editI think that the filter changes made in late November are now capturing all this spam. If you notice any getting through, please let me know where, and I will see what I can do to further improve the filter. — billinghurst sDrewth 11:53, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
I think that you should apply for membership to this group (as shown at Special:GlobalGroupPermissions) from the stewards, and guessing that it would be through SRGP. Deletion on akwiki
editHi!
You have deleted w:ak:Moroccan cuisine and blocked the user who created it, with the comment "spambot". That was that user's only contribution. A user who knows that language checked the content and said that the content is totally reasonable and even good, and does not look like spam article.
Do you have any other reason to think that that article was bad? Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 11:31, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- There is a new type of spambot that appears like a "real" user on small wikis that create articles in the language but insert SEO links, which is the case here. I can show you a few examples on other projects if you'd like. For example this, which on the surface appears legit but is not. Praxidicae (talk) 12:23, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- Praxidicae,How do you determine please? because the article is well written and formatted, bots cannot translate that language to perfection --- Robertjamal12 ~🔔 18:06, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'd add that it was actually not perfectly formatted; for example, it used bold font instead of proper "==" syntax for headings, which is more typical for well-meaning humans than for bots.
- And what was the actual spam? The external link? It may be slightly commercial, but kind of relevant to the article. If the text is good for the language, and the link is removed, is that really spam? :) Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 08:28, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

Deletion of articles
editHi, I have noticed you are deleting articles about Vicente Costalago, I would like to ask you why are you doing so. He is the main writer in the language called Interlingue. He has been referenced in the main magazine produced in that language, called Cosmoglotta, which has been around since 1922. He also has been mentioned in the official Interlingua website due to his publications in that language. I understand that he is not Shakespeare but I don't think that his articles should be deleted just randomly under the excuse of "spam". I am creating articles about the language and about the language creator (Edgar de Wahl), and those are not qualified as "spam" so, being him the main author in that language, I don't think how that can be seen in that way when the other two articles are being kept. Caro de Segeda (talk) 22:27, 19 July 2022 (UTC)
- Actually, he is the only author he has published books in Lingua Franca Nova and you have deleted his article there, where is clearly important. So I would like to ask you to stop doing that, because you are showing a huge disrespect to other people's work on Wikipedia. That author is the main one in Elefen and Interlingue, and you, without any voting, have just deleted the articles about him even the one written on one of the languages he has published in. So could you please stop doing so and put the articles back? --Caro de Segeda (talk) 22:36, 19 July 2022 (UTC)

Deletion of some pages on Boarisch, Nahuatl and Runa Simi Wikipedia
edit@Praxidicae Hi, I noticed that you have deleted these pages on Boarisch Wikipedia, Nahuatl Wikipedia and Runa Simi Wikipedia:
- Boarisch:
- Borgward
- Volkswagen
- Toyota
- Nahuatl:
- Borgward
- Lada
- Runa Simi:
- Ford
- Lada
- Volkswagen
- Toyota
The reasons were that I used translation machine, copied content from another Wikipedia pages and vandalism. Can you create these pages on these Wikipedia languages again for me to be accurate? I would thank you so much...SSHTALBI (talk) 14:48, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

Apologies
editHi, I apologize for reverting an action that you made on another user’s user talk page from another project. I was intending to restore an earlier version but had to blank the page as it was all copy-paste material from elsewhere. Tropicalkitty (talk) 17:23, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
More than 100+ reverts!
editCould you explain why you deleted so many useful edits? I can understand that some of them may not be very good or perhaps spammy, but a lot of work has been done on the new articles. Anyone could have changed them further with good reason. I've collected a lot of rare car facts and you just delete them. We need to double-check that at least some of the edits were useful and important facts, useful information for car enthusiasts. Many moderators saw those edits or would check them later, but you deleted everything. Baranov107 (talk) 03:47, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- If that was the spam, please delete only links, but leave contributions where it is possible. I really wanted to make Wikipedia better and there were a lot of successful edits making article more perfect. With regards. Baranov107 (talk) 03:55, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- I am very ashamed that I have done a great job breaking Wikipedia's rules. If I had known, I wouldn't have done it, but previous experience with moderators has shown that they are kinder and more liberal about such edits. Some edits weren't good enough as mine. Well, okay, I just have to take everything into account and not do it in the future, but only if they were proper revisions and I want to trust those revisions with understanding my mistakes. Baranov107 (talk) 04:07, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- FYI, I undid your "contribution" to a few of the 57 wikis in which you inserted spam links. You tried, you got caught: now is a good time to stop. Huñvreüs (talk) 09:29, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

- And regardless of how you feel about the TOU violations and paid editing or the spam, most of it was a copyright violation translated or directly. Which is not allowed on any project. Praxidicae (talk) 13:14, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- It wasn't paid for. I never get paid for edits on Wikipedia.
- "most of it was copyright infringement in translation or directly"-I took mostly blank pages and added useful information about cars. Tried to change the text. Mostly interesting information, facts. I spend a lot of time trying to add something valuable to empty pages.
- Yes, I did my best in the Ukrainian wikipedia (wikibooks), since I am Ukrainian. No malice. I've been playing guitar for over 20 years, so I wrote a free book in Ukrainian on how to learn sheet music - a free self-study. Saw some tutorial on ru wikipedia once and decided to write better in Ukrainian. Baranov107 (talk) 14:34, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- You are paid to do SEO for these companies. It's irrelevant, you are here to do nothing but spam and as such should be globally locked. You were also spamming your own website. I'm not interested in discussing this further with you, though. Praxidicae (talk) 14:37, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- I have already told you they don`t pay me for these articles, edits, links whatever. It is my own decision to prove articles where I can do in my free time. It was interesting to do that. I used those websites as I know them. Wikipedia is "nofollow".
- For example, https://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Bronco
- I added much information about car in latest generation. Every driver in Ukraine trying to find info about this car would be happy to find as much as possible about this car. Who cares about links? There is almost no links and article might be deleted because of no sources. There are thousands links to "automoto ua" in Ukrainian wikipedia, check them out. But only they provide much useful information about cars. If you delete them - there will be nothing as well as in other small wikipedias. Can you understand this or not? Or they are also spambots and everything should be deleted?
- It is not English wikipedia, where you can you choose among many sources. Baranov107 (talk) 15:12, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- TOU is a global terms of use. If you want to discuss this further, go to the appropriate venue and not my talk page. Praxidicae (talk) 15:13, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Blocking Mohamed El Andam on arywiki
editHello! You've blocked the editor called Mohamed El Andam, despite most of his edits on arywiki being good. The user is simply new and doesn't know the rules well. Furthermore, you've removed all the pages they've created, even though many of them have been reviewed and were accepted. Arywiki has its own admins and we are reviewing the work done by all users. I can understand the blocking, but why remove all the user's contributions that have been reviewed and further edited by administrators on arywiki? I request that the block be lifted just this one time (or at least commuted to a 3-day ban), on the basis of good faith. --Ideophagous (talk) 19:13, 13 September 2022 (UTC)

Unwanted page creation, with dispute
editHello. I have recently reported the underlying bug at the the Phabricator here. I have come to Praxidicae's talk page because of a directly related concern. HitomiAkane created a talk page for me at arz:User_talk:CJDOS. As outlined on my home talk page here on the English Wikipedia, I have never visited the Egyptian Arabic Wikipedia, nor would I ever do so as I can't read the language. 331dot has suggested a logical reason why HitomiAkane should think that I have. I have insisted that HitomiAkane cease and desist unwanted page creation, at their English talk page (because doing so on their Egyptian talk page would justify the existence of my talk page there, catch-22). User HitomiAkane has made it known that they are a SYSOP at the Egyptian Arabic Wikipedia, insists that I had visited the Egyptian Arabic Wikipedia (which is nonsense), and has not offered to revert the unwanted page creation.
What I would like to see done:
- Un-create the arz:User_talk:CJDOS page, and block its future creation.
- Examine the undesirable practice of creating pages for users who don't want them created, especially if they can't read non-Latin.
- Ask HitomiAkane to stop "courtesy" talk page creation, especially when the other user hasn't visited the Wiki in question.
— CJDOS, Sheridan, OR, USA (talk) 19:43, 10 December 2023 (UTC)
- I can't do anything for you, sorry. Praxidicae (talk) 20:22, 10 December 2023 (UTC)
