Popular pages
editI attempted to add an item but couldn't wrangle the translate tags. Can someone please add this to "Recent changes"
The Popular pages bot has been re-written and will begin posting its monthly updates for subscribed WikiProjects on April 2. New WikiProjects can opt-in on this page. [1]

- You can add normally and then someone will wrap it. --Wargo (talk) 21:19, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you! My edit was rejected in the new wikitext editor, I had to switch to the classic wikitext editor for it to work. --Trevor Bolliger, WMF Product Manager 🗨 21:44, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- only enwp?--Shizhao (talk) 07:13, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Shizhao — yes, only ENWP at this time. — Trevor Bolliger, WMF Product Manager 🗨 16:58, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- So it's only interesting for those who edit the English Wikipedia. Not sure it should be included here. Stryn (talk) 17:27, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
It was a top project on the 2016 Community Wishlist, and I believe this is an appropriate method for informing the community that this request was completed. Perhaps I should append my submission with this information? — Trevor Bolliger, WMF Product Manager 🗨 18:38, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- Trevor, what would make it interesting and relevant would be the plan for the future, for the rest of the wikis, and how they can request it for their own wiki. English Wikipedia only is never really relevant for Tech News, for the simple reason that it's easier to tell that specific wiki in a different way; if it's something that's coming to other wikis, then the first wiki is just he first example, and if it's not on their wiki yet, they have somewhere to check it out. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 19:06, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- OK, so this is relevant – thanks for adding it, Trevor, much appreciated – but we should at least know when other wikis can expect to use the feature and how they can work to get it, so I'm going to postpone this until we have more information about wikis that aren't English Wikipedia, and add it again later. /Johan (WMF) (talk) 20:42, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
- Sounds good, thank you Johan. — Trevor Bolliger, WMF Product Manager 🗨 21:01, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

New RC filters
edit"New filters for Recent changes will come to Wikidata ..." - it looks like an update was missed here: This is actually not going live on Wikidata this week, it was postponed until May. Regards, Tbayer (WMF) (talk) 04:36, 14 April 2017 (UTC)
- Tbayer (WMF): Thanks! Trizek (WMF), you wrote both the update linked to here and the text for Tech News, any comments? Was the Wikidata part simply a copy'n'paste error? /Johan (WMF) (talk) 19:41, 14 April 2017 (UTC)
