As you probably know, "Pomoč" is "help" in slovensky. mw:Extension:Pomoč:parserFunctions doesn't seem to be the right location. Hillgentleman 03:32, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Because of licensing problem, I placed intentionally extension namespace. "Help" namespace in MediaWiki.org is public domain, but Help namespace in meta is FDL. So I placed in extension namespace.--Kwj2772 (論) 07:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Sure. But the naming is very counter-intuitive, and it would be difficult to locate. Since the /sl subpage is reserved for the technical specification, mw:extension:parserFunctions/Pomoč would be more natural. Hillgentleman 10:42, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- mw:Extension:ParserFunctions/Help/sl Is it more appropriate?--Kwj2772 (論) 12:01, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- That is fine; Or maybe /sl/Help, ie. as a subpage of /sl. Hillgentleman 08:22, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Board elections/Results
editHey Kwj2772, you translated Board elections/2009/Results/ko but there was a small change in the source. The page should now read "The winners are X, X, and X" instead of "The winner is X". Would you mind making that tiny change? Thanks for translating! Cbrown1023 talk 18:01, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Translation reverts
editHey Kwj,
Please don't just revert other people's work unless you're planning on fixing it. Thanks, Cbrown1023 talk 14:55, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- I don't agree. Discouraging people from donating because of bad translation quality is also vandalism. Korean community is suffering cross-wiki bad translations. We are busy. There is not so much time to cope with them. Regards. Kwj2772 (msg) 15:17, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- No translations will be published without being proofread first, so there is nothing to worry about discouraging people from donating. However, just reverting someone's work doesn't help improve it and is very against the "wiki way". If you don't like the translations, would you help find someone to fix them up since you're too busy to do it yourself? Cbrown1023 talk 15:25, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

editThe previous vote for the logo for the Wiktionary resulted in the tiled logo on 2006-11-01T23:10:19. The English version of "the tiled logo" is below, on the right. co, el, et, fa, fr, it, ko, li, lt, ms, nl, oc, scn, simple, sq, sv, tr, uk, vi, wo, yi, and zh still use "the tiled logo". kl will use "the tiled logo". Some users of English Wiktionary disliked "the tiled logo" on 2009-03-26T00:29:40, so they created the new vote.

editHi, thanks for your voice on my temp flag request, I think I've already given my explanation the information you would have liked on my former request for stewardship briefly. But I'd summary it for your convenience: I have a friend and Wikipedian and have usually called her name in real life. She prefers to be addressed with her username on wiki, and I normally took care of that, but forgot once. I apologized her for my mistake, she was okay with that and we are friends, so it's over in my opinion but some people made a drama from it.
So for more detailed one, please give a look to my former request for stewardship. Thanks. --Aphaia 20:36, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

--Betalph 11:09, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Translate some names for hundreds software projects including MediaWiki
editHello, I'm writing you because you subscribed to a Language support team. As you know, Wikimedia projects exist in almost 300 languages; supporting them all is a big effort so we partner with other organisations. One small but visible thing we miss is that many interwiki links in sidebar (among others) don't offer a translation of the language name when hovered. We're now able to translate 100 more language names in your language.
If you're interested, I can create you an account to submit translations on the CLDR web tool (within June 14): please send an email to ask one and I'll follow up with instructions. On CLDR you can translate and tweak many other things, if you desire; your work will impact hundreds of software projects. Thanks, Nemo 17:58, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

editHi! This is an invitation to join translators working on the November's issue of the VisualEditor monthly newsletter, which will be widely delivered later this week. The previous bulletin was published in 10 languages, but the translation was completed only for three of them. Will we do better this month? We'd like to reach many more communities in their own language this time, as we're announcing interesting developments like the new ability to add tables and their elements. Thanks a lot for your help! Elitre (WMF) 21:28, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
PS: Here are some instructions. Please go to the translation page: your language should be available from the drop-down menu on the right. Once you've selected it, you'll see the document in English side by side with any translation work already done in your language. You can add new translations or modify existing ones. If you need further help or would like to receive a talk page message to be notified of future translations, please contact me directly.

editHi! Apologies if you're reading this message more than once. This is an invitation to join translators working on the February's issue of the VisualEditor multilingual newsletter. This time it features an important announcement about a series of meetings where VE tasks on Phabricator will be triaged live and publicly, starting next week. Since we want many people to be aware of this ASAP (especially volunteer developers!), we have a time constraint which means we'll deliver to the wikis on Thursday morning PST this week. Thanks a lot in advance, we know you'll do whatever it takes to keep your community up-to-date, and appreciate it a lot. m:User:Elitre (WMF), 22:08, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Invitation
editHello, Kwj2772,
I am contacting you because you have left feedback about VisualEditor at pages like mw:VisualEditor/Feedback in the past. The Editing team is now asking for your help with VisualEditor. Please tell them what they need to change to make VisualEditor work well for you. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and try to fix these small things, too.
You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. This survey is powered by Qualtrics and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.
More information (including a translatable list of the questions) is posted on wiki at mw:VisualEditor/Survey 2015. If you have questions, or prefer to respond on-wiki, then please leave a message on the survey's talk page.

Global CSS/JS migration
editHello Kwj2772. You have global scripts and styles in User:Kwj2772/global.js
and User:Kwj2772/global.css
, which you import using your local CSS/JS pages. Since August 2014, your global.js
and global.css
pages are loaded automatically on all wikis. Do you want me to remove the global imports from your local pages using Synchbot (without changing any other content)? —Pathoschild 02:25, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Early invitation: join VisualEditor's 2015 Translathon
editHello!
You are invited to join the 2nd edition of the VisualEditor Translathon! It is a translation rally, focused on interface messages and help pages related to VisualEditor.
In order to participate, you need to sign up on the Translathon page. The top 3 contributors will each win a Wikipedia t-shirt of their choice from the Wikipedia store.[1] Translations made between July 15th and July 19th (CDT time zone) qualify.[2]
If you are attending Wikimania Mexico this year, you are also welcome to join a related sprint during the Hackathon in Workplace 1 - Don Américo, Thursday 16 July at 4:00 p.m (CDT) at the conference venue, so you can meet other fellow translators and get support if you need some.
Interface messages have the priority. You will need to create an account at translatewiki.net in order to work on them, if you don't have one. It is recommended to create the account ASAP, so that it can be manually confirmed in time.
You can also help translate documentation pages about VisualEditor on mediawiki.org. You can use your Wikipedia account there. You will find instructions, links and other details on the Translathon page.
Thanks for your attention, and happy translating! Elitre (WMF) 02:59, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Once you've selected it, you'll see the document in English side by side with any translation work already done in your language. You can add new translations or modify existing ones.
- PPS: We are maintaining a list of editors who have worked on VE-related content (such as newsletters). We only use it to notify them of translation opportunities, to make sure they don't miss Translathons, etc. If you would like messages like this one to be delivered on your talk page at a different WMF project, need any help with translations related to VisualEditor or would like to remove your name from that list, please contact me directly.
This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.
As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.
An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.
The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.
Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign
If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.
Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation
