We already have two locations of editing going-on, and now your reverting their edits. :-(
If someone is having an polite conversation on a user talk page, I don't think it is appropriate for a third party to come along and revert it. I am a grown-up now, and so are many others here, and able to manage discussion on our talk pages. If it is not doing damage, generally it should be left for the recipient to manage. [This is not meant to impact on the reversion of spam, or clear vandalism] — billinghurst sDrewth 00:29, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note Billinghurst, I'll keep that in mind. Hiàn (talk) 00:32, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Hi
editCan you please unblock our IP range on Wikipedia? Thanks. 172.56.30.192 17:52, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not an admin at the English Wikipedia so I can't do anything. And if you were here to make a point about my reverts, I'll note that generally you'd be expected to refrain from making threats when putting out an unblock request. I don't know a lot about your situation, but there are most definitely better places to appeal. hiàn/editing on mobile account 18:00, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

Please support the Affiliate-selected Board seats process
editHello. You are receiving this message because you are an esteemed Wikimedian translator. The movement needs you! The Nominations phase for the ongoing selection process of two Board members is almost over, so this is probably the last call for translations.
The profiles of the current candidates are the ones that need your attention now. Yes, this may be a slightly different topic than the ones you are used to work on, but this is the final stretch and this process needs all the help it can get.
While there are four languages that are especially relevant for multiple affiliates, Arabic, French, Russian, and Spanish, help for Chinese, Ukrainian, Bengali, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Polish, Farsi, German, Cantonese, Finnish, Hindi, Thai, Dutch, and Greek is also welcome. If you can't help: please see if you know anyone in your circle who could, and spread the word.
Thank you! Elitre (WMF) and Facilitators of ASBS 2019, 09:46, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
User script to access other watchlists
editHi Hiàn,
If you remember, you participated in the 2019 Community Wishlist Survey, including the discussion for reviving "Crosswatch" to allow for cross-wiki watchlists (Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Watchlists/Revive Crosswatch tool).
I sent you this MassMessage because I wanted to let you know that I have made a user script to make accessing your watchlists on different wikis easier, since for now that wishlist item has not been actioned.
The way it works is that, on any wiki, when you look at your watchlist, there is a button labeled "CA" that takes you to the CentralAuth page for you. There, when looking at your own information, each link to a wiki ("meta.wikimedia.org", "www.wikidata.org", "de.wikipedia.org", etc.) is changed so that it links to your watchlist on that wiki.
If you are interested in using it, just add mw.loader.load('//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');
to your global javascript page. This imports the code at m:User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js.
If you want to learn more, there is documentation for the script available at w:en:User:DannyS712/Watchlist. If you would like to discuss the script, talk to me at m:User talk:DannyS712.

Ask a question
editA friend of mine used to be blocked by an administrator's error and now he is on the blacklist of cvn. How can I remove him from the blacklist? I have a voice on cvn-sw . --Catherine Laurence 12:34, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hi there Catherine Laurence. The syntax is pretty simple (you can find the full documentation here). Essentially what you have to do is:
CVNBotnumber bl del username
to remove from the blacklist and...CVNBotnumber wl add username x=time r=reason
to add to the whitelist (use x=0 to put the user on indefinitely)
- Let me know if you have any questions. Hiàn (talk)/editing on mobile account. 12:38, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
Grateful! Helped me a lot. --Catherine Laurence 07:44, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Watchlist Expiry project page
editHello,
During the Community Whishlist survey 2019, you have voted for the Watchlist item Expiration wish.
Community Tech has created the Watchlist Expiry project page to work on this feature, and is looking for your feedback about the open questions they have.
Regards, IFried_(WMF), 15:51, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your help
editHi there, translator! Here's a little token of appreciation for a recent effort you contributed to. Surprised? Well, the best is yet to come.
- We'd love to send you this badge as an actual sticker. If you want, you can use this Google Form to communicate your address so we can ship it to you. Note that we will close the form on October 13, 2019, and all data will be removed shortly afterwards. Details about this external site are provided at the top of the form.
- We also have this badge waiting for you on Wikimedia Space. You can use the form linked above to let us know what your username is on this brand new hub, so that you can get the award there as well. If you don't have an account yet, just go ahead and enjoy joining via Wikimedia login in just a few clicks. (And in case you hadn't heard yet, you can join the community of translators there as well).
Again, thanks for everything you are doing to make this movement a better (and multilingual!) place: please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions, and I hope to hear from you soon. --Elitre (WMF), 13:03, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
