Nice to haveEdit
Maybe one thing that could be done at Wikidata in its current stage, if you implement the proposed feature: if the pages created include etymologies of given names, we could link these from Wikidata items (with a specialized property). In any case: all the best for your proposal. --Jura1 (talk) 10:00, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
@Jura1: Thanks for your comment and sorry for my slow reply. I see what you mean. I have one more question. I would like to get more visibility for the proposal (etytree). Where do you think I can ask for feedback? I got no feedback or almost nothing from https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata_talk:Wiktionary/Development/Proposals/2015-05 but maybe that was not the right place to post? I thought the topic was related to my project. Thanks again and I hope my question makes sense :).
@Jura1: Hi Jura1, I just had a conversation with Marco Fossati. We were talking about WikiData. He thinks my project could be stronger if it were to integrate data into WikiData. And I agree. I didn't understand why you said at its current stage it would be difficult. Maybe we could have a chat sometimes? Thanks a lot!
- Sure. Maybe a stand-alone Wikibase installation could work for this? I'm not sure if there is already a good working version available. BTW, for ping to work, you'd need to sign your comment. :) --Jura1 (talk) 11:52, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks! And I think I made all possible mistakes with wiki signatures. I should be fine now :) --Epantaleo
@Jura1: Hi Jura1, could we have a chat? It would surely help - I was asked to make changes to the proposal that I need to submit very soon. If you can my time zone is UTC+2 but I am pretty flexible with meeting times. --Epantaleo
Grazie Nemo! Epantaleo (talk) 15:04, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
A tremendous time!Edit
Toute aide bienvenue !
I am glad to announce the official creation of the user group for Wiktionaries! You mentioned a polite interests for this great adventure and so, here it is!
You're welcome to participate to draw a logo, translate in other languages (like Italian?), contact people or mention places where the announce have to be made. There is still a lot to do, only main pages are there. Soon, I will translate some cool stuff we made in French: annual analysis, skills list, banner and more. I also plan to visit every community so help welcome!
I see you still working, which is great. Next March it's gonna be the 15th anniversary of Galician Wikipedia (not dictionary), and I had the idea of inviting you to divulgation on your tool. Interested? Possible? Not sure they would agree, but do I propose to them? Please answer here Sobreira (parlez) 07:47, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
Collaborazione con l'Università di Bolzano/BressanoneEdit
Scusa l'italiano.
The TWUG on space.wmflabs.orgEdit
A few months ago, WMF opened a new discussion space. Since our user group has some difficulties to communicate (not everyone sees the messages that are posted on Talk:Wiktionary/Tremendous_Wiktionary_User_Group), I asked for a dedicated forum for the TWUG to be opened. It's happening here (there is no topic so far).
News from the Tremendous Wiktionary User GroupEdit
It has been a while!
I let you this message because you are part of the (very dynamic) Tremendous Wiktionary User Group!
As the process of name change is ongoing for the Wikimedia Foundation, I invite you to participate to a collective opinion from the user group. There is also a proposal for a communique directed to the WMF. You are welcome to discuss it too. Thank you in advance! Noé (talk) 15:12, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
Invitation to affiliate members to complete a survey about WMF wide Universal Code of ConductEdit
Hello; My name is Mervat, and I am helping the Trust and Safety team to reach out to affiliates in order to discuss the Universal Code of Conduct.
There has been talks about the need for a global set of conduct rules in different communities over time, and finally, Wikimedia Foundation Board announced a Community Culture Statement, enacting new standards to address harassment and promote inclusivity across projects.Since the universal code of conduct that will be a binding minimum set of standards across all Wikimedia projects, will apply to all of us, staff and volunteers alike, all around the globe, and will impact our work as groups, individuals and projects, it’s of great importance that we all participate in expressing our opinions and thoughts about UCoC, its nature, what we think it should cover or include and what it shouldn’t include; how it may develop, drawback or help our groups. This is the time to talk about it. As you are a valuable contributor to the Wikimedia movement, your voice counts. Before starting to draft the code of conduct, we would like to hear from you; We invite you to devote some minutes to take this survey; your answers will help us create a safer environment for all on Wikimedia:
It’s possible that you are a member of more than one affiliate; hence you may receive this survey more than once, and you may have participated previously in the discussions or filled out a previous survey during the first round of consultations about UCoC which targeted wikipedia/wikimedia communities. We apologize for this; it is really difficult to identify if a wikimedian belongs to multiple groups that work to spread free knowledge. Looking forward to your thoughts and opinions and hoping that you can respond within the next 2 weeks. If you have any questions about the surveys or difficulties accessing the link, please contact me by email (msalman-ctr at wikimedia.org)Results will be considered during the drafting process for the UCoCThank you for your participation
