Soft redirect

This way is incorrect action for translatable page. What about translations? Page Wikimedia Resource Center/Contact and Questions/Ask a question is a part of multilanguage portal, this is linked with another pages through navigational menu. Please explain your invention. In my opinion, it should be doing contrary: Ask a question (if this is needed) should be redirected to this page. --Kaganer (talk) 15:49, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Kaganer, I am in the process of making Ask a question independent of the Wikimedia Resource Center. You are right that a soft redirect makes things more complicated for translators, so I have made that page into a proper redirect and de-listed it from page translation so that there is no doubt as to which the correct page is. Well, but why would Ask a question don't include in the Resource Center as one from resources? By way of another pages (Learning patterns etc.)? Another input point for these same page? Kaganer, the plan is to no longer transclude whole pages in the Resource Center, but to link out to them instead. You can see a prototype here. For Wikimedia Resource Center/Contact and Questions/Ask a question I should be able to convert the translated text for the new pages. I think the Ask a question/Recent questions translations can be deleted since it was just one translated sentence that isn't used on the new version. Edits done for translated pages under Grants:Evaluation

Hi James, I have noticed your edits for several pages under Grants:Evaluation that were translated into Arabic. I found that most of the pages do not show the correct percentage for translation progress and also some show 100% though the text displayed is in English. Template:I18n/Wikimedia Resource Center

Hi! This way (applied in Template:I18n/Wikimedia Resource Center) is very unuseful and unclear for translators & translationadmins, since doesn't support "translation variables" (<tvar></>). May be better do separation links and translatable texts. --Kaganer (talk) 11:50, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

I already tried this, but it broke the links in resulted pages (where called your module). Your module module:ModuleMsg is used separate translation items in the "Translations:" namespace. In these items "tvar" is not replaced to source code. This replacement is made only on the translated pages themselves (as Template:I18n/Wikimedia Resource Center/ar, Template:I18n/Wikimedia Resource Center/en etc.). For your case, I see two possible solutions:

1. Addition in the Template:I18n/Wikimedia Resource Center some warning massage for translation admins, like "Please don't use "tvar" because..." (as first step in any cases)
2. Extract links code into separate page like "Module:Wikimedia Resource Center/Links", and then combine them with the translations in the module module:ModuleMsg or Module:Wikimedia Resource Center.

Current way is partially incompatible with the Translation Extension. This use implies that only "plain text" is translated (without variables), or the text of the links only, without the wiki-markup.

Category names

Next way of category naming is not fully appropriate:

• Category:Learning and Evaluation: Start
• Category:Learning and Evaluation: Plan
• Category:Learning and Evaluation: Report

Javascript form on Wikimedia Resouce Center

Hi James

Update: I discovered the form uses FormWizard and have made a request for it to be enabled on Wikidata here. Please ignore what I wrote below, but I may come back with some questions], hope that's ok.

So I'm trying to improve the way data imports are recorded on Wikidata and I think the Wikimedia Resource Center is an amazing model to use. I want to run a workshop with experts at UNESCO in a few weeks to ask them to collate data sources for International Women's Day. The current system on the Wikidata Import Hub relies on people knowing Wikitext and lots of people are getting things wrong.

All I want is a when you click the button at the top of the page you get a pop up box like you did for adding new resources to the Wikimedia Resource Center but it just adds a new section to the page. The form would have the following fields:

• Name: The name of the dataset you want to import
• Source: The source of the dataset e.g the organisation who created it or published it
• Link: A URL link to the dataset
• Description: A short (less than 20 word) description of the dataset outlining the contents e.g A list of protected areas in Pakistan

These fields then then populate a new section on the main Wikidata Import Hub page like so:

Wikisource-bot

Tool is generally available for maintenance tasks on the wikisource sites, and predominantly enWS; tasks like talk archiving; and some of the pywikibot tasks. Hello, DAlangi. Usually when that happens it means your browser's cache needs to be purged; you can do this with a hard refresh. It's also worth looking in your browser's element inspector / console to see if there are any errors from the code. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks for the tip Harej. Also, I was not using the oojs-ui-core which has this indicator attribute. I've added that to be loaded as well and also noticed that indicator and/or required attributes work well for TextInputWidget but doesn't work for MenuTagMultiselectWidget and DropdownInputWidget. I'm interested in bringing together something either within or parallel to your Wikimedia Resource Center, but targeted users/readers rather than contributors. Content I'd want to link would include (but not be limited to):

• en:Wikipedia:Researching with Wikipedia and a selection of the articles currently linked in the "See also" section of that page, especially en:Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, en:Wikipedia:Verifiability, en:Wikipedia:No original research.
• commons:Commons:Reusing content outside Wikimedia
• wikisource:Wikisource:What is Wikisource?
• wikibooks:Wikibooks:What is Wikibooks? and wikibooks:Subject:Books by subject

Some of this content may be due for a rewrite; it hasn't been revisited in a long time, and I have not recently done a close review of it.

1. Maybe you can simplify lede with "JADE is a feedback protocol (and software) for ORES" or sort like this? "Can be" sounds too weak, I got an impression it may not be used such.
2. I'm admin on the wiki, most qualified user to know about anti-vandalism coordination. Interest in better coordination - that depends on what the prototype is, we can always fall into a daydream.
3. Never thought about this topic - but what bias we are worrying about should be defined first, IMO.
