SE2022 questions edit

Hello @ZI Jony, thank you for participating in SE2022 by asking questions. I would like to inform you that the Election Committee maintains a limit of 2 questions per asker (see election guidelines for details). It appears that you asked the candidates three questions in total. For that reason, I'd like to ask you to drop one of the three questions you posted. If you have any questions about the election policies, please feel free to let me know. On behalf of the Election Committee, Martin Urbanec (talk) 15:14, 15 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Martin Urbanec Sorry, I've missed that. Shall I remove one question or have to cut the text by <s>? Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 15:40, 15 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the quick reply. Since no one answered the question you hid yet, fully removing it (or commenting out, as you did) is perfectly fine. Martin Urbanec (talk) 16:24, 15 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

ধন্যবাদ --MdsShakil (talk) 17:31, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mass messages sent to wrong page edit

Wikibooks:sv:User:MediaWiki message delivery delivered your messages to the wrong page, in Wikibooks:sv:Special:Diff/51293/51327. As discussed at the project, we cannot afford mass messages flooding our village pump: activity is low and the project-specific discussion will be drowned. The messages are not particularly useful either, as most contributors read them at projects where they are more active.

We have created a separate page for these messages, as can be seen at Distribution list/Global message delivery. Is there some other page where this preference should be stated?

Now that I read the diff, I see that you point to a private list of village pumps: User:ZI_Jony/MassMessage/Awareness of Education Newsletter/List of Village Pumps (with no documentation on its function). Why aren't you using the above list? Isn't there enough instructions given for those who want to use the mass delivery function?

(It would also be useful to have your contact information as a normal signature, not in a small-print footer. The "for more information" link was broken: "spatnaikMall:@wikimedia.org". Why an e-mail address instead of a Wikimedia user page? User:SPatnaik (WMF)?)

LPfi (talk) 14:35, 25 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Honestly, I had checked village pump list on subpage of Global message delivery. Actually I was forget about the list you provided! Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 08:38, 26 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
OK, that's fine. I'd hope the mass messenger should make it easy to use the right lists. –LPfi (talk) 18:02, 30 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Notes about preparing a page for translation edit

Hello ZI Jony,

On this month Education newsletter, I have spent some time to improve internationalization of the pages, but you have reverted most of my work through “clean up”s. So we don’t work in opposite directions, I would like to point you some recommendation for preparing a page for translation:

  • Headings should be separated units, so they should be followed by an empty new line.
  • Tvar names must be unique inside each unit, but we can reuse the name several times in the same page, as soon as they are in different units.
  • Big units should be split into smaller ones; so for big lists we should isolate each item inside its own translation unit.

Note these are not technicals requirements, but these allows to make translation more comfortable.

Regards, -- Pols12 (talk) 22:29, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, ZI Jony, Thank you so much circulating Newsletter for Wiki for Education. As a retiree myself, a report from Nigeria hit my heart in the August 2022 issue, wow. Now, as I am new to the publication workflow for newsletters, I wish to consult with you. Would you mind and see if we can drop {{tl:Draft}} from the a report on Senior citizens joining Wikidata editathon anyway? I only made small adjustments that images/captions looks smarter. I have informed the reporter/facilitator of that important event already. Hello @ZI Jony

Are there any special requirements for being a translation admin on Meta?

I am not requesting here, just asking for information.

There are useful messages that need to be translated in different languages.

Also, I found out you could do this on translatewiki.net by not even being admin, just signing up.

But there are some protected messages that need to be translated on Meta

Thanks..
