Hi Rjd0060. I noticed that you updated OTRS, but I miss info-nl and the associated queue wikiportret on OTRS#Info. Regards, Trijnsteltalk 14:39, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure how I left that out - when I was cleaning up the page I updated to include the up-to-date list of info queues, but somehow dropped that one. Thanks! Rjd0060 (talk) 02:35, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

OTRS request edit

Hi!
After waiting for more than two weeks my request for volunteering at OTRS was removed with no reply, note, warning or anything? How does this work? Do i have to keep guessing on whats going on? Dharmadhyaksha (talk) 13:15, 25 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ohhhh!!!! My first guess did not work. (Was expecting some kinda note on talk page.) But second one did. I have received some email from OTRS volunteers recruitment. Gosh! Please write something in the edit summary next time. Dharmadhyaksha (talk) 13:23, 25 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Applications are intentionally processed this way and have been for years (and years). The reason being: OTRS agents do not need to disclose their positions on OTRS to the general community. Sorry for the inconvenience. Rjd0060 (talk) 16:45, 25 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oh i get it now. Thanks! Dharmadhyaksha (talk) 03:38, 26 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your rollback of my comments states not to vote (I didn't) but to offer comments (I did) - clarify please --Herby talk thyme 11:57, 10 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

When I've worked with someone as long as I have worked with 99of9 I can only "endorse" - you do not keep diff for hard working helpful people. From my point of view this is a good way to keep me anyway away from that page - maybe think about the impact you have. --Herby talk thyme 15:11, 10 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
And for rather longer than that I have been "commenting" on that page - at least I realise that it is pointless to offer views on people I've worked with for years now. No idea how you can come up with diffs for something like that - very en wp sadly. --Herby talk thyme 15:14, 10 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your global CSS/JS migration edit

Hello Rjd0060. You asked that the global CSS/JS migration script delete your local *.js and *.css pages. The script can't handle your request, so it was referred to synchbot. Could you take a look at synchbot#Rjd0060 and confirm whether you want to continue with the request? —Pathoschild 02:35, 09 September 2014 (UTC)

Done. You can see the log of affected pages on your archive page. :) —Pathoschild 15:06, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

Re RFC: can you set up a template for the front page edit

If you have the time, would you be able to prepare the relevant derivative Template:Announce for your RFC, and I will look to stick it on the main page. From whenever we get it there, we can add +30 days, and set a close date. If you can paste it on the RFC itself inside a <nowiki>, and encourage others to add a translation. I will add it as soon as you have it, and we can update the announcement as we have a new translation. Thanks if you can do that.  — billinghurst sDrewth 01:55, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi billinghurst. Sorry - When I first read this I was not quite sure what was needed. I think you may have already handled it? Rjd0060 (talk) 04:13, 2 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Nope, still pending. I wish to put an announcement about the RFC to Main Page and to do that I need the text wrapped inside that template to which I pointed. I think that we can build it on the RFC page. My evolving thinking is that if we build it as a subpage to the RFC, then we can transclude the announcement straight to the main page, and any other page we so choose.  — billinghurst sDrewth 05:21, 2 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Inactive volunteer edit

Hello, Ryan,
there are User:LEMeZza and User:Lvova in OTRS/Personnel list. As far as I know, they are no longer active in OTRS, aren't they? Why are they still in the list? Thanks. 37.144.129.243 22:55, 18 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi accountless user. As noted at the top of the OTRS/Personnel page you link to, "This might not be a complete or up-to-date list. Some queues are not listed and some agents have not listed themselves on this page. For a complete list of OTRS accounts, see OTRS/Users". This is why you may see some former agents listed. The most up-to-date list is available at OTRS/Users. That page also has a caveat, however. It is updated by an OTRS administrator 1-2 times per month. No longer administrator edit

Hello. I am an OTRS volunteer. When I first applied, I was also an administrator in el.wikinews (temporary access). Now my access is expired and I don't want to do the same procedure again and again to have the access back. So I am no longer an administrator. I know that is not necessary to be an administrator to apply for OTRS member but is preferred. So, I am asking you if it is a problem not to be administrator in a Wikimedia Foundation projects no more. May I have to ask that question in a specific page? I want to continue to be an OTRS member but I thought that I have to say that I am not no longer an administrator in el.wikinews. Thanks. Xaris333 (talk) 19:10, 8 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Invitation received and accepted edit

Hi there. Got your invite to become an OTRS volunteer on my Commons talk page (here) and have accepted it on behalf of my other Commons (and English Wikipedia) login, KDS4444. Thank you for the invite! Hope to be able to assist with the queues in the near future. I'd thought about applying before, but then that felt presumptuous and I deferred. Being asked by you specifically is what changed my mind about it. Again, thanks! KDS444 (talk) 04:56, 2 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Margaret Sanger (July 2015) edit

I did some research, and I was curious as to why you left some pretty serious quotes out of the Margaret Sanger research and biography. I’ve been a user of Wikipedia for years, and always respected the fact that Wikipedia wanted to give an unbiased representation of the topics it covered. I understand, that though Wikipedia articles (as said above) don’t give an exhaustive account, I always thought Wikipedia still strove to give a truthful account. Its understandable that the name alone is a politically loaded one. The article, told just enough information yet seemed to be really avoiding putting Sanger in any kind of negative light. I'm not saying it should have, I just had the expectation that it would have been truthful and unbiased. I guess I’m just wondering how Wikipedia goes through a vast amount of information and research sorted through (very efficiently and effectively), and yet somehow conveniently avoids these quotes straight from her work. I‘ve learned to be careful not to just believe what I read, even if the author has good intentions for leaving things out. The saying – ‘The road to hell is paved with good intentions’ does in fact reflect on every political party, era, system, and humanity in general. Bottom line – there’s not a single unadulterated scholar and that can look at these quotes, read and acknowledge the writer and say what she wrote wasn’t sinister, disturbing, ulterior, and profound. I can only imagine that if these words came out of the mouth or found in the writings of a political figure today, they would be toast. And if her quotes were ethically sound, why were the blatantly racist and discriminatory ones left out of this article? http://blackquillandink.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/margaret-sanger-quotes.pdf

Hello, Fghtrsfr. I (respectfully) have absolutely no idea what you're referring to. If it relates to a Wikipedia page you should contact the relevant person on Wikipedia. Rjd0060 (talk) 01:33, 14 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm a patroller at the turkish wikipedia. I myself had trouble uploading my own work at the beginning, now I'm trying to help others who still do. However there's a general understanding that OTRS process is way too slow on Turkish wikipedia. I'm not sure if there's a queue for Turkish but I'd like to volunteer, would appreciate if you comment either way. ThanksHakanIST (talk) 15:25, 22 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello HakanIST. There is an info-tr queue for the Turkish Wikipedia and it currently has 4 agents working on it. If you feel like you would like to volunteer I encourage you to review OTRS/V and apply if you feel comfortable! Rjd0060 (talk) 02:28, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

OTRS training? edit

Hey, Ryan!

So I have been thinking about something. I've been OTRS volunteering for a month or so now, and though I've gotten some sticky tickets, I think I have handled all of them correctly (okay, I know of one example where I did not, but I am working on fixing that one right now). Anyhow, as I go through tickets and try to process them, I find myself wishing I had more to draw upon than just my experiences as an editor on Wikipedia and Commons... The tutorial is great for learning how to USE the OTRS system, but it doesn't teach you anything about how to handle certain kinds of tickets. In other words, there doesn't appear to be any kind of training manual for OTRS volunteers, nothing that shows us examples of problems that OTRS volunteers sometimes get into and how to avoid them. The recent email exchange started by André Savik regarding the use of passports as a means of verifying a date of birth is one good example of such a problem (I would totally have done what André did: accept the passport at face value and change the BLP birthdate— having read over most of that exchange, I am now far less certain I would do so). Has there ever been any discussion that you know of regarding the generation of a training manual for OTRS? (Is there such a manual for ANY such user right?). It seems like there might be some substantial benefit to be gotten from having one, though I feel I am much too new at this to be qualified to generate it myself. Thoughts? Ping me. Thanks! Your edits on the forum page edit

I'm not going to revert your edits to that page but there was no reason to uncollapse that discussion group. All you were trying to do was troll that discussion and derail it with meaningless nonsense. You're just upset that I called you out about retaliating at me for complaining about your conduct. Reguyla (talk) 00:16, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Stop complaining and go fight your good fight! Rjd0060 (talk) 01:24, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yeah not much point in complaining when the people in charge are corrupt and there is no oversight. But if it wasn't for you retaliating at me for complaining about your conduct I wouldn't have anything to complain about. Reguyla (talk) 01:29, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Exactly. So stop. Rjd0060 (talk) 01:29, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Or what? You'll retaliate and block me, like you did on IRC, for complaining about your abusive conduct and retaliation? Way to prove me wrong about your problematic, abusive behavior. But it's not like anyone will do anything I am just an editor. You know as well as I do as long as you don't do anything to another admin no one is going to do anything. Reguyla (talk) 01:50, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
I can't block you but if I had that ability I'm sure you're block-worthy for disruption at this point. That's about all I have to say on wiki about your IRC issues. Now complain that I am hiding and/or avoiding the wiki so people do not know how abusive I am. Rjd0060 (talk) 02:01, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Well if I am being disruptive it's only because people like you who aren't here to build and improve these projects and only want to be in charge and tell others what to do through threats and bullying made me that way. If it wasn't for POV pushers and policy violators like you I would still be a dedicated, high output editor on ENWP and I wouldn't be here at all. But admins like you are destroying these projects and the other admins, arbs and the WMF doesn't have the morale courage to do anything except punish the victims. Reguyla (talk) 02:17, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations you turned Kumioko/Reguyla into a vandal and a troll edit

Congratulations. You turned editor Kumioko/Reguyla who was dedicated to improving this project into a vandal and a troll because this community and the WMF would rather support abusive bullies than to have a high output dedicated contributor. Well done. Now he is building a collaboration of vandals and trolls offline to vandalize these projects instead of improve them. I hope you all are happy.Tonya Wakefield (talk) 03:56, 15 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thoughts? edit

I am a new user, and I recently have found some difficulty understanding the copyright requirements for uploading images. However, the original OTRS volunteer who deleted these images hasn't provided resolution to having the images deleted. The OTRS volunteer made several posts on my talk page, and when I followed their direction there still hasn't been a resolution. The volunteer has threatened me with blocking many of my rights based on his/her frustration. Is this considered misconduct? I have only asked the volunteer questions, or made requests, and they quickly responded with name calling and threats of retribution. What can I do? Thank you! --DyanE (talk) 01:59, 12 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

This OTRS volunteer needs to have his conduct reviewed, user:Hedwig in Washington. I tried to notify you to help resolve an issue that this volunteer seems to be escalating, and he deleted all of the evidence on his talk page, (once I tried to bring it to your attention). I am a new user, please help! --DyanE (talk) 03:09, 12 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
