Global userpage edit

Hi. Did you use an automated script to create userpages? Or did you do it manually? PiRSquared17 (talk) 23:03, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, PiRSquared17! Good to hear from you!
I got impatient and did it manually. I just want to be done with this as soon as possible so I can join you guys on IRC and do some work. Fighting vandalism will be much more enjoyable now that I've removed so many system messages telling me things I already know. =)
I just started creating user pages as well, only containing a link back to my user page here on meta. I figured it would be a good idea as I'm working my way towards becoming a global rollbacker. It always causes some confusion when someone without a user page uses rollback, and I'm hoping to alleviate that.
Can't wait to be back in action! Nirmos (talk) 23:24, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well, I created a script to do it for you, if you want. By the way, you should not aim to be a global rollbacker, but to help with vandalism and spam. If your sole goal is collecting rights, you will be disappointed. PiRSquared17 (talk) 23:52, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ah, thanks for your consideration, PiRSquared17, but I think I'll heed the warning at the top of that page. :D I'm sure I'd screw up big time. Creating CSS and JS pages was very smooth, and this is even easier as I can just click on my name instead of typing Special:MyPage/common.css in the search window. I'll be done in no time. =)
While I agree with what you say about collecting right, I don't think that description fits me. I have been fighting vandalism since 2010, and almost exclusively as a rollbacker. I have only been an admin for 43 days, and I don't intend to ever become one again, in any shape or form. I know how unthankful it is to be an admin, so I don't see any prestige in additional rights. The main reason I like fighting vandalism on IRC is that I can do it at any time of day. Special:RecentChanges on sv.wiki is not very fun when it's night time in Sweden. =) Nirmos (talk) 00:44, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I'm sorry if what I said discouraged you. If it makes you feel better about the SWMT, I'm not part of it really. I'm so sorry. :-( PiRSquared17 (talk) 03:07, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Please forgive me. I understand why it might have been offensive. I just wanted to tell you that some users would not appreciate saying such things... I'm very sorry PiRSquared17 (talk) 04:21, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi? I hope you will forgive me for this. I'm very sorry. PiRSquared17 (talk) 15:25, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi Nirmos. I hope you don't mind me joining the conversation. I know how discouraging things can be at times. I've been editing our projects since 2003, but because I have a dynamic IP, others often assume bad faith. A few months ago, I added a half a dozen references to an article that was nominated for deletion. Instead of being thanked, I was accused of being an SPA by one person and a second person accused me of being a sockpuppet and then started tagging all the user pages in the 64.40.*.* range as being sockpuppets of me. So things can be very discouraging at times. But my view is that our projects need all the help they can get. We rely on good volunteers such as yourself. If we don't have volunteers then our projects will be over run by the Bad GuysTM. So please reconsider rejoining the Small Wiki Monitoring Team. They need the help of good people like you. I don't think User:PiRSquared17 was trying to discourage you, rather I think he was trying to let you know that the project can be discouraging. I have found PiRSquared to be very helpful and he's done many favors for me. We need helpful people like you to keep our projects running. I expect you feel like many long-term editors in that we believe these projects are important and that's why we volunteer. We need your assitance and truly appreciate your tireless contributions. It's volunteers like you that keep these important projects alive, so please don't be discouraged. We rely on generous people such as yourself. Best. 64.40.54.20 03:26, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please forgive me. I am genuinely sorry and wish to apologize for my behaviour. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Please reconsider this. PiRSquared17 (talk) 20:16, 2 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Can you forgive me for this? PiRSquared17 (talk) 18:47, 21 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi, PiRSquared17! Don't worry about it – it's all forgotten! Have a good one! Nirmos (talk) 15:42, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Userpage deletion edit

I think asking for userpage deletion on Synchbot may be better. PiRSquared17 (talk) 18:05, 21 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Template:Ortsfakta Sverige edit

In it:voy:Utente:Nirmos this template does not exist, and I think it doesn't exist in many other wikis. Please consider to remove it from your global user page. --Andyrom75 (talk) 08:41, 22 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Global user page migration edit

Hello Nirmos. I deleted your local user pages and common.css on all wikis as you requested via Synchbot. You can see the full log on your archive page. :) —Pathoschild 23:01, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank you very much, Pathoschild! Nirmos (talk) 06:31, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

JS update edit

Hi Nirmos,

I noticed that you sent messages to multiple village pumps asking for temporary adminship in order to update JS, thank you for this work. Perhaps you would be interested in applying for Interface editor status? This status would allow you to edit JS on all wikis. You can apply for it at SRGP. Thanks — NickK (talk) 09:51, 9 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

NickK: See Steward_requests/Global_permissions/2016-04#Global_editinterface_for_Nirmos. Nirmos (talk) 20:12, 9 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
OK, that's disappointing. Perhaps you should reapply providing diffs to the changes you have already made? — NickK (talk) 09:04, 10 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

JS update at he Wikisource edit

Hi nirmos and thank you for your offer to help. The cummunity of our wiki prefer not to let someone from other project admin statos, and we asks if you can instaed explain me the problems and I will update them (I am sdmin there). We understand that perhaps we are asking too much, if so, I i will try to make sure that you get the statos needed for the updates. thanks again. eitan (talk) 19:52, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

JavaScript updates on nl.wikimedia edit

A while ago you requested access rights to update deprecated JavaScript on https://nl.wikimedia.org. You have now been given those rights (role: sysop). Thanks for the help you offered. Can you please let me know when it's done, or note it at https://nl.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia:De_kroeg#JavaScript. Cheers! Siebrand (talk) 08:43, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

UserScript edit

Hello, I see you're good in updating JavaScript. Can you help me with some UserScript's that are written in Latin and doesn't work with the cyrillic script? -- DenisWasRight (talk) 13:27, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

DenisWasRight: I'd like to help if I can. Can you show me what isn't working and where? Nirmos (talk) 13:30, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
I've exported this UserScript to the mk.wiktionary.org. The UserScript is designed for Latin and it's being used by this template. By clicking on the ± I can add a description to the template, but only in Latin. If I type something in cyrillic it doesn't work anymore. Here are my private .css and .js. Thanks a lot. -- DenisWasRight (talk) 13:39, 9 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
