Wikimedia and Libraries User Group Steering Committee Election Voting Phase

Hello Mehman/Archive 4! We are happy to announce that the steering committee election 2019 is now open for voting. Because you have joined the user group before 28 February 2019, you are eligible to vote. Not unlike last year, you can vote support for multiple candidates, at most one support for each candidate. Also, oppose votes are not allowed, but discussions are welcome on the talk page.

On behalf of the steering committee,

Aaron,

The Research team could use your help

Hello. You are receiving this message because of your recent activity in the Translations namespace.

The Wikimedia Research team is developing a new algorithm that automatically recommends sections for editors to add to articles. Translations have already occurred for some of the few languages that we are testing in, except for Spanish and Russian. If you have some time in the next few days, please consider translating the short message (only 6 items) we aim to send out soon, in one or both of these languages. (And if you feel like you want to support your tester peers even more, you can do so by taking care of the related instructions page.)

Thank you! Jonathan Morgan & Diego Saez-Trumper, Wikimedia Foundation Research - 18:14, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for your help on the 2030 movement brand project page

Hello,

Thank you for marking the project page for translation. I had it on my list of things to do, and you beat me to it! CKoerner (WMF) (talk) 19:43, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Hello @CKoerner (WMF): and sorry for that. I read email from Essie and there she wrote that it would be nice to translate this into other languages, I decided to translate it into Russian and saw that it was not marked for translation. So I decided to mark it for the translation. --Mehman 97 21:08, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Kindly segregate section titles and body text

Hi, thank you so much to turning pages translatable esp at those pages readers are eager to catch up and comprehend the bigger picture in their own languages. As a translator, I have a humble request: would you kindly segregate/separate section titles and body texts apart, so that a lazy one can at least put the section titles into their mother tongue? That way, at least the TableOfContents appear in local languages, a cheat but practical way to hold a rough idea what is discussed. I have in mind those Universal Code of Conduct pages in particular, where not much language pages have been cultivated yet. As with such rich and lengthy discussion on their back fall, as well as the clock is ticking to start global discussion, speed is a factor for translators who wish to support local communities have their voices heard. Cheers, --Omotecho (talk) 10:42, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

I will try. --Mehman 97 16:48, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

"We decided to hold contests in Wikipedia in the languages of the Caucasus (Armenian, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Russian, Lezgi, Chechenian and etc.)"- that means that I am not allowed to hold this contest at Romanian Wikipedia? Hello, I have a question need to help. I could't see Georgian Wikipedia page for WAM 2020. Is it a right link? (Sorry, my English is not good)--KOKUYO (talk) 20:00, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi KOKUYO. Yes, this is the correct link, a contest page will be created on the official Wikimedia GE site in the coming days. --Mehman 97 21:37, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Oh~I saw thsis page:)--KOKUYO (talk) 13:08, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi, we found that some Fountain pages cannot be displayed properly (like Georgian Wikipedia), and contacted Le Loi (the tool developer) for this question. He says these pages haven't been created or approved yet.

The Georgian Wikipedia Asian Month Fountain pages need admin (from Georgian Wikipedia) to go to their profile (chick their name at top of the page), select "approval" and approve the editahon. (like this) This change is to prevent creation of vandal editahon with attacks in the title.

I hope this information will help you. If you have any question, please tell me. --KOKUYO (talk) 09:16, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Hello KOKUYO, this is not the first year we have carry out this, so we are informed about everything and can even help others. So don't worry, we know everything and we will do everything right. --Mehman 97 15:34, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

--Ilnur efende (talk) 18:26, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

We are a mosiac.
