Tabs on CodeEditor
editHi!
I was wondering how you made the CodeEditor to output tabulations when you edited some JS pages on mediawiki.org. When I try it, it converts the tabs to spaces, as reported on mw:Thread:MediaWiki talk:Gadget-CodeEditor.js/Tabs. Helder 01:02, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- I edit in VIM and paste the output. :-D Tychay (talk) 00:17, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- Oh well... In that case I will continue using kate... ;-)
- Thanks anyway! Helder 03:35, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi, in Special gadgets on it.wikivoyage I import your script. I think your project is a great idea and I want to create a guided tour (in italian) to show this tool to other italian wikis like Wikipedia for example. I read Guided tours#User script, but I have not understood how to create a new tour. Thank you if you decide to explain it to me. :) Raoli 03:03, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know if GuidedTour has been translated to Italian, but it was recently released on the wikis as an extension, so it may be able to be turned on (without the need of a gadget) on Wikivoyage. In addition, it fixes a number of bugs. :-) To create a new tour, create a <tourname>.js in the directory the same directory that the sample tour is located (usually somewhere in the mediawiki namespace). I'd just copy the sample tour and then figure out various things by adding ?tour=<tourname> to the url until you figure out what does what. After that, it's simple to use. Good luck!
