Fundraising translation feedback
editHey Podzemnik,
I wanted to ask for your help. As you may be aware we have been running banners on many language wikis. We have a lot of new content this year and I really want to conduct a thorough review of our translations. This is a combination of feedback from the community, readers, donors as well as those with professional translator experience. This will help us ensure the highest quality of translations used in our messaging.
To help us out with this I wonder if you would be willing to give us feedback for Polish using This Link
Simply follow the simple instructions on that page and if you have any questions feel free to contact me on my talk page.
Many Thanks
This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.
As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.
An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.
The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that OTRS volunteers sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have been identified as an OTRS volunteer and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015, you will lose your OTRS access. OTRS volunteers have a specific agreement available, if you have recently signed the general confidentiality agreement for another role (such as CheckUser or Oversight), you do not need to sign the general agreement again, but you will still need to sign the OTRS agreement.
Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign
If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 31 December 2015 to retain your OTRS access. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.
Thank you,
Gregory Varnum (User:GVarnum-WMF), Wikimedia Foundation

Invitation to participate in Wiki Loves Earth 2020
editHi!
You are receiving this because you or your organization have organized Wiki Loves Earth before or have been planning it.
We are pleased to announce that the 8th year in a row the Wiki Loves Earth international photo contest will gather pictures of nature from different parts of the world! As always, our aims are: — Raising public awareness as WLE helps to attract attention to protected areas. — Creating the biggest database of free photos of nature heritage sites everyone can use.
Overall WLE collected 585k free photos of nature heritage sites, with around 130k being used in the wikiprojects — and we are going to make even more impact organizing Wiki Loves Earth 2020! This year the contest will take place between May and July (we extended the international contest this year so it runs through July 30th). We already have 21 participating countries and looking forward to welcoming more. Exactly New Zealand can become a part of the WLE family!
How to join Wiki Loves Earth 2020? 1. Assemble a team of volunteers devoted to organizing WLE in your country (see our guide https://w.wiki/KYA to get an understanding of what this job entails). 2. Declare your participation by adding your country to the list at https://w.wiki/KYH. 3. Create a list of nature heritage objects in your region/country (if you do not have one). Find out more about it here — https://w.wiki/LQ4. 4. Decide on dates of your contest. Please consider how much time you need to prepare and what is the best time in your country. You are free to decide when exactly to hold your contest within the international timeframe, though we advise to do it for no less than two weeks and no more than two months. Contact us if you have any questions. 5. Create your local landing page, start working on promotion and gathering pictures of nature heritage sites of your country! Learn more about how to organize a contest in the guide — https://w.wiki/KYA.
Important: — Due to the spread of COVID-19, there are restrictions for offline public events. Please find our advice on how to handle the situation — https://w.wiki/KiE. — If you need some funding for the contest promotion and prizes, we encourage you to apply for a rapid grant (up to 2 000 USD) from the Wikimedia Foundation. Here you can find more information about it — https://w.wiki/L3K. Deadline of the current application cycle is April 15th, and the next cycle is between 1st and 15th of May. The earlier you are planning to start the contest, the sooner you need to apply. If you need any help, please contact us, and we'll support you in every step of the grant application process.
If you need assistance from the international team to get WLE 2020 started in your country, please don't hesitate to write to us at wle-team@wikimedia.org.ua.
In case you're not active in your organization or not responsible anymore for this kind of projects, please forward this email to a person we could get in touch with. Thanks!
Stay safe!
Best regards, Anastasiia Petrova Project Manager for International Wiki Loves Earth 2020 on behalf of the international organizing team
