Thank you for participating in Learning Day, Wikimedia Conference 2016
edit
Thank you for engaging at Wikimedia Conference 2016 Learning Days!
editWikimania 2016 is almost here! Mjohnson (WMF) and I are running two workshops for IdeaLab during the conference, and you are invited to join us for either (or both!)
If you have a proposal or idea you are thinking about, and would like a space to work on it on your own or with others, please consider joining us for either the Thursday or Saturday sessions. We'll discuss a little about IdeaLab and how it works, and the rest of the time is space for idea building. You can also use this session to ask questions about Wikimedia Foundation grants that are available if your proposal or idea may need funding. Thanks, and see you at the conference! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 20:45, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
The Wikimedia movement strategy core team and working groups have completed reviewing the more than 1800 thematic statements we received from the first discussion. They have identified 5 themes that were consistent across all the conversations - each with their own set of sub-themes. These are not the final themes, just an initial working draft of the core concepts.
You are invited to join the online and offline discussions taking place on these 5 themes. This round of discussions will take place between now and June 12th. You can discuss as many as you like; we ask you to participate in the ones that are most (or least) important to you.
Here are the five themes, each has a page on Meta-Wiki with more information about the theme and how to participate in that theme's discussion:
- Healthy, Inclusive Communities
- The Augmented Age
- A Truly Global Movement
- The Most Respected Source of Knowledge
- Engaging in the Knowledge Ecosystem
On the movement strategy portal on Meta-Wiki, you can find more information about each of these themes, their discussions, and how to participate.

Come join Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018/CEE Women again! <3
editHello, Farah! You receive this message because last year you took part in the CEE Women challenge. This year the challenge repeats, and it will take longer: from now until the end of May (about 10 weeks).
Please, feel invited to visit the page Wikimedia CEE Spring 2018/CEE Women and join the challenge again. Help have more notable women from Central and Eastern Europe in more language versions globally, including Arabic. We again have a list of ideas for biographic articles of women from all over the CEE.
What is different this year is that now you can set your own minimal number of articles as a measure of your challenge (i don't advise you to challenge yourself with more than 70 ;) 10-20 is perfect!). Also, you can receive as a prize a postcard not only from Bulgaria (as in 2017), but also from a list of countries from CEE and around the world. Apart of being a receiver, you can also opt to be a sender of postcards from your country to some of the other participants! That would also be awesome!
Thank you in advance for any contribution you make to CEE Women, and for spreading the word in your local wiki community! Love, Vassia / →Spiritia 18:39, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
Hello. I doubt that you actually wanted to include the entire page, including its h2 headers and the category, into a hundred talk pages. Is someone going to fix it? Nemo 10:42, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- You are correct. The h2 headings were a mistake. Not sure what the best way of fixing that is. --Fjmustak (talk) 10:52, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- I'm afraid the only option is to manually edit those talk pages. (I learnt it the hard way, when I made some mistake in mass-message sending years ago!) Maybe you can divide the work with the originator of the message, though... Nemo 11:19, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
We sent you an e-mail

Candidacy in the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees election
editHi there! I am reaching out about your decision to be a candidate in the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees election. The Board of Trustees decided there would be outreach available for the 2021 Board of Trustees election. There is a team of facilitators supporting this election through outreach activities.
The facilitators have some activities planned during the campaign period. Be sure to check out Candidate Resources to learn more about the trustee role.
I want to let you know the Candidate Briefing Conversation Chat will be July 3 at 15:00 UTC via Google Meet. If this time does not work for you, it is not a problem. We can plan another time or way to get the information to you. Please just let me know what works for you. We will talk about the campaign timeline, activities, and answer questions you have.
Facilitators are reaching out to all candidates with this message. We can offer support to make sure your message is clear. This could be reviewing your candidate page for clarity. We can also clarify community questions that candidates answer during the campaign. Please let us know if you would like this support and we can schedule a time to chat. Best, JKoerner (WMF) (talk) 19:57, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
Candidate update: community question translation and campaign activities
editDear Candidate,
I am writing to you about several things:
1. On 20 July the facilitation team will begin translating the candidate answers to questions selected by the Elections Committee. Please try to finish your answers by that date if possible.
2. There is a list of Campaign Activities planned by the facilitation team. We have heard feedback about Campaign Activities. Thank you for your patience as we are trying new things and learning. The facilitation team will discuss solutions to these frustrations on 21 July. Look for updates on the Campaign Activities list.
3. The Community Affairs Committee meeting with candidates is on 21 July. You may email questions to askcac wikimedia.org if that works better for you than writing on Meta. If you have not already received a calendar invitation, please email me at jkoerner-ctr wikimedia.org so a calendar invitation for the CAC meeting can be sent to you.
4. The Evaluation form attached to your Candidate application is not complete. Please complete it as soon as possible.
Leadership Development Working Group applications open until 10 April 2022
editHello, I hope you're well. I was hoping to share the below message with you and your talk page guests, as the call for applications for this working group is closing soon.
The Community Development team at the Wikimedia Foundation is supporting the creation of a global, community-driven Leadership Development Working Group. The purpose of the working group is to advise leadership development work. Feedback was collected in February 2022 and a summary of the feedback is on Meta-wiki. The application period to join the Working Group is now open and is closing soon on April 10, 2022. Please review the information about the working group, share with community members who might be interested, and apply if you are interested.
Thank you in advance for your consideration =) Xeno (WMF) (talk) 02:30, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
Board elections
editHello. User:Sj and myself are group contact for the Wikimedian for Offline Wikis UserGroup. In July, our UG will participate to the vote to select the 6 people short-list of candidates. If you find the idea agreeable, you are warmly invited to share your thoughts with the group members, either on the talk page of the group or on our mailing list. Note that this is not an obligation of any sort, but simply an option to get our UG to know you better. Thank you for your interest. Anthere (talk) 18:29, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
Email Request
editHi there! Thank you for submitting your candidacy for the 2022 Board of Trustees election. To make communicating easier, could you please send me your email address? Your email address will not be shared on-wiki. Your email address will only be used by myself, a fellow facilitator supporting the election, or the Deputy Chief of Staff who supports the Board. You may send your email to jkoerner wikimedia.org. Best, JKoerner (WMF) (talk) 20:52, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
Hello, Fjmustak. Check your email—you've got mail! You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{You've got mail}} or {{YGM}} template. |
Will you please consider answering all the Board election questions in writing?
editGreetings, Board of Trustees candidate! I'm asking all of you to please consider voluntarily answering all of the community-submitted Wikimedia Foundation elections/2022/Community Voting/Questions for Candidates, instead of just the six top voted that the Elections Committee is asking you to answer on video.
Please see here if you are willing to indicate your agreement.
I'm also hoping you might respond to all 35 Election Compass Likert statements instead of only the 15 most endorsed. Thank you for considering these requests. New4Q (talk) 22:26, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
I have created Wikimedia Foundation elections/2022/Community Voting/Questions for Candidates/Sorted with an invitation for candidates' written answers there. I plan to do something similar for all the proposed Election Compass statements, including any removed from the endorsement list to which someone objected, but I will wait until after August 4 so we know how to sort them. New4Q (talk) 11:08, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Thank You! A Teamwork Barnstar from the CR Team!
editThe Teamwork Barnstar | ||
The Community Resources team is awarding you the Teamwork Barnstar to recognize your important and collaborative preparatory work on your Regional Fund Committee! Our team appreciates your willingness to dedicate your time, talent, and thoughts towards increasing the impact of Wikimedia movement funds. We look forward to continuing to work together and learning from you!) --DGuedri (WMF) (talk) 16:26, 10 October 2022 (UTC) |
We need your feedback on a tool from the Wikimedia Summit
editمرحباً فرح! I'm contacting you as one of the participants in the Wikimedia Summit 2022, to kindly ask for your feedback through a 5-10 minute survey to evaluate 'Baserow' (note: the survey is on a Google form).
Baserow was a tool through which participants in the Summit co-created a database of Movement Strategy activities. We hope to learn from you how useful it may be to keep using it in the future to help document and connect on Movement Strategy work.
You are welcome and encouraged to fill out the survey in any language. Your feedback would be very appreciated --Abbad (WMF) (talk) 15:38, 16 February 2023 (UTC).
