FAQ ml
editThanks for publishing FAQ in ml. But the published version has ml text in only one paragraph. We had translated all text to ml. Please see the original. Thanks --Vssun 03:08, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- Something went wrong with the import, so only some revisions were imported to begin with. I have fixed it now, thanks for noticing! Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 16:53, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have marked it as Published in ml template. --Vssun 05:06, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Fundraising 2011/az
editHi, Jsoby. I've translated "Jimmy Letter 003" and "Thank You Mail" into Azerbaijani ([1]). But they are not published yet. Wertuose 08:45, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, they are handled in different ways than the other texts, and simply haven't been put up yet. Once they are they will be marked as published. :-) Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 16:44, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
Hi. Banners 2/az is also ready. Wertuose 13:38, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Reverting several revisions
editHi, Emperyan! A tip: To revert several revisions at once, you can click on the date for the revision you want to revert to, then click edit, and save (with a fitting edit summary). That should save you some time instead of reverting edits one by one. Thanks for looking out! Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 17:33, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the tip! :) Emperyan-message/ileti-WMTR 12:59, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
Russian texts of Jimmy Letters - final version
editDue to the fact that the texts are actively edited and vandalized by anonymous, here's the final version of the Russian texts for publication:
- Jimmy Letter 002 - http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=3086282
- Jimmy Letter 003 - http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=3086319
--Kaganer 13:04, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, I will update them now. Should the pages be protected against edits by anons, by the way? Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 16:54, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

editMind adding <span class="plainlinks">

around $1
in MediaWiki:rightslogentry?
changed group membership for $1 from $2 to $3
to
changed group membership for <span class="plainlinks">$1</span> from $2 to $3
All this does is not show the external links symbol for a right change on, say, mediawikiwiki. Its not a big problem, however, I honestly think it would look a lot better if the external links symbol wasn't there. LikeLakers2 03:22, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Hindi translation for high priority messages(Except Interface messages)
editI have done translations for Fundraising 2011/Banners and LPs/hi,Fundraising 2011/Jimmy Letter 002/hi(both proofreading left),Fundraising 2011/Jimmy Letter 003/hi(ready).They are almost ready and can be used directly. The Fundraising 2011/Jimmy Letter 002/hi used in the donation interface is of the older version. There was a major update after that. Now,it has been updated. Please replace the new version on the donation website. Praying that the fundraising becomes more successful than ever. Vivekananda De--tAlK 05:58, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Sw-Wiki / JWLetter
editOn sw we have an ugly version of JW's call for donations. Somebody made it a 4-liner which is just to wide for the average laptop screen like mine - other wikis I looked at have it as a 3-liner. And secondly the text is not good Swahili. Should read: "Usome tafadhali: Barua kutoka Jimmy Wales, mwanzilishaji wa wikipedia!". The text itself is not this years appeal but probably last Year's, which I cannot check. If you know anyone who can correct the Swahili and make it a 3-liner, I appreciate. Kipala 11:30, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Mambo, Kipala. I've fixed the issue with the string length; please make the necessary changes in Fundraising 2011/Banners and LPs/sw, and I'll update accordingly. Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 13:58, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Salaam, I cannot access the bannerand make changes. Please do it, use the text above. Kipala 15:43, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- You should have no problem to do it in the page I linked, it is not locked or anything. Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 15:47, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

High priority question regarding the Hebrew banner
editHi,
Please pay attention to my question on Talk:Fundraising 2011/Translation/Banner. Today's banner looks quite poor for all the readers getting an Israeli IP address. Thanks in advance, Ldorfman 13:36, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- I've replied there. Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 13:56, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
sw
editHave you seen this comment from kipala? I have changed the other banners to be in the same wording as Kipala's amendment and changed the status to ready. I will also leave a message on his talk page. Lloffiwr 21:49, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yup, I saw and changed the one banner. Will change the others now. Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 21:55, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

SW case again, mate
editHi there! There was some tiny problems on the http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising_2011/Banners_and_LPs/sw - meant the translation did not go properly. I've cross-checked them again and do some corrections. Wondering if you could apply the new changes which I've made. Sincerely, Muddyb--Wikipedian (Activist) 17:39, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Centralnotices in English
editHello Jon,
the current centralnotice (Apersonal appeal from programmer Brandon Harris) appears in Upper Sorbian, Lower Sorbian and Esperanto Wikipedia in English, although the corresponding Fundraiser group (Banners and LPs) has been published for all three languages. So why the centralnotices are in English?
Thanks and regards, --Michawiki 20:34, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, they show up correctly to me. The language they are shown in depends on your interface language, so if you've set your language to English they will be shown in English. Is that they reason? Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 22:12, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- No, I use the respective interface language and although it doesn't work. With the Jimmy Wales centralnotice it was still working. Here on Meta my interface language has been set to Lower Sorbian but the centralnotice is in English.--Michawiki 22:24, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Very weird... They show up correctly here too for me when using any of those languages. By the way, the banner is not supposed to be shown to logged-in users now, we turned that off about a week ago. But you still see banners when you are logged in? Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 22:34, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Aah, and that's the solution: For people in Germany another banner is used, which uses different messages. I'll convert it to use the right tags. Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 22:36, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Should be fixed now. Jon Harald Søby (WMF) 22:40, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, now it's fixed. Thank you. But I see the banner as logged-in user as well. But, I think it was this morning, when no banner was visible for a short time, in German Wikipedia as well. Besides in German Wikipedia the Ryan Kalderi banner was active for a while. BTW, the Brandon Harris banner was in German in German Wikipedia, also when the banner didn't work in the above mentioned Wikipedias in the correct language. Please do not orient texts of minority languages that are spoken in countries with a Wikimedia chapter too strong towards to the language of this chapter. A minority language should have the same chances like the "big" country language. For instance, I think it would be useless for me to translate the fundraiser letters because the banner always links to the German chapter (spenden.wikimedia.de), i.e. my translations wouldn't be visible anywhere. But, centralnotices must remain translatable - it is terrible to see English texts as "alien" elements in a Wikipedia of a different language. Finally, many thanks and kind regards, --Michawiki 23:19, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, Jon. The same problem again, with the difference that the "Read now" button appears translated. :-( Regards, --Michawiki 13:39, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Now it works again. Thanks, ..Michawiki 19:09, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
