Concerning WikiGap Challenge 2019 and a big congratulation!

edit

Dear Андрій Гриценко,

Congratulations to the first place in the WikiGap Challenge! We are amazed over the results from the Challenge and your contribution! Well done and thank you for making the gap smaller!

Your great contribution entitles you to a great prize, a scholarship for participation at Wikimedia's yearly conference Wikimania, which will be organized in Stockholm 14-18 August 2019. This include accommodation, entrance fee for the conference and the costs for economy flight tickets (booking will be handled through our travel agency). During Wikimania you will also receive a personal diploma signed by the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Furthermore, the Swedish embassy in Kiev would like to reach out to you for an interview, if that feels ok with you.

Please send us an email to john.andersson@wikimedia.se and mia.jacobsson@wikimedia.se so that we can have a communication how to solve everything practically.

Kind regards Mia Jacobsson (WMSE) (talk) 11:20, 10 April 2019 (UTC) International coordinator of WikiGap 2019Reply

Thanks! --Андрій Гриценко (talk) 13:31, 10 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

WikiGap Challenge 2020 — bonus articles

edit

Hi! Hope you are doing well! Great to see your fantastic efforts so far in the WikiGap Challenge this year, after your success last year! The scoring rule for double points for proposed articles are however only for the articles listed here – it is great that you write about the proposed articles from Ukrainian Wikipedia, but they don't count as bonus points article this year (that is, of course you get points for them, but not twice the points). Best, Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 10:10, 9 March 2020 (UTC) Thanks! --Андрій Гриценко (talk) 16:47, 9 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You get a Mind the Gap Barnstar from us, for your great contribution in the WikiGap Challenge, and to the visibility of women on Wikipedia.

Hi Андрій Гриценко,

Now, we have finalized the results from the WikiGap Challenge. You can find the results here!

On behalf of Wikimedia Sverige, I want to sincerely thank you for your contribution, which together with the other participants have created a tremendous and long lasting impact for the visibility of women on Wikipedia. I also want to congratulate you for your 1st place in the challenge! The 1st prize is to go to Geneva and visit the UN Human Rights Council, when the situation in the world allows it. Congratulations, again!

To further show our appreciation of your efforts, we want to give you a barnstar for your participation – a praise of your efforts for a better visibility of women on Wikipedia!

We will also analyze the challenge and the way it works closely, to see how we can improve it for next year. It would be very valuable for us if you wanted to share your views on the challenge, especially when it comes to: the point system, the focus, and the adding of the list from UN Human Rights. You can send your answers to eric.luth@wikimedia.se!

I hope you found the challenge exciting, and that you want to participate next year as well!

Best, Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 10:20, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks!

I am glad. I will write suggestions later. --Андрій Гриценко (talk) 10:37, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wiki Loves Caucasus 2020

edit

Hello Andrey! Unfortunately, we will not take your articles into account, since you added your articles to the list after the end of the contest, without paying attention to my warning that the contest is over and do not add articles. We must all adhere to the principles of "fair play", which means that articles cannot be added en masse on the last day. You will of course receive a postcard or souvenir for your participation and for your significant contribution to the contest. Good luck. --Mehman 97 12:49, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Mehman97:!

I created articles gradually over the course of a month (October 16-31). I was able to add them to the table only on the weekend of November 1. I wonder why you can't accept articles if they were created in October? --Андрій Гриценко (talk) 18:23, 3 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello! The articles you created should have been added before the end of the contest, while I closed the page for editing. By creating articles and not fixing them in the table, you create an illusion in relation to other participants who think that you are not participating, and then by massively pouring articles into the table, you put others in front of a not very good fact. This contradicts the "fair play" rule that Wikimedia UG Georgia adheres to in its contests. Unfortunately, due to violation of the rules, I can't accept your articles. --Mehman 97 21:04, 3 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Mehman, And where is it written in the rules of the competition? --Андрій Гриценко (talk) 19:09, 4 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
This is the general guidelines of Wikimedia UG Georgia. We will discuss your case at the next meeting with the co-organizers of the contest and decide what to do. Kindly, --Mehman 97 19:20, 4 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Mehman! I will be grateful for your understanding of the situation and support. --Андрій Гриценко (talk) 17:00, 5 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decision regarding WLC2020

edit

Dear Andriy! First of all, thank you for taking part in our competition and wish you success in your endeavors. With this letter I deliver you the decision of the organizing committee of the "Wiki Loves the Caucasus" contest regarding your articles. Unfortunately, after lengthy discussions, the committee decided not to accept your articles for evaluation, so you lose your right to receive the prize. Reasons for this:

  1. You didn't add articles to the contest page on time, you added them after my warning that the contest is over and this is unacceptable. After the end of the contest, we don't consider the added articles.
  2. You have added the maximum number of articles at a time, which is against fair play. Again: By creating articles and not fixing them in the table, you create an illusion in relation to other participants who think that you are not participating, and then by massively pouring articles into the table, you put others in front of a not very good fact. This contradicts the "fair play" rule that Wikimedia UG Georgia adheres to in its contests.

Unfortunately, due to the reasons listed above, we refuse to evaluate your articles for the contest. Kindly, on behalf of OrgCom WLC2020, --Mehman 97 20:54, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
