AFAIK, VE and NWE save progress to LocalStorage. But on iOS at least, LocalStorage size is very limited and I lose my work when a tab reloads. Can I assume this proposal is about a server-side auto-save like what you get with Blogger, GDocs, Word Online, etc.? ⁓Pelagic (talk) 10:13, 28 January 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yes, this suggestion is about server side autosave. Kurono (talk) 11:29, 29 January 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Isn't this already available in when translating articles? Because I find that very useful so this gets my support! Sabelöga (talk) 16:53, 2 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This does indeed exist within the mw:Content translation extension, with a time limit on inactivity after which the content is discarded. ~~~~

  • My browser just crashed and, having lost my edit, I thought of this proposal... czar 04:47, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
VE/NWE/Flow/DiscussionTools actually use SessionStorage because of the quota issues with LocalStorage. SessionStorage is lost when you switch to a new tab, so LocalStorage would be an improvement. ESanders (WMF) (talk) 13:19, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
