With global abuse filters now being enabled everywhere, including itwiki (my home wiki), I would like to be able to edit them, so as to avoid any false positives that will arise. I am an AFH since 2018 (meaning I can already see, but not edit, global filters), have been an AFM for 1 year in 2022-23, and have just applied for renewal. However, Abuse filter maintainers states that «is only to be used for non-controversial maintenance, or by request of the local community». I wouldn't confidently interpret this as meaning that edits to global filters are OK, even if requested by a local community. I am therefore applying for adminship so as to make sure that any functional changes to global filters would be done legitimately. However, I should also note that minor changes to global filters is all I'm applying for. Currently, I can't dedicate my time to other administrator tasks, including larger changes to global filters, or the creation of new filters. I'm not saying I will never ever do anything other than smaller filter changes, just that it's highly unlikely and I don't want to set false expectations. I hope this is OK for the community. Thank you, --Daimona Eaytoy (Talk) 16:52, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

- Support User is trusted and helpful. While is contributions on meta.wiki is obviously not impressive, his technical skills are definitely bullet-proof and his aid has been appreciated both on mediawiki wiki and in his home wiki, where he has IA and A flags. --M/ (talk) 17:00, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

- Question: I'm not sure I understand the last part right: are you asking for limited or for regular adminship here? ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 23:34, 12 July 2023 (UTC)- @1234qwer1234qwer4: Thanks, that's a good question. This is a request for regular adminship. I did consider applying for limited adminship instead, but I was confused by the Italian translation of Meta:Administrators#Limited_administrator_status, which at first glance made it look like only time limits were possible, and not scope limit. That's why I applied for regular adminship with the note about scope. I didn't want to cancel and restart the RfA with a different scope once it was ongoing, but I would also be OK with limited adminship, yes. --Daimona Eaytoy (Talk) 12:45, 13 July 2023 (UTC)
