SVG Translate Community wishlist survey project

Hello! Thank you for voting for the SVG Translate project that was proposed in the 2017 Wishlist survey. The Community Tech team in the Wikimedia Foundation is beginning to start their work on the project. We're currently looking for feedback on some open questions which will allow us to come up with preliminary designs for the tool. If you are interested in being involved, you can watch the project page and join in the discussions on the talk page. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning from your experiences. Thank you. -- NKohli (WMF), Product Manager, Community Tech (talk) 21:53, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

The Community Wishlist Survey

Hi,

You get this message because you’ve previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey. I just wanted to let you know that this year’s survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until 11 November: Community Wishlist Survey 2019.

You can vote from November 16 to November 30. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won’t send out a separate reminder to you about that. /Johan (WMF) 11:25, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request to steward

Hello. I've made a global rename request. Can you answer for me? Wishey (talk) 23:43, 27 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Wishey Your request is in the queue, and will be handled by a global renamer. Rename requests are typically handled oldest first, the backlog is about 10 days right now. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 23:51, 27 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear AntiCompositeNumber , I request you to semi-protect your My Usertalk on meta forever.since it is interwiki redirect, is it possible because i don't want any User to leave any message on my talk.Regards Aviram NoSurprisesPlease 02:17, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Aviram7 I am a steward, but not a Meta administrator. Making that sort of protection would be outside of my role under the Meta:Meta–steward relationship. Please ask a Meta admin instead. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 02:20, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Unprotecting hi:अलका नूपुर

@AntiCompositeNumber: Sir I request you to unprotect hi:अलका नूपुर so that everyone (including IPs) can edit it. It needs additional citations to meet Wikipedia verification standards. Kindly also change the stable revision settings. Being a steward you can help me as none of local administrators is active. Thanking in anticipation.117.234.17.49 12:40, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

That page was protected by a local administrator, and the wiki has three local administrators that have edited this week. Under the Stewards policy, stewards will not override decisions of local administrators except with consensus, in an emergency, or when there are no active local administrators. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 15:02, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@AntiCompositeNumber: You are mistaken sir. The administrators have not edited since a week. And the reason for protecting was vandalism but vandal is now globally locked. Sir kindly do the requested. 117.234.17.49 15:08, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Regard block me on English Wikipedia

I am tell you that I am blocked for accountcreation blocked, email disabled, cannot edit own talk page CU block for indefinite time. I was put a complain against a global renamer for misbehaving on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents but the Administrator put me on block list on gross incompetence or trolling. My mistake was that I put complain without their diff because I was not aware of this. I have requested for unblock on my talk page but admin not put attaintion by replying that 'I don't know what I was thinking' {perhaps because I was not put block reason(only put unblock reason) on request because I was not read unblocking guideline.} Than I requested to unblock on UTRS but It showing message that I have already put request.

Unblock reason- I was not read guideline for complain on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents

Block reason-gross incompetence or trolling, doesn't really matter which

SUL weirdness

Hi ACN! I was wondering if I could ask a favor: When foundationwiki got merged into SUL, my old account there, User:PinkAmpersand (proof), reactivated the SUL of that name—a username that would otherwise be impossible to register since it used to be my username. I've lost the password for that account, and it's weird (and potentially an attack vector) for my old username to still have an account associated with it that I don't control. Would it be possible to rename User:PinkAmpersand to like User:PinkAmpersand (SUL issue) or User:PinkAmpersand (T205347) and lock it? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 22:58, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Commons permission

Dear colleague, can you allow me to use commons wiki as a result of the discussion here? because I use 1 account. Elshad Iman (Elşad İman) (talk) 15:10, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Elshad Iman (Elşad İman) I will again attempt to clarify:,
  • Your Meta-Wiki appeal resulted in your original account being unlocked. This means you can log in, and edit projects where you are not blocked.
  • You have open blocks on Commons, ruwiki, enwiki, and trwiki. You need to appeal those blocks on those projects, not here.
  • Do not expect those projects to quickly unblock you because of discussion here. You have been an unconstructive editor on those projects for years, and they have local processes. Use your user talk page on those projects to appeal.
And again, the primary reason you were unlocked was because you seem to be constructively editing azwiki, per local editors there. I highly recommend you only edit azwiki. Vermont 🐿️ (talk) 15:20, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
I understood, thanks. I applied here. Elshad Iman (Elşad İman) (talk) 15:24, 25 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Global Block for 76.83.141.7

Hello dear steward AntiCompositeNumber! Since Steward Requests/Global is semi-protected, I would like to ask for an urgent steward action that requires steward attention which I cannot make in the page:

Status:    In progress

Open Proxy/Webhost.

This is an Open proxy/Webhost provided, used by the American VPN service NortonLifeLock, if I'm not mistaken. I can definitely attest to the Norton VPN IPs being used for abuse and spambots on en.wiki and commons as well. Thank you. 2603:800C:402:E89C:148D:9D4F:8A75:22D4 21:49, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

@MBH Please create a new one, and make sure to notify local communities. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 01:16, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
But why I need to create a new one, if I agree with current statement? If an original poster not honored enough to create a global ban proposals, I can support his statement. MBH (talk) 11:33, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@MBH Normally I'd agree along the lines of w:WP:NOTBUREAU, but global bans are one of the places where we have to make sure that T's are crossed and I's are dotted. AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 22:39, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

LTA cross-wiki vandalism and block evasion

Good evening AntiCompositerNumber, I would like to inform you that the globally blocked user Livioandronico2013 (talk contribs deleted contribs logs block user block log CentralAuth AllContribs checkuser investigate) is cross-wiki vandalizing articles, pages and other files. I treated to revert him, but he is changing IPs constantly. Would be possibly to block all the IPs globally? Thanks and greetings.

These are the IPs that I counted for last three days:

Their actions, in most cases, are impose Livio and his socks accounts' photos in Wikidata (diff 1, diff 2, diff 3), undo my contributions in some Wikipedias like in French (diff 1, diff 2), Spanish (diff 1, diff 2, diff 3) or English (diff 1, diff 2, diff 3) versions, and, also, editing in the files that Livio and socks uploaded to wikimedia Commons (diff 1, diff 2, diff 3). 81.41.172.147 19:54, 11 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi ACN!

I'm looking at your global block of a /16 due to it being a colocation webhost. There's a subnet (/23) that appears to be assigned to a legitimate ISP named Squirrel that provides static IP addresses to users ([2]) rather than being an open proxy.

I contacted Blablubbs on the English Wikipedia about their local block, and we were able to resolve things by replacing the wide range block with several more precise blocks that don't include the suballocated range (click here for a list of the new blocks that would be needed). Would you be willing to do the same for your global block?

Hello, dear User:AntiCompositeNumber! How are you? I would like to draw your attention to the request for comment that I made in July, 2023. As the situation has deteriorated since then towards the open vote fraud by the bureaucrat, a timely consensus on the part of stewards has become even more essential for the implemention of rules in Belarusian Classical Wikipedia. Good morning. I noticed you've deleted article about Zbigniew Symonowicz on pihwiki due to it being written not in Norfolk language. I'd want to request you to delete Edwin Symonowicz on smwiki due to very similar reason (the article looks like autotranslation).
