Dear Sirs, I not agree with the change made in the description of " tabagismo" in the italian edition of Wikipedia. the link inserted in the section: "tabagismo e sigaretta elettronica" are link to scientific article and the italian law.

They are in a commercial site, but they are neutral and not artefact. If the commercial site share the good informations why not use this informations.

I think there are more important the information that the aspect.

Is not important if the cat is black or white, while it catch the mouse. I insert the link.

open to the discussion

That is a site of commerce and not either a credible or reputable source of Italian legislation. It does matter about the quality of the link, this is an encyclopaedia. Please see w:it:Wikipedia:Collegamenti esterni, w:it:Wikipedia:Uso delle fonti and w:it:Aiuto:Cita_le_fonti. I will happily take the links back out. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:26, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your answer, but I'm not agree with your considerations for the following reasons:

The linked website is a website of a company and not a website of private person.

In Italy the companies are legal subject, and when they have a web site they have to to be identified ( European law 88/09, ratified on 14 Julay 2009 in the Supplemento Ordinario alla Gazzetta Ufficiale n. 161. art 42 and previous art 2250).

The director of company are liable for the offenses of the company.

In specific, if on for example , in the web site there is a fake document. The company performs many crimes ( false, fraud, etc. ) ance the law persecute it. So the site of a company is credible in Italy.

the rules indicate by wikipedia tells that is not recommended, but not is prohibited, link information included in commercial site in case of lack of alternative souurces. please is it possible mantain the link just to the end of the discussion?

Thank you

Just quote and link to the original legislation will you? Quote the original paper source. There is no need to go to third party renditions that may contain inaccuracies. I know that it is not prohibited, and that is due to the fact that there are occasions when the original source is not available or we have historic documents that are now reproduced in facsimile. It is not so we can direct from an article about a commercial product to a version of a document at a commercial site that sells this commercial product. I don't think that this is a practice that we wish to encourage, it would be so open to abuse by commercial sites everywhere. Please lift your standards, and see that there is potential for abuse and not one that should be allowed. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:52, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

In Italy the laws are not available for free, but are published in a specific journal, the "Gazzetta Ufficiale" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gazzetta_Ufficiale. For have access to this information you have to pay and I think the Company pay for show it in your site.

In my opinion is important in this case to show the complete law, while there are a lot of misinformation if you read the journals. It appear that all the e-cigarettes are not allowed for younger of 16 years. But the real law speak about the e-cigarettes with nicotina. In some forum I answer about this but without the real paper, is difficult to argue.

I agree with you that the level of the Wikipedia must to be elevate, but in this specified case I think the advantages are more then the disadvantages. For fairness I don't add the link without your approval (I recognize that you have a better esperienxa me), but please analyze if in this case, it must to be an exception and answer to me.

Thank you in any case of the good discussion, I hope this will help wikipedia.

Truly? How about Gazzetta Ufficiale N. 248 del 23 Ottobre 2012, cannot seem to get more official and better than that. To one of your alternate links, you should be able to link directly too, that is http://www.escardio.org/about/press/esc-congress-2012/press-conferences/Documents/presentations/konstantinos-farsalinos.pdf I am pretty certain that we can call this closed. With a bit of work we are able to not utilise commerce sites. — billinghurst sDrewth 03:06, 9 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
